Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley played three seasons together with the Rockets and made the playoffs only once losing to the Lakers 4-1 in the first round. They weren't crackin' by any means.

Y'all are going to forget who Cam Whitmore is once you see Durant play 5 games with these guys.

Seriously. Cam is just a guy right now. He has potential, but he's not gonna achieve anything here with so many people in front of him. He needs to go elsewhere to grow, and the team could use future picks for him.

Does aggy Graham write for the Suns too??

What Did Houston Get? A Warning Label

I’m sorry Houston, we lied. The Phoenix Suns sold you a lemon that they were willing to chew their arm off to get away from, and you gave us a future. You get a 37-year-old in September that will just hoop and score 25 points per game and ruin all that young positive chemistry that you’ve been building. The Rockets didn’t just get Kevin Durant. They inherited the full Kevin Durant Experience™️. That means:

  • A 37-year-old star who will iso your team to death and turn the ball over
  • A mercenary who bails at the first sign of trouble.
  • A “I’m unbothered, just here to hoop” -er who becomes disengaged when things don’t go his way.
  • A walking frowny face emoji who turns on fans and media the second criticism enters the chat.
  • A social media sniper with a burner account and a short fuse.

Let’s be honest: when things go wrong — and they will go wrong — Durant will do what he’s done in OKC, Golden State, Brooklyn, and Phoenix. He’ll disengage. He’ll throw shade. And he’ll plan his escape while the team he just destabilized is left to clean up the mess.

The Slim Reaper always strikes again.

Cam is a ClutchFans GAWD. I would expect nothing less from the fanbase.

i'm fine trading him, i just don't want to give him away for nothing.  i'm fine dragging this into the season if necessary.  he's curenttly an 8th-9th man, not anyone who is going to be significantly relied upon.  his being upset with his role is not going to disrupt team chemistry or anything like that.

Cam to the Wiz for 2 SRPs.

He's from the DMW era, so looks like the Rockets did him a solid.

Correct. He should get a lot of shots. I hope Cam’s agent scratches our back down the road.

And they traded him to a team and conference that will never come back on us.

I’m heartbroken that they’ve traded Cam. Would’ve loved to have seen him with the new additions and think he would have feasted going to the hoop and with the 3 ball with the improved spacing we’ll see with KD. I am afraid of getting the short end like the Dodgers in giving away Yordan. The only solace I have is that he was traded to a non-contender in the Eastern Conference.

I’m supposed to be upset about a guy who was such a locker room cancer, the Suns didn’t want him, and he couldn’t even get minutes in our offense last year that was begging for anyone who could make buckets?

He looked really good in the game against a full strength Thunder squad in March or April, which he started with Reed, and was never seen from again.

I love Ime — one of his weaknesses is his reluctance to play Reed and Cam this past season. I really wanted to see Reed and Cam play and grow together. Ime needs to double down and make sure he develops Reed — he needs to average 20 minutes a game at a minimum.

Reed will play. He was not ready for real minutes at 19yo.

Dang I was hoping to get a first rounder for him at the least.

No one giving a FRP for a wing who can’t defend, can’t pass and has an attitude

Sending him back home to the DMV was a good move by Stone

I think we need a true shooting guard. Not sure what’s available at this point. Cam is probably a handshake an apology to Ime from being that guy.

Reed is a great and all but he’s sub 6’2’’ and they’ve been reluctant to play Reed and FVV together. This really cuts into his minutes. Maybe Ime changes his mind next year, but if Reed has to play with Amen at all times that’s sub 15 minutes a game.

Probably not, but the Nets are a very stupid team with more picks than they can possibly use.

A Wizards’ 2nd rounder is pretty damn close to a late 1st….

Hah well I guess we just needed his salary off the books. If anything these picks will be filler for whatever move we make at the trade deadline…

Need his roster spot more than the salary relief. This team could end up deep.

It’s the Bulls pick in 26 and Kings in 29

Haha. The Wizards thought so little of Cam that they didn’t even want to use one of their home grown seconds on him.

Be right back, I need to pop over to ClutchFans.

The ClutchFan response is about what you’d expect. Cam is the next Kobe, Cam was worth a top 20 pick, Ime sucks because he can’t coach strong willed players.

Cam is going to be very good. However his style does not fit with not help the current rockets. The Rockets are doing him a favor.

Cam is a natural scorer, but his game doesn’t fit our style or (especially) our winning window.

We should actually be happy it came to this; if so many of our first rounders hadn’t panned out (especially given where we picked them), letting a guy like Cam go for essentially nothing wouldn’t be an option…

Best case scenario, I think he’s a Zach Levine type. Good scorer, but not efficient, and that’s it.

I’m curious what the other offers were for Cam. It’s reminiscent of how Presti handles things. If you’re not playing, and you’re unhappy he’ll help move you to where you want to be. It sounds like bullshit, but Presti has routinely convinced Thunder players to take less money because they like how they’ve been treated in OKC.

Lavine is very efficient scoring the ball. He's just one dimensional and has zero edge.
