Alpie appears to be rapidly improving. I think there’s a hot/crazy line with his offense/defense. Just need to stay above the curve. He’s made real strides in his defense that make me believe he’s not Sabonis III.

That said, he’s a mid 30% 3 point shot away from being middle class Joker.

Yeah, he should be in line for a big year. He also won't have Jalen Green in his way either, and will have more team-oriented players around him. His assists should go up by having KD taking passes from him instead of Green.

The one issue with this team that I think will be a problem is it lacks in 3pt shooting. They will likely need to make a trade to get someone to help with that, and try to stay under the luxury tax. I'm not sure if that's possible, but we will see. There are a lot of interesting guys that could be available at the trade deadline, and this team has the picks to make an impactful trade without sacrificing continuity.

Just saw a rumor that the Rockets are considering a trade for Trae Young. It would be Van Vleet, Reed Sheppard, Jabari Smith, and multiple 1st round picks. That's a shit load to give up, but Young hasn't signed a long term deal with the Hawks. The trade couldn't be made until October 6th due to Van Vleet's new contract.

Not sure how that would work with Smith's poison pill rookie extension.

I don’t love it. Even if Trae tried really hard on defense, it really would matter because of his size. They’d have to scheme everything around Trae being a turnstile on defense.

Also the Pelicans + the Suns picks would basically turn the Hawks into OKC east.

He's the same size as Van Vleet but a much better offensive player. The Rockets can surround any guard with elite on the perimeter. That's a lot to give up regardless, but the Rockets would easily be at the top of the West next season with the Thunder.

FVV is pretty thick and hard to move. He can defend players much taller than him. But yes, Trae is absolutely the superior player.
