A plurality of our fellow Americans: “hell yeah, that’s my guy”

And several more: "I don't always agree with his approach, but . . . "

Somehow this piece of shit can still surprise me. There is no bottom.

It’s like, ‘how much more shitty could this be,’ and the answer is none. None more shit.

I feel like I'm seeing that a lot less this time around. Why bother with the pretense any more?

"Tone down the rhetoric! How dare you not properly mourn a man who was brutally murdered because you didn't like his political opinions!"

You see, anonymous message board users and Sally the Home Depot cashier on Facebook should be held to a higher standard than the President of the United States.

If you would've said something like this about Charlie Kirk three months ago they would have gotten you fired from your job

Trump does at least three things every single day that would get anyone fired from any sort of normal job.

You're going to have to include the phrases "smooth-brained", "clown", and "touch grass" (among others) if you really want to maximize your parody.

Still can’t describe him as anything less than saintly.

But the fucking President posting that absolute garbage will, I’m assuming, be perfectly ok! Even really funny to a lot of people.

There was a time, like literally any time prior to 2016, where a President saying something like that would have been the biggest story in the world. Because it would have meant that the most powerful person in the world was objectively insane. And the discussion would have been how to remove him from office as fast as possible.

Dan Quayle's political career was buried when he told a spelling bee competitor that he needed to spell "potato" with an "e" at the end.

Howard Dean's candidacy was doomed by a 2-second shout.

Gary Hart was a notorious womanizer and that derailed his bid for the Presidency.

Donald Trump just keeps on keeping on, doing worse things every single day.

My wife and I were discussing this last night.  My message was "I truly don't think you understand how much I am going to celebrate when he dies.  Like, I won't be able to work for 3-4 days.  Imagine how the western world celebrated when the Nazis surrendered.  And how the French celebrated their liberation.  We're talking that level of celebration."

I went to see It’s A Wonderful Life at the Paramount last night, and the scene where the narrator says “like everyone else, he wept and cried on VE Day…” meaning people were crying tears of joy and relief en masse, made me think that if Trump dies in the next 5 years, it will be a similar sentiment around the civilized world.  I have fireworks and expensive scotch I am holding back.  I will take several days off from work to celebrate.  I just really hope he doesn’t live long enough to fade away and to have his heinous acts blurred by the passage of time.

And probably prosecuted, at least until the grand jury no-billed you.

This.

Because this is the truth, and always has been: Trump supporters fucking LIKE the open assholery, shittiness, and cruelty.  They don't like him in spite of that, they love him BECAUSE of it.  They wouldn't be supporters WITHOUT those things.

Because remember, the cruelty/shittiness/evil IS THE POINT.

And the irony is perfect.  If you wanted to produce the most anti-Christian (defining Christianity as "the lessons and teachings of Christ," which is, you know, the actual definition) movement in global history, it would look EXACTLY like MAGA.  FFS, even during the Crusades, the islamic opposition had more respect for the actual values of Christianity, and the practice of same, than the MAGA movement does.  Indeed, today, in terms of "walking in the way of Christ," 95% of the practicing muslim world walks the Christian way better than MAGA does.

I actually laughed at the word “reportedly” in there. Like Trump woke up this morning to a bunch of news reports detailing how Rob Reiner’s hatred of Trump got him killed by his crazy son.
