Hopefully, we can shut down this thread after this week. Fingers crossed.

Here's the forecast from 250 miles to the northwest. Check out Wednesday night.

We might get our first freeze Wednesday.

low of 32 on TUE and 29 WED.  From Halloween to Easter...that's when the freezin generally happens round here...give or take.

Blastfurnace gonna make a final push at lunchtime tomorrow before retreating back to Hell to begin plotting next year's reign of terror.

Definitely some "warm" days ahead next week after this front passes, but looks like we're all but done with evenings that don't get below 70. I can tolerate a November day that hits the low 80's a lot easier when it drops to the low 60's after sunset and the AC can finally catch a breather.

Sigh.  The storms Friday-Saturday did a number on our A/C.  Temps were tolerable through last night, so we made do until we could get a tech out today.  Turns out, all kinds of wiring is shot, and it will take a couple of days.  And today has gotten pretty warm, so we'll probably sleep downstairs where we have working A/C.  And who knows how much the fucking repair will be.

So, summer with one last "fuck you" before it packs things up, I guess.

I was #blessed to get to replace  both A/C units this summer.  They were original to the house and the house is now 20 years old.

My high school senior was sad when I told her I was spending her entire first year of college money on A/C.

Yeah, we replaced both units just a few years ago when we were flush with cash for a while.  Thankfully, the units are fine.  But our 40 year old wiring is not.  Because it's always something.

35 degrees this morning.

No freeze yet...or for the next few days.

We're at 39F right now but are under a Freeze Watch for tomorrow morning with a forecast low of 32F, according to the NWS. I think we're done here and can move on to the Winter Weather thread.

Feels incredible temp-wise, but damn is it windy today. Got literally pushed forward several steps by a ~40 mph gust walking outside of my office to go grab lunch earlier.

Really looking forward to tomorrow and Friday, when it's both cool AND calm. Planning to light up the fire pit and enjoy a couple heavier beers after work tomorrow evening.

Sigh.  Glad the temps will be nice, because our AC won't be getting fixed till next Wednesday.  Had our electrician come out for a full system check.  Yep, we got hit by lightning on Friday night.  A glancing blow, all things considered -- it took out our low-voltage stuff (one AC unit, our alarm, and tripped but didn't fry our internet).  Fortunately, we replaced our main fuse box a coupla years ago, and that had a surge protector that saved everything else.

Our heat still works, so we'll be okay on the chilliest nights.  And otherwise, we're gonna live like pioneers with no AC.
