Utah 85 wins in 3 years and trending downward.

Minnesota 165 wins in 3 years and pick ahead of Utah in the draft this year.  Not a single vet from that trade is still on Utah. and their picks from us are likely going to suck. Utah has no foundation and lost out on Flagg adding 3 years to their rebuild. minimum.

Very impressive that your team has a better record than a team that is intentionally tanking/rebuilding. Doesn't make that shit awful Gobert trade any better.

Do you know how much rebuilding fucking sucks? You dont just plop out stars year after year from having shitty draft picks in the 20s or your own draft picks in the lottery. Utahs fucking stuck while MN is repeat western conference runner ups. Ive lived rebuilding for 17 outta 18 years between 2004-2022. Just because you have picks dont mean shit. The players gotta pan out. They traded us a generational defensive legend in his prime. We overpaid but who cares. After the memphis series a few years ago we needed to shore up rebounding and rim protection. swing for the fences. yea he sucks on offense but you live with it.

you should be laughing at the clippers for what they gave up for paul george

You swung for the fences and hit a infield fly. Your $40+M center got you  2 pts, 5 rebs, and 1 block in your playoff elimination game. But hey, at least you can hoist that generational legend trophy. They will be talking about his defensive domination in that....checks notes.... 124-94 nailbiter for decades. Goosebumps!

Minnesota went to the Western conference finals 2 years in a row and 2 years in a row they were not competitive. Now they have to completely retool their roster with very few assets to do so

And to be honest, this year they beat a very flawed Lakers roster a flawed and Stephless Warriors roster.

The West is about to get very good very fast and them and Denver are the two teams that need to make some moves or get left behind.

now compare Ant with  2 conference finals appearances before a ton of legends in the game went to their first conference finals before age 24. Hes got almost 50 playoff games under his belt in 4 years, what was Shai doing at age 23?  Im not worried about Ant.  He cant help his teammates clanked wide open shots on the road.

Gobert's shitty contract also forced you to trade KAT. Congrats on the two western conference bridesmaid dresses but your franchise would still be better off having never made that trade. It was dumb then. It was still dumb even when you lucked out and came back on Denver. It was dumb after OKC ran you out of the gym. It will be dumb this off season when you try to retool with no assets. And it will be especially dumb when Anthony Edwards finally gets tired of this shit and demands to be traded.

Outside of San Antonio, who exactly is going to skyrocket to elite west tier?

OKC- already there

HOU- young, dont have a superstar, who knows if thye want to keep their vets

LAL-Will take a few years to build around Luka with lebron taking up 60M in cap space

DEN- Will be there, health is a huge factor with this team and any full season with Joker will be a blessing

LAC- meh, Kawhi and Harden arent spring chickens

MIN- got some decisions to make, NAW will be replaceable with Clark and Shannon in the wings

GS- Older than shit

MEM- shitshow

SAC- shitshow

DAL- No kyrie, bigs made of glass

Portland, Utah, PHX who cares

Yep, Wolves got fucked by the second apron and by KAT making all nba for the super max. Hes got 1 knee and gonna make 64,000,000. watch him. he can hardly move and always clutching his knees because he opted out of not having surgery last year. it was hte smart move.

Pacers are looking alive, finally.  No guarantees, but very possible this will be a 8 point or less game at start of fourth quarter.

one minute later and it’s 81-64 NYK with brunson at the line lol.

Yea. He’s one hard landing from laying on the floor. Again.

19 and 11 on 8-12 from the field and +25 tonight. That would be the best game of Rudy Goberts career. I don't care if he's doing it in a wheelchair.

wrong again, buddy. JFC its like your tone deaf about this entire super max. Rudys gonna make 30 million dollars less a year starting next year than KAT. KAT in 2 years might be the most hobbled worstest  contract in the league

All of this. Don’t see how the West is getting more stacked. Lakers, Warriors, Memphis, Dallas, Wolves, Nuggets have a ton of questions this offseason and could all be trending down.

I really loved Ant. When you have that athleticism and lead the league in 3's, I go back to my childhood and have Jordan flashbacks.  BUT he's in his own head.  He has zero killer instinct that fueled Jordan.  He's sadly going to become a malcontent and demand a trade within 2-3 years.  You can't change what's between someone's ears.  You can change a lot of other shit but that killer instinct is either there or not.

Jordan went to his first conference finals at ages 25 & 26, lost both, then made his first finals appearance at age 27.

Any more casual takes on ant or…?

Jordan's killer instinct didn't start until they changed the rules to his favor and was years older than Ant is currently. Sure, Ant could flame out but he's still very young and coming off back to back WCF. Jordan got his ass kicked repeatedly in the 1st round until breaking through.

It’s his attitude.  You think Jordan would say it didn’t hurt to lose like Ant did?  I don’t know why I’m arguing with someone who thinks Gobert is fucking great.  Lol

Yes and he was furious about it.  Didn’t disappear for long stretches and say ‘fuck it’ like Ant very clearly did.

Yeah, gonna have to agree with MN here (that feels gross). Dominating a conference finals as a 23/24 year old (or younger) is some gangster Magic, LeBron or KD shit. Pretty rare air.

What conference finals did he dominate?  Last year?

That's my point. He hasn't. Very few have at his age. I'm willing to give him some time. Though, I feel like his off-court proclivities will catch up to him much faster these days than Mailman, MJ, and Chuck's.

Guys like Jordan wanted the ball. Ant seems to have alpha skills with a beta mindset.

I feel like this game is an analogy from John Madden who used to say "whichever team can run the ball and defend against the run better wins the game".

Here it is whichever team can drive to the hoop and defend against driving to the hoop better  wins the game.
