Burton said Auburn is the early leader for Baxter

Good to know they’ve learned nothing whatsoever

Aside from Baker, Goosby and I guess Brooks, are there any other lineman in the program we would actually work to keep if they wanted to leave?

I guess Cojoe probably isn't going to have much of a market considering his lack of playing time and coming off a torn ACL. I'm interested to see what guys like Chatman, Kibble and Cruz do.

They’d prefer to keep Kibble, but he’s gotten interest from elsewhere, allegedly. There’s only so much a backup can be worth.

Cruz is not in love with the game or Flood is playing favorites and Cruz isn’t one of them.

Along those lines, I thought it was interesting how emphatic Sark was in the Arkansas postgame about Anthony Hill playing against A&M.
Then as the week progressed, it was clear that Hill wasn’t gonna play.
Finally in his draft declaration post, Hill made no mention of Sark at all.

I don't think any of these guys give a fuck about sark.

In relation to the conversation about how to recruit high school going forward, I had a really interesting conversation with a friend who is the grandmother of a 10 year old kid in California that is supposedly already getting massive recruiting attention.

She’s not a huge football fan but said that a bunch of the major programs have already been hounding them and have offered scholarships. At age 10. Amazing how deep the recruiting goes these days. I asked if Texas is in there but she didn’t know.

If you haven't figured it out yet, the staff loves that dude

I've figured that out.  They keep putting him out there.

What I can't wrap my head around is why?

No offense man, but nobody is offering a prepubescent 4th grader a college scholarship in football. Jesus Christ.

But all the outside perception is he is such a player coach and they all hug on senior day and celebrate after games like they love each other. that cant all be for the cameras

Yet they just give out Freshman All-American honors? That doesn’t make sense.

The freshman All America tackle we got in the portal was pretty spare

Not going to celebrate until he actually makes it to the portal without tripping over his own feet

On a positive note, maybe he'll trip three other guys we actually want to stay.

I’m trying to imagine what belief is off the table for someone who earnestly believes a 10 year old has multiple major programs offering scholarships.  This is way beyond flat earth or faked moon landing territory.  I’m sure there is something that would be more outlandish and unbelievable, but I’m coming up empty.

Its an absolute certainty that there are shady individuals out here in California representing themselves as being "with the colleges" to barely informed elderly family members at youth games. Funneling kids into sponsored AAU teams

Funny that they chose to use a picture of him upright.

And looking at the guy in front of him vs. turning to watch Arch take a hit.

Kyle Flood and Steven & 5 thought that this guy was going to do well as a starter at LG. Nothing kills my hope for the future under this regime more than when I try to fathom how in the fuck those two idiots came to that conclusion.

I just cannot reconcile how someone could watch Stroh practice in the spring and think to themselves “Yep that’s what we need to start at LG for a playoff run in the SEC”. There is no way Flood should be allowed to coach at Texas next year.

Assuming grandma isn't purposefully lying to make their grandkid sound awesome, I would guess she's getting relayed information from mom/dad coming from some trainer/coach of a select team that is spouting off about colleges he's connected to, and just mistook that as colleges in contact with the child.

Since Sark insists not running him off. He should promote him to main OC and turn the headset off. That way we can hire the best OL Coach he can money whip. The Peter Principle.
