The whole recruitment of that idiot and our collective dialogue on him around here, with your regular interjections, was great sport. I don’t have a Harvdog voodoo doll that I poke holes in or something. On the list of posters I’d like to give a running kick to the nuts from this site, you’re not even on it.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Popular Post This sucks, but it’s CFB now. He has to do what’s best for him, Texas needs to do what’s best for them. He’s been a great longhorn. How many teams other starting backs would you have taken before him? Fla, Ga, Ark, Osu. And maybe Sark is looking to get more physical.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Didn’t have this on my bingo card ! But hope like Hell Sark got confirmation whoever we want is entering the portal
December 26, 2025Dec 26 This always seemed like a delicate situation because he had to be our de-facto RB1 the last few years due to injuries and poor decision making outside his control. Now, heading into his senior year, we were going to ask him to, at minimum, be in a 1A/1B type role. Money considerations aside, he probably wants more of a sure situation in his final year.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Popular Post I don't blame him for wanting to be the starter, but it's also in Texas' best interest to upgrade the position.

December 26, 2025Dec 26 Popular Post Man that bums the shit out of me. If nothing else Tre fucking HATES aggy and played like it in back to back years. I will always appreciate that.

December 26, 2025Dec 26 Popular Post Logically the move makes sense for all parties, but man do I hate this current version of college football.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 I HATE this version of CFB. Wisner quickly became one of my favorites in the JWhitt mold. Stepped up big time whenever needed and a proven Aggy and Sooner killer. However, $$ and guarantee to be #1 are hard to beat. Gotta wish the kid nothing but the best unless he ends up playing against us somewhere down the road.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 You hate that average players who think they’re worth what great players get is ruining the sport? Interesting take. Business is business. Edited December 26, 2025Dec 26 by BurntOrange&White
December 26, 2025Dec 26 This is a bad decision for Weisner. I love what he's done for us, but he has shown he can't bear up as the feature back. Whole he knows the difference between injured and hurt, the nicks he picks up through the season limit his effectiveness. He would have been better served staying at Texas then going elsewhere.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Does this mean we have secured one of the top backs in the portal? Only thing I can think of that would make this any sort of a net positive. Tre was a big leader on the team, losing a lot of those players. Very very interesting. What pick do you have to be to make a million your rookie year in the nfl? It’s pretty damn high. Edited December 26, 2025Dec 26 by RockyMountainHighHorn
December 26, 2025Dec 26 I wonder if he is seeing what kind of portal offers he gets before declaring for the draft. He’ll be a late round pick but honestly don’t see him having a better year next year here.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 1 hour ago, Newy25 said: Damn. That's some shitty news. I liked his heart and his grit. Not the best back we have ever had but he did show up big when we needed him against our rivals... we are now paper thin in the RB room. Hopefully we have some big targets that we are confident in getting.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Popular Post aggy will pay him $1 million just to sit on the sidelines for the Texas game.

Must be way off the mark though because I'm sure the big money guys wanted to give him some love for the way he performed against our rivals. Sad

December 26, 2025Dec 26 Let me tell you, I am already so excited next year to hear how many positions we are replacing…every.single.game.

I tend to agree with this... being a longhorn legend that killed the aggies and sooners would've been worth more to him through our alumni/donor networking opportunities long term than whatever 1 year pay day he might get from another school before he goes pro.

His advisors should remind him that’s exactly what happened to him his senior year in high school. That worked out well for him in the long run. But of course advisors don’t give two shits about the long run

December 26, 2025Dec 26 I may be late on this but I heard that Simmons was offered an obscene amount of money from Miami to leave Texas and he's gonna stay but we had to pay a lot more for him as a result. We need a cap or some more controls on tampering and longer term commitments. Edited December 26, 2025Dec 26 by The_Great_Hornsby
December 26, 2025Dec 26 If another team is willing to pay him 1M to play next season then Wisner is making the best possible decision for himself, and I can’t be mad at that. I honestly wouldn’t blame him for leaving for 500k. I like the dude but we obviously needed to upgrade RB1. Any good running back can duplicate his efforts against Aggie and Ousucks.

Business is business. Yes, I hate all of that. Wisner was a recruiting after-thought with negligible pro talents who stepped up in some of the most important games in recent memory and far outperformed anyone’s expectations. In any other era of college football, he leaves this university as a folk legend and a symbol of the program’s turnaround. Instead, he’ll end up as just another guy from this era whose post-career activities will feature a degree from a school not named Texas. And yes, business is business. I understand why he is asking for more money just as much as I understand why we told him to kick rocks. It just sucks.
