Granted, I don't know shit about fuck. But with what's going on in recruiting, the GM of a major university football program ( insert UT here) needs to be a sales/ marketing savant with a huge staff of numbers guys behind him.

Not some room temp IQ yes man.

We can argue about misses. Whether they stayed at their original school , or went somewhere else. But there has been failure. Idk what the real story behind the Michigan OLs staying put. But if they stayed for a good bit less money, something is wrong there on the Texas end. One staying? Maybe. Both? Naw. Something ain't right on our end.

Texas needs a closer who can get it done. Harris ain't it.

He might have worked in the past. But this is a whole new ball game. And dude ain't equipped for this shit.

We just beat our Ohio State and Miami for the #1 LB in the portal. Try to enjoy it and we can complain about Harris later.

I think as opposed to something being super fucked up on the Texas end, it was more a mediocre GM deeply underestimating the power of inertia, especially for bluebloods with top of the line everything.

We’re starting to land key guys at other positions, if we continue to struggle only with OL, that sounds like a Flood problem.

I got the impression Trey Owen's got sideways with the staff and burned bridges.

He was penciled in as Arch's backup going into last season. Was it Caldwell? Or was the falling out the reason for Caldwell?

But he went from a pretty popular player to the invisible man. That combined with his social media activity, leads me to believe there is major bad blood in the background.

I think Owen's going to ark state is because the program didn't talk him up. Its very obvious Owen's isn't working to smooth the visuals. And if that's the case, and a coach calling sark and staff for info on Owen's, probably wouldn't get a glowing recommendation on a guy a program would be looking to place a ton of responsibility on.

BUt that's just what I imagine I'm seeing between the lines. Could be totally wrong. Wish he had left on better terms. Really liked him as a player. But the attitude he's shown lately, im glad to see him go. And don't give a shit what he does from here on out.

Or they don’t want to take just anybody and they're trying to find the right ones, not jags

I assume they do that with every position.

Come on, dude.

Four times?

Anyone know what the deal with Owen’s’ is or maybe just some rambling speculation?

Are we still targeting that Cal LB?

I think IT and OTF both said we were today. I'm going to guess that is the case regardless of whether Biles is in or not.

I hate coming off as a grammar Nazi, so I typically try to avoid it. With that being said: the number of grown ass adults that have no clue how to use apostrophes infuriates me.

Yeah. We need depth still. Him and Barnes returning would be ideal.

Cryer seems like depth piece I think. Muschamp needs a lot more linebackers though for his defense.

Uluave is one of the best ILB in the country. I don't think there is a chance in hell of him coming here after we landed Biles. He is way too good not to be starting somewhere and he and Biles play the same spot. We definitely need to still get a backup caliber ILB though even with Biles and Cryer joining.

I don’t really care. Once you start badmouthing the program as an outsider, you’re dead to me. He could have gone and kept his mouth shut. He chose not to. Fuck him.

Bama site saying that Coleman may stay and go to their game vs Texas tonight. That poor kid deserves every penny of the ~3 million he is chasing if he has to endure Texas basketball during two different visits.

We’re winning at the half in a pretty good game.

Next year seems like it will be very unpredictable with the 30% or whatever of roster turnover outside of exhausted eligibility. This shit is insane.

We were up by 11 with 3 minutes in the half and scored a total of 1 point the rest of the way to lead by 1. 2nd half will get ugly

Bird in the hand wrt Biles/Uluave

Moore vs Coleman is an interesting one. I’d say both if possible, but I think Moore provides a different dimension to our team and we could find a 50/50 ball winner for much cheaper if we don’t wanna put Lockett in that role yet.

Lockett also had an issue with Moore during their recruiting cycle so maybe he leaves (darn) if Moore actually comes

Or maybe Owens was always a spare. What the fuck is all of this hypothetical trash? The guy was a mildly recruited low 4 star who came to Texas to be a backup and get a degree. Somewhere along the way, he became convinced he was something other than that and he became a bitch. He is at Arkansas State because he’s not very good, not because Texas blackballed him to other schools. Good fucking lord.

I know they're stupid, but genuinely what does pulling back the reigns even mean? Not texting him as much? It's not like they've pulled whatever offer they made

Edited by Teryor

Doesn't Muschamp pretty much run a 5-1-5 half the time?

We have 2 All conference level players plus a 5 star recruit and an experienced P5 as depth. Plus Okpala and whatever Cunningham is

Less vs fewer is also a real struggle around here.

In a world of 1 year deals it doesn’t make sense to pay a high school recruit unless they are going to contribute as freshman. Maybe classes of 10ish should become common at the major schools. Everyone else goes to a lower tier to get playtime and increase their value for the next portal window. It also means the Barnes move make sense. Everything is about maximizing your value for the next window. Better to get tons of snaps at Wyoming than very few snaps at Texas. Quality depth is now almost impossible and injury luck will go a long way toward determining the champion.

Muschamp doesn't really do anything consistently. He seems to be getting portal guys to play sort type of 3-4. Gargantuan DLs and versatile ILBs.

I agree. If he wanted to restrict his badmouthing to Brandon Harris, though, I’d understand.
