It feels like Scottie has the head on his shoulders to run this thing up but golf is a weird game. Just ask Rory.

It should be fucking great. Hopefully they don't take Rory's driver away again.

OK fine. I’ll choose my words a bit more carefully.

Dominating the tour like nobody we have seen since prime Tiger. Obviously a long way to go.

That's probably fair.

Granted Rory has a Players and Masters this season. Granted granted Scottie did that last season.

I just don't love the Tiger stuff. Tiger won 4 straight majors at his peak and has 15 total.

Tiger at his peak won a quarter of the events that he entered. Isn't this the first year that Scottie's won a tournament after April? Let's tap the brakes.

He won the Memorial, Olympics, the Tour Championship and the Hero World Challenge last year after April

Apologies. Could have sworn that I saw that all over the place at some point. But it might have been last year that I saw it. Delete user, ban post.

Scottie is inevitable. Approaching peak Tiger tour dominance. His ability to focus and execute every next shot is insane.

I still think if Scottie had a routine PGA last year in Louisvillle he wouldn't have had a letdown round on Saturday and would have won.

Lets pretend for a moment that Tiger wasn't carrying the monkey of sex addiction and relationship issues on his back - injuries and head scratching swing changes notwithstanding, he was so dominant that he equals and surpasses Jack.

I think Scottie’s upside is somewhere around Hogan and Palmer - 65 wins, 10 majors isn't far fetched. But I think he ends up with a slightly better overall career than Mickleson with 45 and 6. Comparing Scottie or anyone, really, to Tiger is ludicrous.

Tiger was such a massive force that it's impossible to compare players as the eras are so different.

Basically any player today 35 or under was completely influenced by Tiger. These guys now are all in great shape and keep their bodies right for maximum performance. That Scottie competes almost every single week against such a large field of talented players is really impressive.

I saw some clip of John Daly being asked who he thought was the best player of all time. He said Jack had the best career, but TIger was the best ever. And he mentioned that during the Jack/Arnie era, there were only like 10 players that could actually win a tournament. The pool of talent was way lower. Right now, it's higher than it's ever been.

10 players that could win a tournament or a major?

Thanks for recognizing it in the PGA thread - yeah, it’s a lot closer than you think! And no reason to think he will slow down any time soon.

But I also agree with HK that it’s impossible to compare anyone to peak Tiger in the big picture. But Scottie’s game is as dominant as we have seen since those days, and I think will only get more dominant.
