I think Oracle is the most overrated sports stadium I've ever been to.

The setting is beautiful, but the wind suuuuuucks and I thought the sight lines were terrible from the upper and lower decks.  Upper deck is so steep that you feel like you're a mile away.  Lower deck slope is not steep enough and it's hard to see around the people in front of you.

Cincinnati, in general, is underrated. Wife was offered a job there 6 years ago and it really surprised me how much I liked the city. The only reason we didn’t end up moving there was I also received a job offer in Houston at about the same time and the $$ in Houston won out.

Counterpoint: Cincinnati is in Ohio.

Sad thing is the Royals don't need a new stadium.  Kaufman is an awesome stadium to catch a game IMO.

It really is a nice park. Easy to get around, easy to park, and doesn’t feel  like its sole purpose is to suck your wallet dry.

But it’s also showing its age, and it’s getting more and more expensive in upkeep.

But the Chiefs seem to think they need a village of entertainment shit. They don’t.

Special session starts Monday. We’ll see. In a perfect world, they both stay put. Buy the land on the other side of Raytown and build the entertainment shit. Then run trams back and forth constantly.

I have been to around 15 MLB stadiums (although a couple have been replaced/upgraded).

Really like Twins stadiums as I like walkable downtown stadiums.
Fenway is walkable from Back Bay and have done that as well a number of times

Hated Nationals stadiums. This one to me needs to be an early season go as we went when Horns played Maryland and the weather was fucking miserable.

Giants (Oracle) is another walkable one when you stay in San Fran (depending on where you stay obviously). Used to have a beer truck/food truck firepit set up close to stadium that was a good time.

Wrigley of course is cool and they have really built up entertainment district around it.

Dodgers stadium is a shit show to get in and out of. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be hiking to uber lot.

I always pick up a hooker so I can use the carpool lane.

Love this thread!!!  I haven't been to a ton, but the top 5 I've been to are:

1) Wrigley

2) Oracle

3) Camden

4) Coors

5) Target

And honorable mention to Enron / Minute Maid / Daikin as an Astros homer.

irrelevant, but I fucking loathe all the corporate names.  "Coors", "Target", etc.  I suppose Wrigley was/is as well, but it doesn't bother me.

Same with Petco.  It's a nice place, but "Jack Murphy" was a better name.

CSB..  Did a week long San Fran trip with my wife in September 2004.  Alcatraz, Golden Gate, Lombard, Coit Tower, a day trip to Napa, a day trip to Carmel, and of course a Giants game.  I went online to search the Giants' schedule when we booked the flights and hotel.  The last night we were there was the only home game after a long road trip.  Bonds was chasing 700 HRs that year.  I remember saying to my wife "Bonds is just enough of an asshole to wait to hit that home run at home.  Let's see what we can do to get some tickets down the right field line and maybe catch a piece of history."  Sure enough, there's tickets available in the RF arcade on StubHub.  First row.  BUT, they said "obstructed view" on StubHub.  What?!?!  How is that possible in freaking right field?!?!  StubHub had just rolled out the "view from the seat" clickable link where you could see the vantage point before buying.  I clicked on it... no issues.  I guessed it was some sort of glitch, so I bought the tickets.

Fast forward to September, and sure enough, he's sitting on 699 after that road trip.  The area around the stadium is abuzz as we're walking up.  I had a scalper looking to buy tickets offer me $500/ea for those right field seats.  Nope.  Got in early, enjoyed some garlic fries and a a cold beer, and walked to our seats.  We quickly figured out why it said "obstructed view".  RF foul pole is in the middle of the seat.  Not next to it.  Not in front of it.  IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEAT.  As in, one of us was straddling the pole for 3+ hours.  My wife is a trooper.  She sat with the right field foul pole in her lap for 9 innings because I thought I may have a chance at catching history.  This guy did a post as part of a series on terrible seats about how truly dreadful that seat is.  Of course, Bonds goes hits #700 but goes oppo.  So, at least I can say I've been at one of just four games where a 700th HR was hit.

Globe Life has one of those. mdleast and I went around the stadium when it was a poorly attended Wednesday game. I found this one and it was about the worst seat I've seen next to sitting behind one of the pillars in the lower level of the Cotton Bowl. At least you can see if there's a strike.

At least Wrigley has a family name behind it.

Worse, it's southern Ohio, basically Kentucky.

The cheapest parking I've paid for was at the Reds stadium.  Drove across the river to the Kentucky side and they had a board walk area with a parking garage for $2.  Parked in it and walked across the bridge to the stadium.

One thing I forgot about Chase Park concessions is that they had Churro splits, like with a banana.  I got mine probably in the 7th inning or so, and the churros were so F'ing stale they were inedible.  My buddies were wearing my ass out for still eating the ice cream and everything else.  "The ice cream isn't stale"  LOL.

Would NOT recommend.

our other food/ drinks were fine.

I thought eating churro splits was a San Antonio thing?

If you ever are on the way to Denver or checking out Route 66 for whatever reason, or making a turn to Albuquerque, Hodgetown in Amarillo is a great place to see AA ball.  It opened in 2019, has free street parking, and is just a fun place to watch the Sod Poodles in action.

I’ve yet to make it down to Citi Field for a Mets game or Nats park.

SECN has been running a show on the CCL, have found it pretty interesting.  The season hasn’t started when down there last weekend, there was a game going on in Chatham last CC visit several years ago.

We just went to Bourne for dinner and then a game, then drove back and stayed in a cheap motel in Boston metro.

Spending a whole week on the Cape and going to games every day would be a bucket list item for me.  It would probably also be $500+/night for lodging, so...

Yep. Agree 100%. Great ballpark and game atmosphere.

Love Wrigley. Last time we were there we sat in the Catalina Club. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend you picking one up.

We have a baseball scrapbook that we make a page for every stadium.  I miss being able to put the ticket stub on it ever since they've gone to pretty much all digital tickets, but came up with a compromise for it.

I'll be there in a few weeks.  Can't wait.

How's the food there at the park?

Standard ballpark fare, burgers, peanuts, naoch, pizza, etc. But the thing to get is the dogs/brats/sausage (ofc) grilled in the stands out in the concourse. Top them yourself with all the Chicago fixings.

Only been there for a concert but good looking park and I like the idea of Lincoln Field and Wachovia Center also nearby.

I guess it's fine that they are adjacent to each other, but you're hopping the train to get back to walkable attractions in Philly. For that reason, I did not like their set-up as much as, say Baltimore.

Nostalgia is doing a lot of heavy lifting on that A tier.  Pretty embarrassing to have the newest stadium in MLB on the D tier.

Rate Field, which is I guess what the White Sox call their field now, is way too high.  Having been to five of the stadiums in your C tier, I would say they are all way better.

Yeah, of the current parks that I've visited, that's the worst one.

Rangers new ballpark belongs there, though. It's new and has a roof but it's a lesser form of Houston's.

Gonna be arguments for every list, but having CWS and Brewers at B level and Minnesota and St Louis D level is dumb as fuck.

Also I am like Beau is with SF except mine is Petco. I think it is overrated. I still would rank it probably top 6 or so I am not that crazy, but I dont think it is top 3 like a lot of people.

Agree on black sox and brewers.

Busch though, kinda meh. C at best, only because it’s in pretty good shape. To me it just has the blatant money-grab feel to it, if that makes sense. More about the commercialism than baseball. Last time I was there the staff sucked ass too. Long-ish story, may tell it at some point.

Haven’t been to the S parks. Have been to all the A list, LA and the yard aside. Two B’s in the black sox and brewers.

None of the C’s, since Atl moved (have been to Fulton County stadium.)

D’s get a busch nod, and at some point dbacks.

No F’s.

I’d like to hit more, and will at some point.
