Well, you're half right. I am new here. Some of ya'll might remember me from BC or BON 10+ years ago. But I'm also a coward. I only made an account because I'm in a c2c fantasy league and I took Daylan McCutcheon probably really early and I came here to ask if he's still the WR3/4. But I chickened out and decided to defend a forgotten Linklater movie I saw once on a plane instead. Place seems all right, though. Except that one guy.

Congratulations. It only took you one post to talk about the most boring, polarizing topic on the planet, fantasy leagues.

While you're not wrong, Houston suffers from not having an easily referencable phrase like "DFW" or "the panhandle" or "the valley."

New locker rooms again, eh? We rich.

Also, that's the wrong shade of orange...

Gotta be the camera right?

Although we did have something about that shade in our end zones for about 10 years.

I dunno man, they got the right shade on the names and numbers on the lockers...

I saw a Tesla on the way to meet a buddy for lunch today that was the same wrong color or orange in spots. Guy had a UT tower on the license plate and a horns sticky decal. I wanted to make him roll down his window and tell him that it was the wrong shade of orange and he should be fucking embarrassed.

Are Tesla drivers capable of feeling embarrassment?

If Baxter can hold up under full-contact play, that will be huge. Regardless, there is tangible opportunity to incentivize Clark, Gibson and Simon.

Sounds like Clark has passed Gibson based on practice intel from OTF, but still a long way to go until camp ends.

Did I miss the Sarkisian sledgehammer clips? I feel like I did. How do we get new locker rooms without a proper demo montage?

I don’t get it. All I see are reclining chairs. Where does the equipment go?

You mean other than the equipment lockers that were shown in the pics?

Please let me forget this. Reference Charlie Strong all you want, but that other guy makes me want to rip someone’s lungs out.

There are 4 pics in that tweet. 2 of them show the equipment in the lockers above and next to each chair.

If I’m being honest, part of me wants to say “Nice….”, but the other part of me is thinking “But that’s soft as f—-“

I watched Ole Miss vs Wake Forest last year in Winston-Salem. The climate controlled benches and helmet holders on the Ole Miss side did not prevent them from beating the ever-loving shit out of the Deacs and their metal benches.

There's some sort of pathological need in our hivemind here to self-flagellate in public here.

We need to bring up Charlie Strong and be reminded of his 3 consecutive losing seasons and losing to Kansas.

We need to bring up Tom Herman and be reminded of multiple losses to Maryland and flipping off a national tv audience and crying on the sideline and not knowing how to swing a sledgehammer and being a condescending fucktard.

We need to pay penance for Late Mack and taking Taylor Doyle in a wheelchair and signing guys like Chet Moss and Kyle Kriegel and avoiding QBs like the plague around Garrett Gilbert in order to avoid a Gale Gilbert rape risk.

Mix in the Cotton Bowl on 1/1/1984, running Colt McCoy up the middle in the Rose Bowl, and 66-3 and that'll do it for the day.

We potentially win the conference last year with a good punter.
It isn’t sexy but with how good we think our defense is going to be, it matters.

Yeah, Texas wins it without a dipshit special teams coach last year.

Spoilered below is a write-up about the freshmen performing thus far in camp from Bobby and Gerry.

It really is starting to sound like Littleton could be big time. This is class gets really deep if one of the last and lowest ranked takes becomes a true freshman starter.

Spoiler

Gerry Hamilton and I recorded a video report earlier today that will air here within the hour.

But I wanted to bring you guys a little more color to the discussion.

Here's how I personally rank the freshman so far (based on what we've heard and seen):

1. DB Graceson Littleton

2. OL Nick Brooks

3. DL Lance Jackson

4t. TE Emaree Winston

4t. TE Nick Townsend

6. QB KJ Lacey

7. DL Josiah Sharma

8. WR Daylon McCutcheon

9. DL Justus Terry

10. LB Bo Barnes

**

Some notes...

- Gerry and I actually had four of the same top five. Gerry flip-flopped Sharma and Jackson from my ranking.

- Kade Phillips and Jonah Williams were not included on this list because we haven't seen or heard enough from camp to justify including them (or not including them for that matter).

- Gerry and I have both heard this from multiple folks and based on what we've seen, there's no reason to disbelieve it. Nick Brooks could be as talented as any player in the program. We're not saying he's ready to go from day one or anything of the sort. Just that, as offensive linemen go, he's as big and athletic as you can ask for. And in the spring, he showed the ability to move people off the line of scrimmage and latch on to people at the second level.

- Outside of special teams and barring any injuries, the most likely freshman to make an impact in game one is defensive back Graceson Littleton. He is showing a natural ability to cover in the slot and a mental aptitude that is well ahead of a typical freshman. I don't know how much he will play - no promises there - but I was told that Littleton "will be a factor this year."

- There is only one wide receiver on this list, but two TEs. That is purposeful. While we've seen and heard of Kaliq Lockett, Jamie Ffrench and Michael Terry getting better, it's the two tight ends who look like potential difference makers of the group... at least for now.

- While Sharma gets a lot of attention at defensive tackle - and rightly so - we do not want to fail to mention Myron Charles. Charles looks the part. Sharma, however, is just one very large human being who has plus-athleticism at his position.

- Lance Jackson and Justus Terry have both looked good in spots. Both are high-end athletes. Jackson is more of a true strong-side defensive whereas Terry can easily mix between the 3- and 5-technique. Based on what we've heard, we'd be unsurprised if Terry sees pass rush reps from the interior.

- Outside of Nick Brooks, early returns on Jackson Christian and Jordan Coleman on the OL have been undeniably positive. Coleman arrived in camp in excellent shape for such a large young person.

- At RB, James Simon has shown some things, including during Saturday night's team section. Ricky Stewart is currently pacing behind at the position.

- We have heard recent positive reports about Smith Orogbo. He is practicing for the first time since his arrival this winter in Austin.

- Defensive backs Caleb Chester and Zelus Hicks are both practicing and performing well. Hicks, like Jonah Williams and Kade Phillips, is a bigger player for his position.

I've thought about creating a separate thread that was comprised only of a comprehensive list of nut punches and fuck ups over the years so that anytime someone brings something like it up, you could just link the thread and not have rehash / relive the specific trauma and thread derail. But it would be too fucking depressing to do it.

Wasn't Littleton a high 4 star? Like not event top 100, more like top 75 type player?

I think you should do it. There are a lot of ingredients with all of this for hilarity in those discussions at times. Also, numerous game thread posters would be in there weekly the first time Texas punted on a 3 and out, decrying that game as being the next catastrophe with 3 minutes left to play in the 1st.

If so, he was a late riser.
