We won't know anything until we see what was hastily scribbled on a bullet casing that wasn't fired.

And Keystone Kash tweets about it.

The narrative and blame has already been set.  For real.  POTUS already issued a statement.  Doesn't matter what the truth turns out to be, it's already been set.

Facts have no relation to "reality" anymore, moose out front shoulda told ya.

He died earlier today, how would he be posting?  Not laughing at the death, but laughing at somebody pretending to talk like that.

Also, I’ve seen people claiming this is an attack on Christianity when *checks notes* some of those people don’t consider Mormons to be Christians, but whatever. Interesting that it was on the day that the LDS President’s death was announced.

Edit: given it’s an LDS church, I have my theories that it’s probably somebody who thinks they are blasphemous.  Friend from high school whose family was and is involved in the Sugar Land church said they were always a little worried about the Christians that would talk shit about them not being Christians.

Sorry about this and I hope you don't feel targeted.  I doubt we will ever know why he did this.  There is no result to "hope" for, as far as uncovering a motivation.  My only suggestion is that anyone telling you why they think he did this is likely telling you what they want to convince others is his motivation, for whatever their own purposes.

It at least appears to be a lone mental case and not some organized targeting of LDS folks.

The timing of it when combined with the LDS Prez passing being announced is odd.

Just saw that it was a war veteran, which certainly changes the motive calculus.  Very likely severely mentally ill with no coherent motive.

A serviceman who served duty in Iraq? I'm shocked he had mental health issues.

That coupled with the dockside shooting, also from an Iraq war Marine vet, within the same 24hr block... Yeah nothing to see here, keep cutting the VA

All I can say is it didn't even take 24 hours - a bunch of LDS members went on social media to talk about how they are Christians just like a lot of other Christians, and oh man, did the knives come out for the LDS.  A bunch of people claiming this was an attack on Christians turned on a dime and started listing the ways the Mormons weren't Christians.  It's pretty ugly, and absolutely not surprising.

Attended a memorial at a Bible Church. The pastor’s sermon spent a fair amount of time assuring those who gathered that both Buddha and Mohammed were bound for Hell. Praise Jesus. Amen.

Cutting staff by 30,000 sure doesn't line up with your unsourced numbers. Plus, over a million veterans live in households that depend on SNAP and Medicaid - which have also been gutted by elmo and DOGE.

But I'm sure you're right and everything is great with the VA, if I just don't believe my lying eyes.

You said 'keep cutting the va'.  I googled VA budget by year.  unsourced....lol.  Then you put words in my mouth which is your go to tactic.  So, back on ignore.

each one of your links goes to a google search for "FY 202X", with no reference to VA budgeting? What words did I put in your mouth? You claimed that the VA is well funded and leave an implication that it means that it's fine and I'm overreacting. Objective reality disagrees with you.

Even if there is more funding, the people of the VA who actually work with our veterans have been sounding the alarm bells. So I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Goddamn dude, you are fragile

The very name of the church The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, isn't enough for some people to accept us as Christians.  If I wanted to know what a particular religion beliefs, I'd prefer to go to the horses mouth and not its rear end (not referring to you, just some people who choose to not educate themselves).

Dr Sister practiced there for a while, but we grew up in Grand Blanc. Or, at least, lived there for most of elementary/middle school before moving to Texas. Granted that was in the 80s, but can only imagine how devastating this is for that small-ish community. 💔

Amigo, actively not educating is government policy. Not just current policy, either, although an argument can be made many states are doubling down on that policy.

Well, you won't let non-Mormons in your temples, so there's that...

Dude. Don’t.  I have no problem with you being LDS, as I come from LDS stock.   My ancestors were there in Nauvoo when Brigham Young supposedly spoke in Joseph Smith’s voice - but a quick and simple comparison of LDS beliefs and what the dudes in the Council of Nicea decided were core Christian beliefs shows that you guys….aren’t.

And really, people who believe in talking burning bushes and an actual ark and a 6000-year-old earth have no business taking a dump on LDS folks just because Joseph Smith looked in his hat at the magic stones and deciphered the text that turned into the book of Mormon.

But what you call yourself is not relevant to the current situation. That doesn’t mean people get to shoot up your church no matter what your beliefs.

And other than the quirk where you insist you are Christian when you are clearly not under any definition except the one used by the LDS church, almost every LDS neighbor and co-employee I have worked with are absolutely wonderful people.   I would rather hang with them (and you) than the many horrible evangelicals and fundamentalist Christians who fit the Christian definition box better (despite not caring for the poor and strangers).

I obviously ran into a ton of LDS people when I was a scout leader at various BSA summer camps, and we always had a great time together and respected each other‘s beliefs.   We switched from our usual 5 gallon jugs of sweet ice tea to lemonade in case our LDS friends needed to hydrate.

This is the crux of it all.  I was raised a progressive Protestant (Presbyterian).  I harbor no ill will towards Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists, etc.  Based on admittedly limited experience, I don't think LDS beliefs overall align all that well with Christian beliefs, but that matters not one bit to me.  I don't hold my Muslim friends to that standard, for instance.

Just stop killing people.  Full stop.

You sound like a pussy libtard.  After all, when it comes to right wing violence, "I couldn't care less."  And how dare you criticize me for adopting the exact position of Our Great President.
