How about when we tie?  I think the 1984 season is the most disappointing in my life.

Yeah I referenced this year above - 6-0-1 going in to the stretch. I think that 15-15 tie was 1 vs 3, Texas #1. Then win only one the rest of the way and get skull fucked by stoops bros and Iowa in the freedom bowl. That was an awful season.

Still have no idea why we were ranked #1 to start the year with all we lost from the last 2 years. I guess the Arch hype and to hype up the week 1 matchup between Ohio St. Texas Clemson and Penn St had no business being as high as they were. We didn't fall off as much as Clemson and Penn St but we lost to a terrible Florida team and barely escaped an even worse Kentucky team we should have beat by 3 scores.

This team is boring as fuck to watch.

This

Yes, aggy's defense isn't championship caliber, but I'd much rather watch a shoot-out vs this offense's ineptitude. The defense bailed us out again. This must be what it's like to be an Iowa fan.

At least we could enjoy watching Ricky. We also knew after 66-3 we were getting a new coach, which made it a bit more tolerable.

Jesus I forgot Route 66 was 97. So I think it’s 84, 91, 97, 2010… jury is still out on this year.

I don’t know how you can say Arch is getting better after he played his worst game last night.

This.  The OL wasn’t great last night but it was a far cry from the florida game.

We're 5-2, ranked, and beat OU by 17 points you fucking losers. You're welcome to quit watching if you want - it doesn’t get in the way of my game-day experience.

Maybe Mack was right - too much winning is bad. Whatever this is I prefer it to our season being over before we even play in Dallas.

I agree with your sentiments as a whole.

A better, more level-headed title for this thread would be:

"The performance of Arch and the O-line are getting in the way of my game day experience",

want me to sum up this season?

Jelani McDonald

begged the ref for a hold while getting bodied by a WR 2x smaller than him.  If he fights through the block he either forces the Ref to make a call or he fucks that WR up and makes the play. Instead he ends up taking out Michael Taffee in the process of getting mowed to the ground

FUCKING GROSS AND SOFT 🤮

IMG_5176.thumb.png.db55bd457096bda2c3b9042a088d9d5a.png

2nd he hit a Jordan fadeaway to the Kentucky sideline in a 10-10 tie. .

That shit took the fucking cake

That pretty much sums all this shit up . .

ohh and just to add a cherry on top. Jack Endries getting fucking mowed to the ground through the whistle definitely made me feel good about our physicality

it’s this teams mindset. . . That country club fucking soft mindset!!!  It’s back

Was there a #1 ranking coming into 1997 or 2010?

Was the first College Game Day of the season doing a long segment on why the starting QB should just be given the Heisman right now because he’s going to be so good?

I can only speak for myself, but I thought the pre-season hype coming into the season with a brand new starting QB and and inexperienced OL was a little silly.

Odd to use one of our better defensive players of the year as an example of why we suck, but ok.

I fucking hated Herman so much, but at least he showed some emotion on the field, whether he was looking like a scared bitch against WVU, yelling at Gundy like a drama queen, or making fun of Drew Lock looking like a herp derp coach making fun of a college student. Sark just stands there or squats like a statue. It’s weird. Not saying I want Sark to act like a jackass like Herman, but I’m saying the team feeds off the emotion of the coach and it doesn’t seem like they’re getting anything like that right now and are just lost in the wilderness without any guidance to take their cues from.

I think this year Sark is completely out of his depth and knows he needs to pull Manning but won't do it because it will blow up everything.

If Manning transfers and is good to very good with a competent OC and OL, the Sark QB whisperer thing dies and Sark as the HC at Texas dies with it.

Jelani McDonald doing this reminds me of all the guys on D flexing their muscles after the opponent had a 10 yard gain on 3rd and 6 during the Charlie Strong years. It happened nearly every damn play.

Yeah but he’s gotta make the throws when he has the chance. He missed way too many. They weren’t hard throws.

One wonders has the pundits and $995ers been more realistic about Arch, the losses, and the youth on offense if we'd be a bit less aggro.

There are some semi-legit complaints that we should never have a "rebuilding" season, but I think that is unrealistic, even in today's landscape.

I actually don't recall a throw at anyone's feet last night.  Progress?

he dirt napped a throw to Wingo across the middle but it didn't make it to Wingo's feet so maybe you are right.

He has 3 games below 50% completion percentage and ranks 75th nationally in QBR. He’s awful whether he was hyped or not. His name and profile are the only reasons he’s still on the field.

If you bought into the #1 ranking when we had to replace the whole fucking offense except for an over rated right guard you absolutely deserve all the disappointment possible.

Any season we beat OU, especially when they're higher ranked, automatically removes Texas from any "most disappointing season" consideration for me.

This is a good point. Can it be the worst ever if you spank OU, a higher ranked team? Maybe not.

We beat ou in ‘97 too and it was still fucking bad.

That team quit on Mackovic.

CFB is the only sport where players quietly quit when they don't believe in a coach anymore. Look how much better UCLA is now.

One thing is clear: both at Florida and last night Sark’s body language conveyed someone who didn’t want to be there. A neighbor who doesn’t watch football came over to return something that they borrowed. Looked at the tv saw the score and said “is that y’all’s Coach? He looks like Texas is getting beat really bad or something. You can still win this.”

his body language isn’t the only thing but damn he barely reacted when we took the lead off the Shipley FG. Before we went to OT. He legit just shuffles down the field head down when the defense is on the field.

@Thatguy is right about the RBs. His handpicked skill guys aren’t panning out in the same way these guys he didn’t pick that are showing to be playmakers are. Like he doesn’t want to move off his guys meanwhile Niblet pops up and he’s balling but like a happy accident. It’s clear he wanted to run everything thru Baxter and he has no pivot for that. You cannot half ass CEO as a HC and also call plays. It don’t work. And sark is not talented enough as an OC to overcome that. Whether we replace Arch or not. Sark is not talented enough to overcome it. His floor is rapidly rising to meet his ceiling and on top of which he seems like he doesn’t even fucking want to be here. What gives?

Interesting comment. My wife said the same thing. She sensed something was off with Sark. Maybe his personal life is a mess with a new baby, relationship problems, etc. I hope not.

I’m sorry but this is the stupid fucking shit infecting this board.  This sunshine pumping mediocrity celebrating bullshit.  Only a half functioning fucking retard would post moral victory strupidtu like this.  This team is a fucking clusterfuck of dipshits led by the king autistic dipshit rolling out a fucking abortion week in and week out.   Losers cheer mediocrity
