I dont think NIL has changed the issue of getting recruits into ND academically.  That at least is the public complaint that is made.

Also didn't he already supposedly interview elsewhere once?

If the “leak” came from Sark, that means an NFL  team already approached him. Even Sark wouldn’t jump into the void ……or would he?

The Titans are dead last in the NFL scoring 13.7 points per game. Surely Sarkisian can score 14 points per game in the NFL?

So did Saban.

Maybe actual coaching acumen gets handcuffed in the NFL corporate world. There's more delegation, not conducive for hands-on guys.

~half of nfl head coaches call their own plays

~zero of them are constantly squatting taking notes not looking at the game

maybe that divorce would have been the best thing for Sark and Texas. Unless thats his kink, I'd pull a warden norton before making up with a cheating SO.

Back to back playoff appearances with a team that is currently 6-2 and while ugly still in playoff contention and some of you are ready to move on? I mean did some of you just become fans in 2020? We should have expected this team to take a step back due to lack of experience on both sides of the ball. It’s generally a young team. A lot of the blame for this season so far does lay at Sark’s feet but thinking we’ll get lucky and hire someone that can put the icing on the cake Sark baked seems like a pretty lofty expectation to me.

Exactly the same sorts of posts were made about Mack Brown while our football program circled and ultimately went down the drain.

Zero of these on field issues are new ones for Sark. Let me list then because its clear you and all then people repping your post are unaware.

1) The is the second 5* QB in a row who has clearly regressed during his time at Texas.

2) Consistent red zone issues during his entire tenure at Texas.

3) Consistent 3rd quarter production issues his entire tenure at Texas.

4) Consistent running game issues save when there was an RB who should have won a Heisman playing for him. He didnt win due to lack of Consistent usage of his talents.

5) Consistent pass protection issues throughout his entire tenure.

6) Consistent losses to teams of equal or greater talent. By Consistent I mean he is 1-7. That's true not just for his time at Texas but throughout his entire head coaching career.

7) Complete bungling of Offense line recruiting, development, portal funds and ultimately production.

I think it more likely your 2020 fandom comment more applicable to you as it's extremely clear you weren't around for the end of the Mack Brown era and didn't suffer through that nor Strong and Herman.

When there are consistent issues with a HC and his staff, during my life time of Longhorn Fandom, they have never been remedied save the blessing on one miracle worker name Vince Young and his near miss co-worker Colt McCoy. They overcame the coaching issues, and they shouldn't have been required to do such. Neither should all the players under Sark. Frankly, the players, fans and other contributors deserve better.

I am not good at spin speak but just to clarify that this  IMG_8717.thumb.jpeg.869898e9104aa4be5381619adc986785.jpeg
means this

Right?

PR Spin is some tricky shit.

Sark is like insulting our intelligence here by doubling down on rage. Sending out feelers in September? He’d have walked if the titans offered and left us hanging.

Damn, don’t like that. JMO

When he says that he’s pissed about something being reported as if it’s factual, to me, it pretty obviously implies an assertion that it’s not factual.

I know my take isn’t exciting at all but I guess I’m just a basic bitch sometimes.

it's a court of public opinion, counselor

on cross, would you demand a full denial?

mister sark, do will you testify that you have not expressed interest in going to the nfl, and state, here, under oath, that the statement by the athletic reporter is 100% not true, etc., etc.

Real talk, if sark is planning to go to the nfl he needs to make that decision asap with all the jobs opening. You can’t coach with one foot out the door. Either shit or get off the pot.

Is anyone hiring until January?

All the teams firing now are wanting their coach in place week after Thanksgiving to prepare for portal. This isn’t the old days and it’s why you’re seeing so many mid season firings.

You never know if the hire is coming from college ranks. Nothing is stopping Tennessee from hiring him right now if they wanted. As far as hiring other people from around the NFL not until the season is over generally.

I asked earlier, but when was the last time an NFL team hired a HC before the season was over?

Without looking it up, something about the Rooney rule and also Dei-like interviews need to happen? But I bet that doesn’t include a coach outside the nfl.

LSU is much more lenient in students killed in service of football preparedness?

One of the players got all fucked up and Kelly didn’t even go see him in the hospital or something crazy.

have not seen all 3 of these together.... for evidentiary purposes

+++

1. russini/athletiic

"I’m told that representatives for Texas coach Steve Sarkisian have let NFL decision makers know that he would be interested in potential head coaching openings, including the Titans."

+++

2, sexton

"Statement from the representatives for coach Steve Sarkisian:

Any reports regarding communications on coaching opportunities with NFL teams are patently false and wildly inaccurate. Sark is solely focused on coaching the University of Texas football team."

+++

3. sark/postpresser

“It really pisses me off that one person can make a report that in turn, the entire media, sports world runs with as factual to the point of my agency and my agents have to put a statement out.

“I had to do that to protect my locker room and my team. I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. I thought it was completely unprofessional of that person to that put that report out, and the fact that everybody ran with it is borderline embarrassing for the media. I respect what you guys do, I really do, and everybody else, but the fact that everybody ran with that as truth is really embarrassing. I’ve got a small circle when I make decisions on what I do and what I don’t do, and nobody would speak on my behalf without me knowing.”

+++

A. russini: <representatives for sark> and <nfl decision makers>......  so, his agents or his close circle ......  not sark...

B. if someone spoke on his behalf without him knowing, what is he going to do about it?

C sark's agency and agents issued a non-denial lawyer-denial that did not refute or contest the athletic reporting, and did so before any other college football media, either 'major' or '995', other than the athletic, and outside the Texas ecosystem, had reported on the athletic's assertion... negating sark's assertion that he "had to do that" (have sexton issue his 'statement') because "the entire media, sports world runs with as factual"

there are other either/or postulates that can be derived from the 3 data points

It was time for Mack to go but afterwards we were basically bottom feeders in the college football landscape for a decade plus. Outside of his first season Sark hasn’t given us 5-7 seasons, in fact I can’t recall a game we’ve been blown out/dominated since that Arkansas game. All I’m saying is it isn’t a given anyone comes in and makes us immediately better. Based on where we are currently with the current roster I feel it’s a bit premature to be calling for Sark’s dismissal.

You keep saying or implying this like it's an actual possibility.  It's like you have no fucking idea the NFL is completely different than college football with an annual calendar (draft, free agency, camps, etc.) that actually makes fucking sense.  There is ZERO benefit to an NFL team hiring their next coach before the season is over.

I’m saying it as a way it could benefit us and hope that’s the case. Would you rather know now or know after NFL season when there is no portal? 5 big time programs have ravaged the HC candidates.

JFC dude.  I fully appreciate TEXAS FANS would prefer we knew sooner rather than later that Sark was planning to leave for the NFL.  I'm trying to explain to you that it doesn't fucking matter because the NFL makes hires on THEIR fucking timeline.  At that is after the NFL season is over.  Because, again, there is ZERO benefit in the NFL world to hiring early.  Zero.

Yea I saw that too, and asked a dr buddy about it who gives a bunch of money to them about it. He hated the Kelly hire but said there was more to the story. That’s all he said. So who knows. But yea, Kelly cares about himself more than anything and did confirm that.

Thanks. Glad it’s clear but I still think if a team like titans wanted to they could hire him tomorrow and guess what; that would be their timeline.

I dont know the story here, but I just assume for all intents and purposes hes kicked off the team, but his brother is not and the parents are on board with the situation.

Could be totally wrong.

Same. I always assumed it was a quiet quit situation like Isaiah Neyor. If you look on the team videos after the games, he’s still dressed out and celebrating with his position group.

Not sure but just last week we saw a college baseball coach get hired away to a MLB team.

Basically a mirror image to this.
