I 2nd this. No coach is licking their chops to coach at this version of Florida. Results aside Herman was getting any job he wanted in 2017 and would have went to LSU if we didn't come in.

Secondly no other program ever got close to hiring Saban away from Alabama except for Texas. Same with Meyer almost pulling Meyer from retirement in 21.

Hermann was the big hire at the moment.  The fact he sucked doesn’t mean it was not swinging a big dick

LOL. Besides Mack and Sark, how many coaches has Texas had since Royal? How did they fare?

Sark was an OC from Bama. Let's not act like our swinging dick can get anyone we want and that person will take over without skipping a beat. History says otherwise.

Why must you burst all the fantasy bubbles everywhere? Meanie. 😂

For a program that went through 13 recent seasons of suck, we have become pretty soft due to adversity suddenly

Congrats to us, we got or almost got a guy everyone wanted. Again, how'd that turn out?

Except for tOSU and maybe Bama after Saban, every school wanders the desert of shittiness for awhile until they get lucky with a coach.

The point I'm making is those guys almost came when the program was a mess. How's the job look to those level of coaches with the current system in place?

This administration got Seven Win Steve to back to back semi finals. He's proved anybody worth a lick can win big here under the current rules.

there are accusations that he went AWOL for 30 days and has left the program on auto pilot. that's fine for a pool boy for a week but not a a guy that makes almost $1,000,000 per month. They've done a better job keeping this shit under wraps, but it's actually a lot worse than what happened to coach beard who had a public spectacle but ultimately was not prosecuted for the allegations (that many believe and understand to have started with a crazy woman).

The delusion of a Blue Blood HC knows no bounds but this was more power related than money. There are no coincidences and timing lines up perfectly after everybody and their mom called for Sark to give up play calling duties. The threat from Sark/Sexton was to let him have total control or he has gonna take his ball and go to the NFL.

Accusations aren't proof.  I'm not saying it's not true, I'm not connected.  I do have empathy for an addict, though.  You know, maybe consider the personal turmoil in the preceding 12 months.  As far as his wife goes, wtf?  Her "embarassing" the school isn't a fireable offense and frankly smacks of racism.

Assuming this is true, how did having a pro style offseason approach lead to the issues we are seeing with the team?

The theory is that the practices weren't physical/practical enough that Sark could see that he had shit for an OLine, probable shit for a QB, and likely shit for skill players outside Wisner and Baxter.

There is, for some reason, a disconnect between what Sark thinks his offensive players can execute and what they really can execute.  It has been apparent for several years, although to lesser degrees. Exacerbated this year by the heavy turnover on O. There are a variety of possible reasons for that disconnect, but we have no real idea which one it is or if it is a combination of things.  Possibilities include:

  • Light, NFL practices in off-season
  • Off-field issues, ranging from the known divorce and reconciliation, complete with child, to cuckolding and/or benders/relapse
  • Yes man assistants
  • Incompetent assistants that hide their incompetence (functionally equivalent to yes-men)
  • Pure stupidity and obstinance from Sark

fuck off with that, Texas is appearances driven (what i think doesn't matter). current players impregnating the HC's wife ain't nothing. having to go to rehab as a $10M employee isn't nothing. agreed re accusations and proof, but CDC and some BMD know.

If sark doesn’t want to be here then yes fire him.  Otherwise, unless you can get someone like Cignetti or Meyer I’d rather stick it out with him.

I'm still trying to figure out why people think he doesn't want to be here.

Missing Junior Day is the only thing that troubles me there.  That seems to be actual fact.  But it seems like a coach should get a couple weeks time off immediately after the season, particularly if going through a divorce or similar personal problems.

If his was the worst, you're challenging him.  Hard.

The administration and AD hated Beard's bitch too and she was arguably directly fucking things up adjacent the program, but they didn't try to fire Beard until he let it get to an embarrassing and untenable legal situation.

In that hypothetical, it's incredibly embarrassing to the University who is his employer and would hamper recruiting if it's public knowledge.

Meh we hated Michelle Herman as well. Race has nothing to do with it. Hell we hated sally too.

Absinthe is just a great show.

Sitting in the front row, slightly drunk, getting picked on by the Gazillionaire (and throwing it back at him) is just an outstanding evening of entertainment.

As for the Sark offseason stuff, I have no clue but something does seem fishy

Well, the only thing we know about Sark's wife is she's seemingly obsessed with fashion and makes Sark wear shit that looks completely ridiculous on a middle aged Armenian dude.

Other than that, everything else is just rumor with no evidence to corroborate. Including that she went cougar with a college player on her husband's team and got pregnant by it. Just wild, unsubstantiated, internet nonsense.

Not saying it's definitely racism, but not saying it isn't either. That could be part of the issue. Especially given the posters who seem to be jumping on it the most and the track record many of them have of supporting people who display racist behavior in our state and nation.

I mean it's Texas. Not a wild claim to say a good portion of the fan base could be racist.

there's no way current players fucking the wife of the head coach is ok if true. esp for Texas.

she's having affairs with the pool boy or family office CFO or whatever, who cares.

it's the overlap with the organization - HIS organization - that is the problem.

If y'all haven't heard some pretty despicable comments in the stands, or seen them on forums (including surly), then I don't know what to say.

@TwiceHorn made a salient point before I could:  we know Beard's girlfriend was completely off the rails in NYC and there was no move to fire him for that.  It was only when it got physical between her and Beard that the suspension and ultimate firing occurred.  Sark's wife fucking around on him is not a reflection on him.  Half of married couples experience infidelity.  It's unfortunate but it is true.  As far as Sark's loss of sobriety goes, which doesn't appear to be corroborated, I encourage people to talk to addicts you know about the daily grind.  Beyond that, even if he DID go to rehab is there any reason to believe CDC didn't know?

I agree that Sark doesn't deserve another raise.  I can't say if any feelers he had out there about the NFL were about more money or just an attempt to maintain control of the OC position and play-calling.  I don't really care, it ain't my money.

not directed at you but the idea I am a racist - fuck off with that shit. I can assure you I ain't a racist fucker - not in my thoughts, not in my actions and more importantly I actively work against inherent racism in institutions and organizational decision making which is where racism has the biggest impact on people. I'm not well known here so I forgive chuckleheads that make the accusation but if a person made that claim to my face I would throat punch them on the spot.
