Summary: Ever see a game where it looked like the team put their heads together and said "We're gonna have to do this ourselves. Fuck the coaches..."?

Bad News Bears. But it wasn't the team, just the coach's son. And "have to this" was throw the game. And it didn't work anyway cuz they won the game. But other than all that, it was surreal.

Thank God we have a serviceable backup QB with experience. Matthew Caldwell is the hero of the game.

Wingo dropped 6 passed that would have been at least 1 TD and at least 50 yards. Arch threw 200 yards in the 4th. Another hit a WRs hands that would have been 20 yards and Arch went for 356 despite the drops.

Take this BS to the Arch thread and cuddle with O&W

See when you spread teams out more they are further away from the LOS which makes it much tougher to blitz. But who am I? Just a guy who stayed at Hliday In Express.

Many teams are playing safeties at nickel now just to have a better blitzer there.

Actually, I think the coaches figured something out in the fourth to help give Arch some more time. I think they changed something. Arch hung strong in the pocket at least twice got the ball out when I thought there was no way he'd have time.

Sark just said it was a game plan / RZ design the qb could call on the RPO with press coverage in the RZ. So Caldwell saw the coverage called it and Mosley picked it up ran it and TD.

This isn’t a new position for me, but I wasn’t worried when Caldwell came in. And I’m hopeful he plays next week

The whole team looked completely different after the MSU shovel pass TD. Both sides suddenly started playing better

What? The WR corps traveled with the rest of the team, didn't they?

They don't take the whole roster. Some walkons stay. Lucky for Sark she only fucks 1st rounders. Sark needs to put life360 on all his 5stars' phones.

So someone explain what happened with the defense to all of a sudden just demolish them in the 4th?

The offense gave them a reason to play harder.

Take this shit to the Arch thread.

What happened on the first play Caldwell was in?

Who got us into position with a long  run for Caldwell to make the throw?

Who threw foe 356 yards despite 6 drops by Wingo, 76 yards rushing and getting pummeled all game.

Such a shit take.

I didn't really interpret his comment as a dart at Arch.  He was simply expressing gratitude that Caldwell is a capable backup.

Arch didn't have a perfect day by any stretch, but he played winning football for the most part and was a helluva lot better than last week.  Hope he recovers quickly.

Not really. The best throw in the Florida game was Caldwell. But this isn’t about shitting in arch even tho you are taking it that way.

How do you interpret "I'm hopeful he plays next week?".

Maybe he means cause we're blowing out Vandy but it doesn't appear so.

Why shouldn’t we blow out vandy? I mean by all accounts we should based on what you just said about Arch

I mean, all the dumb girls from Texas that don't go to Tech go there so to be expected.

Well they're worth it, but I will say they are well under Auburn (probably the best, tbh), Bama (second best), Oxford (3rd) and LSU. I haven't been to the Swamp yet, but from seeing them on TV they look magnificent. Hell, the gash at VTech is chef's kiss, but nobody knows because nobody that doesn't go there or live in Blacksburg (or Virginia in general) get to see them. UVA is also up there. I remember I went to visit my sister when she went there and got to see them. Weirdly, I remember it was in November and it felt amazing. NC, SC, UVA all seem have weather from another dimension.

But they have some solid 10s, but their hotness I would put the mean at around a 7-8. They are definitely below a few, but not by a whole lot. I would honestly in order of hotness, it would quickly be Auburn, Bama, USC, Oregon, and Oxford. But I haven't been to more than like 20 in my life, but that doesn't include stadiums in the Big XII (tech has smoke), Waco is mid, Aggy is lol, but I will admit I witnessed sone fine ass there. Never been to ou or Okie Lite. But yeah, those are my personal top 5. I am lucky enough to have gone to quite a bit more stadiums than a lot of fans. It's pointless to name them. Oh yeah, BYU has some seriously, seriously fine ass.

You want Caldwell to start over Arch next week, but that's not a slight on Arch after he threw for 200 yards in the 4th to win the game?

Okay, sure.

I’d rather have 4th quarter arch than whatever showed up against Kentucky and the first 3 quarters of MSU. Hope you can understand that

There's something about that catch... The foot was coming off the ground and so the catch had to be air-tight and instantaneous. There wasn't one millisecond of time wasted. Pretty goddamn close to a miracle catch. Who the fuck was that? Hats off to that dude.

I'd like an HC who calls an offense that allowed for 4th quarter Arch all game long, so I think we've found an area of agreement.

I’ve been pretty vocal about my disdain for sarks play calling. I’d prefer a HC that doesn’t call plays personally.

Emmett Mosley transfer from Stanford.

The catch was, imo, more impressive than the throw, which for the record was good not great.

Agreed. Sarkisian is terrible at game management. Right before Niblett's return there's no reason not to call a timeout there, but I bet Sarkisian was already thinking too much about his play call to start the next series to realize it. If you're going to insist on calling plays then hire a game management assistant to be on the sideline or in the booth. Hell, I'd do it for only $500k.

You guys can thank me for this win.  I was super sleepy because of being awakened at about 1:30 a.m. with a hailstorm in SA.  Just before half after Miss. St. scored, I gave up temporarily and went to take a rare nap.  I came back to the living room and there was about 4:00 minutes left in the third quarter and we hadn't scored a point in the 2nd half.

Yeah you’re absolutely right. I can only imagine he wanted the timeouts for himself which just doesn’t make sense in terms of game management. Pay this man!

I'd do it for $499,000.00

Texas can use the rest for new socks for the staff.

Best Texas punt returner since… Metcalf? I think it’s worth a discussion.

NM he was kick return.
