what data points are giving? “Our front 7 is bad ass just look at the results”

that’s just as subjective fucking moron.

the big 12 blows dick. No one cares and how do I know? We aren’t having a discussion on raider power or whatever the tech tards talk on, you’re on here a Texas site talking about tech because you need attention. No one fucking cares about tech. Eat shit and go to your site and jerk each other off.

Hopefully Sark uses the bowl game as a fancy scrimmage. Get Caldwell and Lacy out there. Get Daniel Cruz and the backup OL they expect to stay some reps. Get the kid receivers and kid DBs some reps.

Evaluation time.

There’s no reason to get Caldwell reps at all

Yea, most teams “washed” our O-line and most of them lost

It’s a big reason Florida and Georgia beat us. It’s a real path to Tech beating us and I wouldn’t say it wasn’t possible, but yeah that’s not where I’d put my money.

There are plenty of models out there and I haven't seen one that predicts Texas would be favored on a neutral field. I've been asking for it for hours at this point.

Show me all of them. I’m waiting

Yeah he could just like sit there and say what he really feels as a totally objective guy and they'd just set the lines that way

How could they lose?

Well, they’d have to attract betting volume commensurate with the kind of salary someone like him commands on the open market

Florida and Georgia also recruit much better players because they are flagship programs in talent-dense states. Tech fights for scraps and needs to portal everyone else in. The blueprint for beating Texas up front is easy to imitate but hard to duplicate, and I have a hard time believing Tech would have as much success as is being suggested.

Brian fantana: anything anyone on here says is subjective and doesn’t mean jack shit.

Brian Fantana: here facts about how great tech is from my perspective that outweighs everything any of yall say.

ok cool. Fuck off and get off our board then stupid pussy.

you think anyone outside of techtard Lubbock gives a flying fuck about tech and the pussy big 12 schedule they played all season? You’re basically the other mid major like James Madison or unt that gets in the CFP. No one respects the big 12 outside of Lubbock or Utah. Literally no one. So go bang an aids infested Lubbock chick.

Tech is going to be amusing in the playoffs. This will be similar to the time they finally made the Cotton Bowl in the 1990's after that 5-way SWC tie. They thought they were all hot shit and then got smoked in the game by Keyshawn Johnson and crew. There's a reason Tech doesn't have any national championships other than women's basketball in 1993. Tech has a losing tradition and always will. I wouldn't be surprised if they fall off the cliff in the B12 championship game, but hopefully not so they can get hammered in the early rounds of the playoffs.

Arch doesn't need much time to make plays, but also, how would you know? There's not a single B1G or SEC team on Tech's schedule. Tech opted to schedule Oregon State, a team that can't even beat Sam Houston in Corvallis. It's safe to say, Tech's front seven has not actually been tested.

Utah's O-line is way better than yours. They have at least 2 first round draft picks on that line.

Taking ole miss out is the right call. They lost their entire offense.

Objectively yes. But, feels gross and I’d like to see them get a win without Lane.

Figured as much, but a good chance to win your bowl game and a top 10 finish

Utah's OL has nothing of value to protect, and didn't look particularly impressive in Lawrence.

Then don't schedule Ohio State. Problem solved.

Someone upthread said something about "unwinnable" games. That's not a thing. At Texas, every game should be winnable. Hell, a lot of people thought we could beat Ohio State. So it's not about "unwinnable" games. It's about "unlosable" games.

Anytime you schedule a home/home against a top 15 program, there's a chance to lose. Especially if it's away. Doesn't matter who it is. Ohio State coming to Austin next year, there's a chance they lose that game. That's just the reality of talent accumulation in college football.

Schedule UTRGV or New Mexico State, or LA Tech... Those games should be virtually unlosable.

If we get left out of the playoffs, the committee is saying you get 2 losses max and it doesn't matter who what when how those losses are. So give yourself the most margin for error and go undefeated in non conference. So just schedule all cupcakes, go undefeated in non conference, now you have margin for error in conference.

That was me.

Unwinnable meaning no value in losing.  I believe you and I are on the same page.

Ok, I could say your OL didn't look particularly impressive against fucking UTEP, but that's neither here nor there.

What do Wolfe, A&H and Colley value so much about BYU?

Probably the most valuable thing in all of college football, a resume with no good wins and all good losses

Dominating every hypothetical matchup? Yep. Very much aggy from 2012-2023

Connor Stroh has been benched. I think Arch and the RBs have had decent protection since then. Unless you have Georgia's talent, I am not concerned.

Losing your entire offensive staff has to be >= FSU losing their QB rrrrriiiggghhhtttt????

That was the difference between #4 and #5. We're asking for the difference between #7 and #13 here. Maybe it still applies, but it's a different magnitude.

Lol if you think I'm the one doing this. I'm pushing back on chainsaw doing this.

All things being equal - which they aren’t - but you gotta drop two - ND and Miami should go - BYU is at least playing in a CCG

Absolutely, fuck ND and Miami. Let Texas in and whoever else and drop them both. In fact, don't ever let ND back in until they join a conference.

Facts, and if they aren’t gonna join a conference their spot counts as the G5 bid

Texas has already beaten three of the teams that these people want to rank ahead of Texas, and two of the losses are from ranked teams.

Be honest with yourself, if Tech had played those five teams (Ohio State, Georgia, aggy, Vandy, and ousux) would it have fared better than 3-2? Try the same thought experiment with BYU, ND (we already know they can't beat aggy), and Miami.

As far as any hypothetical matchup directly between Tech and Texas, feel free to disagree but you look ridiculous in the process.

A insecure tech fan coming into a Texas discussion about Texas making the playoffs playing the victim is aggyesque.

no one gives a flying fucking about the shit hole 12 which is why he’s jumping up and down in front of the big boy school that’s been the CFP semis two years in a row and a school that’s actually won multiple national championships begging to be seen and to prove they are better than everyone else with nothing more than “we’re better because I say so”

i bet he goes home at night and says “honey can I be on top just this once”

I mean, the models still have Texas losing to Oklahoma, Vanderbilt, and A&M, so I guess the models aren't all that great at predicting this team.

No you should go back to raider power. And stop being a huge pussy crying about needing attention from the Big Boy school you wish you could be apart of. It’s sad. But funny so thanks for the entertainment today.

NYT model with Texas having a 5% chance of making the playoffs (Miami at 1%, Vandy lower).
That seems low for Miami to me and about right for Texas.

Did it project what would need to happen for Texas to sneak in? I think Bama, Tech, and UVA have to win.

How do you think Tech would fare against tOSU, Georgia, AM, Vandy and Oklahoma if Tech had played them at the dates Texas did?
