If not this offseason, the next season we’ll see massive turnover on Sarks staff, no matter how much he wants continuity.

The season reminds me of 2019, where there was almost no game where both sides of the ball seemed competent. And coaches were fired, including Todd Orlando who was putting Joseph Ossai into coverage and blitzing safeties from Buda.

Here are my wishful predictions:

Gots to Go

>Jeff Banks, ST/TE - has something brewing with specialists but the penalties and game sealing onside kick should have led to immediate termination. As were the fake punts surrendered last year and the nightmare specialists last year. Tight end room has to be bottom tier in SEC. Im not even sure we have any tight ends who can catch AND block people. I would have left him at the airport in Athens. Man, I was pissed.

>Duane Akina & Co - Just atrocious secondary play the past 5 quarters. Florida also sliced and diced us. Dudes who looked locked and loaded when they first stepped on the field now look confused. Looks a lot like late stage Mack Brown out there. PK needs to pick a guy.

Should Go But Wont

>Kyle Flood, OL - He seems tied at the hip with Sark, but the lack of interior depth and development has been staggering.

>AJ Milwee, QB - Even though his confidence is better, Manning’s mechanics are still atrocious. Dont think you sack him going into Year 4 of Arch.

>Sark, OC - Bobo’s gameplan and execution were masterclass. Rarely have I’ve seen A+ gameplans from Sark. This year I liked what I saw at the OU game. And last year’s Michigan game. It’d be nice if he can reclaim a coach he likes and trusts and make them OC. I dont see him doing that.

Didn’t I read somewhere that the Akina hire wasn’t intended to be long term?

The Mack stench is too much for me.

Mack comes back and abortion ensues....man how I wish he would have stayed in NC, but money or fame in that, playing 2nd fiddle to Belichick

What about this Brandon Harris cat?  We sure a 30-year-old Tom Herman hire should have the extremely important GM job? In the current portal era is this the 2nd most important position on staff?

Was he one of the Sarkyphants last offseason telling Steve, "we're all set at RB and OL, chief!"

IMO, you spend OL, DL, and QB. I dont think you portal RB but we were like the only SEC team who didnt portal OL. We needed interior bodies badly

Mack has a national championship, we should have played Florida in the MNC and then the MNC against Alabama (If Colt didn't get hurt). I would prefer that Mack Stench over the Stark stench.

Sark needs to be told this is the offseason for the Hail Mary staff reboot. No staff reshuffling two years from now. He won’t, but he should be.

And it won’t make a shit either way. The same dipshit that hired these fools, and let them fall asleep on the job, will be in charge of hiring their replacements. Lovely.

Mack has proven that he loves Mack. He destroyed the program before he left, and he had to be thrown out to get him to leave.  He has not earned the right to be allowed to do further damage. He shouldn’t kept at arm’s length.

Akina was an old asshole when he left before. Let’s remember the good times and get his ass off our sidelines. You’re watching his damage each weekend.

LOL no. We got our ass handed to us because we lack a head coach.

Flood should be the first one to go.  Of all the coaches that have Sark’s ear for which he is one, he should’ve been sounding the alarm bells about the lack of experience on our Oline and he didn’t.  Either this or he was shot down by Sark which means Sark needs to go first.

Can't fire more than one coach and expect to get any bad ass coaches to come in.
Mass firings indicate dumpster fire. Good luck with the incoming hires.

Firing assistants is usually the sign of the death of a head coaches job. It rarely results in long term success.

He’s ass but Sark loves him. Sark has too many yes men around him in the program.

Gerry had been pretty clear firing flood would be a scape goat type firing. Sark is the problem

If Kyle Flood isn't fired the day after whichever crap bowl game we're in, then we are not serious about winning championships.

Flood seemed fine with Saban. There’s no way he looked in that room and said no thanks on portal

Reminds me of Brian carrrington.  Players loved him though.  What happened to that guy

Saban and Sark are no way the same.

Couldn’t think of two different guys.

Flood under Saban probably knew he couldn’t just be a yes man and cruise on the job.  Ultimately Saban made the final decisions, but he ran his system like a damn good CEO does and takes input from all angles and then makes a decision.   If you are not contributing to those ideas, a CEO will notice this and push you down to paper pushing status and in the coaching world that means just becoming a side note in the game program.

Flood under Sark is obviously not being challenged the same way.

This. At best sark has created a bubble and thinks everything is fine because his yes men tell him it is. At worst, parts of the program are on autopilot because sark is distracted by things in his personal life.

Sarks alleged 30 day absence after the cotton bowl makes total sense looking back at coaches that left and why their replacements have been underwhelming. Its pretty obvious the dude checked out 9 months ago.

Feb 7th- Blake Gideon gets the DC job at Georgia Tech. Replaced by Orphey who was at Rutgers 5 days later.

Feb 13th- Tashard Choice leaves for the Lions. Chad Scott was not retained by WVU and named the replacement a week later.

Feb 25th- Terry Joseph leaves for the NFL. Replaced in a day or two by Akina.

Pretty much.

I’d guess Neal brown gave Scott the green light.  Mack recommended Akina. Unsure if Flood knew Orphrey or had a connection.  But yea, he didn’t have time to interview.  Also probably why there wasn’t a spring game

This is a shit team and shit coaching staff that needs a full reboot.

Rebuild OL, RB, and DB rooms through the portal.

Fire Akina, Flood, and Banks to start.

When you get to the point where multiple coaches need to be fired, it’s the head coach.

I don’t really think that’s the case.

This shit will just be Charlie Strong redux. Shuffling the deck chairs so you don't have to pull off the bandage all at once.

none of the personal stuff matters

he's not going to hire an oc

he's not going to stop crouching on his knees and ignoring the game

we may beat pig

we're not beating aggy - and that should be the end

i remember feeling angry at everyone who said we were wasting time with thermensa, that it was too premature to declare him a failure in year 2 or 3

i remember agreeing with michigan fans who were adamant that harbaugh needed time - that it takes 5, 6, 7 years to put together a winner

but that was in a different era

in the new era, at a helmet school, if you are not winning against other helmets in year 5 then you are wasting time and burning money

0u doesn't count - that's a rivalry game and as we know the result in fair park is sometimes weird or inexplicable

if your players give zero fucks about spraying asswater on a national television nightgame

and they are completely oblivious to the implications of their behavior and it's effect on a million people who pay their salary

that's on the culture

that's on sark

he's franklin or richt

franklin got 12 years - results: 1 b1g title, 1 playoff appearance w/ 2 wins

richt got 15 years - results: 2 sec titles

the money should cut their losses now

give traylor a 3-year deal

make it clear he has to win in year 2

half the money is base

the other half is for wins

I’m not sure what Sark’s issue is exactly, but CDC has to force him to make decisions and changes.

sark is not currently a good HC. The OL is horrible considering how many years Flood has had.

OH for Fuck's Sake!!!! The only person even remotely close to Coach Potato was the Captain of the Titanic! Statistically the worst coach in Texas history? Coach Potato.  Good Lord the carbon monoxide poisoning in this dude's mama's basement must be spiking.

If Flood departs (and that's a big 'if') I hope we offer the co-OC/OL coach position to Sam Pittman. Legendary OL coach.

If we jettison sark or “mutually part ways” then we need a drill sergeant as a HC that is capable of hiring a kick ass staff/coordinators. Like a Cig but not Cig bc he re-upped with Indiana.

That’s a really shitty take. Money, prestige and opportunity are what people look for. Replacing an underachieving fool is plus, not a minus.
