i agreed with you 1000% before nil

So getting paid more money means you should spend less time trying to be a great player? That doesn't make much sense to me. Getting paid seems to me to mean you should take it more seriously and professionally not less.

I'm not sure if this is the thread for this but there really isn't one so here goes: how the fuck has Michael Taaffe never won the Burlsworth Trophy (for outstanding former walk-on player). It's named after a player who went from walk-on to All American, something Taaffe LITERALLY DID. And yet, the 2024 winner was Bryce Boettcher from Oregon and the 2025 winner was the Mestemaker kid from UNT. They're both solid players, don't get me wrong, but more deserving of the "best walk-on award" than Taaffe?

Because the award is given out by a bunch of Texas-hating Arkansas hillbillies.

I see that now. Wow. This is the kind of snub that should get them delegitimized - or whatever the word you'd use for it is - as a major CFB award. This is just a really, REALLY awful decision on their part and it's based on a "rivalry" where their shitty school has lost more than 71% of the games. The folks in charge of the Burlsworth "award" should be fucking ashamed

Hadn’t read this thread in a week…

”oh yeah, I’ll click on that thread to see if there are any pertinent updates I missed with the team” … clicks thread …

-hagbard celine’s descent into some form of madness continues to unfold on a post by post, thread by thread basis

-more whining about the bowl game not mattering

-apparently Michael Taffe needs to fuck off for considering his options for his best future outcomes

-more terribly unfunny AI garbage

-the Burlsworth Award committee all needs to climb in a car and have the driver fall asleep at the wheel on a two lane, rural highway

-some relevant team updates

Thanks, guys!

Quote

Following their worst rushing season since 1944, the Texas Longhorns decided to make a personnel change in terms of coaching.

The Longhorns brought in former Florida Gators running backs coach Jabbar Juluke to replace the recently fired Chad Scott, looking to shake things up in 2026.

However, it seems as though Texas fans and administrators won’t have to wait until next season to catch a glimpse of the new brain behind their rushing game.

New Texas Coaching Staff Hire to Debut in Bowl Game vs. Michigan

The Texas Longhorns have switched things up with the hope of improving their rushing game, and their new hire will appear in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl on Dec. 31.

It it will have been a month since we played and beat Aggys ass when we roll out a completely different looking team. I fully expect that it will look like ass water, but at least it’s football.

Defensively, yes. The bulk of the offense will play except Moore and he disappears in games a lot so everything might look pretty normal.

This site's love affair with AI slop needs to end in 2026.

Surly proposal starting January 1st, 2026: auto-negging any post with AI slop.

Nothing personal, just business. This shit has got to stop.

We’re playing Michigan’s back up QB, so should even out.

if this is a criticism of my posts that arch should sit, i am retracting my take based on counsel from maxhorn inre: we don't have anyone on campus to give minutes to for development purposes so he has to play

i pray to god he emerges unscathed

Derrick Moore becomes Michigan football’s first Citrus Bowl opt-out

Moore is the first opt-out of the game to go public. With him out, the expectation is that TJ Guy and likely Cameron Brandt, Dom Nichols, and the other EDGEs will work in his place.

It's not clear at this juncture if fellow edge rusher-outside linebacker Jaishawn Barham will play or if he'll opt out for the draft.
