the winner of the fifa peace prize will insert himself in to the biggest match of the day during the world cup next summer no matter where it is coast to coast

air force one costs $200k/hour to operate but that's a rounding error on the final bill for 3 complete advance teams for security and associated cargo/logistics necessary to accomplish this feat of sportsmanship that will cost taxpayers at least $10m per day, with a final bill exceeding a quarter of a billion dollars

i can bitch about this in this thread for this game because:

my father helped reconstitute the luftwaffe

my uncle did 2 tours in nam driving f-4s and escaped hot sams 8 times

my father in law was an intelligence officer on the forrestal

my great uncle drove a sherman across france and was the only survivor when his tank was hit in the ardennes

my great great grandfather and his brother were in pershing's artillery for 14 months 1917-1918; they were still alive when i was 5-6 years old; i remember being told by multiple ancestors to not ask them about france

anyway, i write out this long rant on the eve of the 250th anniversary of the founding of this great country to say to anyone on this thread who voted for the orange man....

outside of the cr....

today and today only...

fuck your feelings

I vote that Daryl Reaugh call the Army-Navy game.  Can you just imagine the obscure references relative to the game?

These announcers are drier than Thanksgiving turkey.

Navy about to get the 5th possession by either team with 3:45 left in the 2ndQ.

Army might just have 2 possessions this half and go to the house with the lead.

Craziness.

I am beginning to believe Brad Nessler is a fucking moron.

"this is going to probably be the last play of the half"  dude, army has 2 fucking timeouts and is clearly going for a kick....

and that was the textbook definition of DPI... you cant run into a guy full blast while hes trying to fucking catch the ball.

and I cant see shit on this replay... theres nothing definitve either way

Go Navy!

Found this old pic in files my mom had kept together. Those were some proud parents at parent's weekend.

Didn't stay, but the journey to get there will always be an accomplishment I'm proud of.

Wait. You don't get off that easily.  And there's no shame in the young folks who separate from the academies.
What happened after that and where did it go?

Hah Hah. Mom was PISSED when I left. Dad, Army Air-Corp and Air Force vet totally understood (he just passed away a month shy of 98 this past week).

I played water polo one season at Navy. Separated and went to room with @midtown at UT as an EE major. Got to the third Calculus and discovered that I wasn't as good at math as I thought I was, switched to Bio and graduated from UTSA.

Well done, Chico!

I tried to get there, too. Two people made it from Texas. I was #3. They told me if either of them turned down the offer, I was in. Nobody turned it down (because why would they).

Haha yeah I remember making straight As in advanced high school calculus with like a 98 average. Then toward the end of our senior year our teacher told us none of us were really ready for college calculus, because the h.s. curriculum was too limited. Man, she couldn't have been more dead on. UT calculus absolutely destroyed me. So did my ASE intro courses.

Always impressed with young people who get shit together to even have this chance. I knew I was a dipshit and fucked around too much so joined DEP like the second week of my senior year of high school. That was a fun year of high school. Left to basic 2 days after HS graduation.

Can’t let Army score
