No argument here.  He was truly ice cold until the calendar changed to 2019.  Just rare to see him that upset about something...which begs the question: is it about the "disrespect" (one day after being acknowledged for his elite defense) or missing out on money because of it.

Klay was ice cold for too long earlier in the season.  I think his vote is exactly where it should be, right about where Beal is and below the guys who made Third team.  I think they nailed First-Team All-NBA too, I suppose some could argue Embiid/Jokic and Durant/George but I'd lean towards the way it ended up.

Right, I'm not understanding how this is an issue.   He didn't have that great of a yr.   As a 3rd guy you have to really play well to make an All-NBA team

The money, definitely the money. Last big contract for Klay, and he knows it. He's gonna eat up all the money Durant leaves behind, and do so before GS needs to figure out what Draymond is actually worth.

Draymond at this weight and intensity is worth all the monies to a KD-less Warriors, even if his 3 point shot is still broken. Fat, unhinged Draymond is worth much less.

My guess is, next season, he shows up ripped and shooting for an All-NBA team or DPOY. If they make another Finals--or even a tough-fought WCF loss, what can you tell him?

If/when KD leaves, I 100% believe Draymond will have his best season since 2016 next year.

2018 - 34.3
2019 - 34.0

FG per game:
2015 - 8.1
2016 - 8.3
2018 - 7.9
2019 - 8.4

3pt per game:
2015 - 3.5
2016 - 3.4
2018 - 3.1
2019 - 3.1

Klay deserved at least 3rd team. If he played in Kemba's spot he would average over 30 a game. No serious NBA person would take Walker or Beal over Klay.

plenty of serious NBA people would, and there are legitimate questions as to how excellent Klay would be if he were a team's no.1 like Beal or Walker. also it isn't even close as to who had a better season between Beal and Klay. Beal's season >>>>>>>> Klay's. And there's no way I can confidently say that Klay would have replicated Beal's numbers in his position. No way.

One should look up Klay's numbers - especially shooting - without Curry on the floor during the last five years.  Probably somewhat interesting in seeing his utility in life without that huge gravity out there.

Hmmm....

PER:

2016 -- 18.6

2017 -- 17.4

2018 -- 16.0

2019 -- 16.6

WS/48:

2016 -- .144

2017 -- .129

2018 -- .094

2019 -- .095

VORP:

2016 -- 1.8

2017 -- 1.5

2018 -- 0.9

2019 -- 0.8

PIE

2016 -- 12.4

2017 -- 6.1

2018 -- 9.1

2019 -- 7.6

His integer numbers may be similar but his impact or advanced stats show a less impactful, efficient, and influential player.  It's sort of odd for him to complain about it coming off this year, but it is a contract year.

I’m lazy. How about you just post them here?

Klay is considerably worse when he doesn't share the court with Steph. Something to the tune of a 7% dip in true shooting percentage. Not a coincidence that his cold start to the season coincided with Steph's groin injury. Klay has been the main offensive threat on their second unit for over 5 years; but, despite often sharing the court with other starters like Barnes and Green, having great bench players like Iggy and/or Barbosa next to him, and playing against other bench units, the Warriors' offense has always struggled without Steph. All of those off-ball screens just don't work quite the same, and Klay doesn't really create for himself or others.

That said, not sure there's a guard in the league better suited to share the court with Steph, and that's what Golden State will pay him on. They compliment each other perfectly and have an argument for best backcourt in NBA history.

Heard on the radio, he lost out on $30 million because of the omission.

It’s a little ridiculous that a popularity contest determines how much someone is paid, but that also assumes that GS would have offered him the full supermax when they could offer $20M less and still be the highest bidder.

LeBron continues to lap the field in the "most annoying, childish, hard-to-root-for inconic athlete of all time" race:

Ali, Gretzky, Pelé, MJ, Ruth, Serena, Phelps, Brady...none of these people, hell, not even Tiger Woods come close to LeBron when it comes to constantly going out of your way to make people not like you. How you gonna send tour agent to the commissioner to try and get your coach fired? That is monumentally weak shit.

And this is why it's so irksome: it's like, LeBron- you're a good guy; you've done so much more the game, you've done so much for the culture, you've done so much for your hometown, you have a decent personality...so why are you such a bitch so often? KD spent 8 years having to contend with Russell Westbrook trying to prove he was better than KD, and yet he didn't complain once and we call him a bitch. What the hell does that make the LeBron?

That OJ guy is up there on the list. Tonya Harding too, then probably Lebron.

I sort of get not seeing eye to eye with the coach (LeBron probably has more games as a player than Walton does as a player AND coach).  LeBron's proven to be the best at what he does, and Luke Walton hasn't.
But he's made plenty of mistakes wanting to have his friends on his team.
Friends or yes men?

he's fired every coach he's ever had except for Spo, and that's only because (at the time at least) Pat Riley was still big enough to shut him down. he's the least coachable player in the league, and always has been, and he will never approach Michael because of that.

It's probably super annoying too if the winner didnt end up winning the championship.  Presenting the award during the first round is great because the winner still has hope of winning it all.  Might be a psychological boost for the winner too.  Contrast that to Dirk getting his MVP in a press conference after getting swept in the first round.

Yeah, I've hated these post season award shows in all sports.    The fans are a huge part of the celebration for a MVP.   It should absolutely be presented when the guy is still playing so he can get the trophy in front of his home crowd.    The NBA has got a lot of stuff right but they got this VERY wrong.
