Seeing early reporting that an FPV drone took out the commander of a russian fighter unit at their airbase near Kursk

https://news.liga.net/en/politics/news/na-rossiyskom-aerodrome-halino-ukrainskiy-dron-udaril-po-rukovodstvu-aviapolka-gur

Although the spin that Ivan is putting on the story would make even Roger ailes blush lol

Quote

According to the source, the attack killed the regiment’s commander, one of his deputies, "a group of aviation officers", a Russian military counterintelligence (FSB) operative, and airfield workers.

The drone, they said, was allegedly intercepted by Russian electronic warfare near the airfield, and then "safely landed" on the runway.

"The leadership of the aviation regiment and FSB officers arrived to inspect it and take further photos. When the 'respectable' delegation tried to inspect the 'trophy' UAV, a munition detonated," the source explained.

Although I do love the idea of a Ukrainian drone pilot playing along like they got jammed, and then hitting the boom button once everyone comes to gawk at it. I just can't imagine that even the russians are THAT stupid

So any bets on when we get the first depleted uranium explosions?

Soon.  It'll resemble the Russo-Japanese war, although I don't know if we'll end up with exquisite artworks such as this (but it'll feature the same rifle):

NSFW

Spoiler

Edit: That's really tacky on my part, but I just wanted to point out that somehow the Russo-Japanese war created a lot of erotic Japanese art.

Sounds like all the conscripts are acting like children and just shooting all their ammo and "treating it like a game of World of Tanks" (actual quote lmao). Putin is truly maintaining the great russian tradition of leading a bunch of drunk rapist into their own slaughter

Maybe dead, Ukrainian government is claiming it.

It really is fucking incredible how accurate Storm Shadow/SCALP is. They were launched over a hundred miles away from a jerry-rigged launch platform, flew threw air defenses, and landed multiple hits on target. And we know this because there's video from like 500m away from the impact point! Just absolutely insane.

The promise of the bomber mafia is truly realized now

US offers Poland rare loan of $2 billion to modernize its military

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration announced Monday that it is offering a $2 billion loan to Poland, which has been a hub for weapons going into Ukraine, to support the ally’s defense modernization.

The State Department said in a statement that Poland is a “stalwart” ally of the U.S. whose “security is vital to the collective defense” of NATO ’s eastern flank, and that such funding is reserved for Washington’s most important security partners.

The U.S. government is also providing Warsaw up to $60 million for the cost of the loan in Foreign Military Financing (FMF) which would support “urgent procurements of defense articles and services from the United States,” the State Department said. The $60 million is a loan subsidy meant to ensure that Warsaw can secure favorable terms for the loan.

Holy shit, missed this from April, but no wonder so many of those photos look the same - the Russians pay for those.  I'm going to have to make my own.

45 and 50 year-old first lieutenants....so much winning.  There is one helluva lag over there that we've seen in the reporting of deaths, but I'm guessing these guys were from the Ukrainian counter-offensive.

Also the first guy was a "deputy company commander for political work" which makes me wonder if he was one of the "barrier troops" meant to stop retreating Russian soldiers, and if so, if one of them fragged him.

The 50 year-old First Lieutenant that was mentioned earlier, they probably put more effort into memorializing him than they did equipping him.

The Barnaul museum must of lost it's standard exhibit rotation with the Smithsonian.

On a serious note, it would appear they are celebrating that he went to battle with some gardening equipment, a couple of hats, a roll of tape, and some highlighters.
