    Getting old sucks

You and I could be siblings. Very similar story with my dad that died from Alzheimer’s complications (as did his dad). Very healthy, hardworking lifestyle, lifelong runner, did all the right things. And that weighs heavily on me. Completely endorsed. One can do all the things and still end up with dementia, or get hit by a piece of a falling airplane. The point is to make peace with that.
  3. Yeah from the first UGA game through the end of the season we looked like pure dog shit in the second half.
  4. I'm tired of losing. We better not get swept by another last place team.

you aren't. don't think that your additions in this thread don't get read. i'll admit that our tastes don't exclusively overlap (you have a much higher tolerance for nonsense than me - which is a good thing) but about 10-15% of the stuff you post here leads to me listening to some new stuff so it is appreciated.
  6. Cavalry's coming, y'all.

That’s on top of not throwing all spring with his shoulder?
  8. They gave Wilson $6 million guaranteed. IMHO this is about whether or not it's worth keeping a third QB or risking Quinn being claimed off of waivers if he continues to play well and stays healthy. He's going to get substantial playing time in the preseason games to prove that he's worth keeping, but this is a guy who was injured within the first 3 games 2 of the 3 years he was here.

    Getting old sucks

Incoming philosophical question alert: Does it really suck though? Isn’t it just the natural order of things? And if you know it’s coming, and allow yourself to be ok with it not sucking, doesn’t that just help us appreciate and make the most out of whatever time we have?
  10. You have the attention span of a goldfish.
  11. Gruden lit up when he interviewed Quinn. Sure felt like he thought Quinn was the most mentally prepared QB he interviewed. I won't be shocked if he ends up having the longest career and is the most successful out of all that were drafted last year. I'm sure someone can fix his deep ball issues in the pros. Maybe I'll be wrong.
  12. bring ‘em all back
  13. Don’t give a damn about hype. Beat the Buckeyes on the road, and they’ll earn that respect properly (that’s not going to be easy, and yes, it might not happen in Arch’s 1st start as Longhorns #1 QB). Lose that stiff road test, and expectations will fall, at least a little, before the calendar even turns to September though there will be plenty of time and opportunities to earn them back before the CFP is seeded
  14. Although an experienced OLine would be ideal, at least we have a more mobile QB in the backfield that can make more plays with his legs if protection breaks down quickly. Even with the new OLine, it anticipate fewer self-sacks this season
  15. Only two movies that ever fucked me up were The Exorcist, which I saw for the first time when I was 8 or 9, and Prince of Darkness. The latter doesn't review well, but it's an older (1987) John Carpenter film that's just full of fucked up scenes. Oh, and Alice Cooper has a cameo role.
  16. Democrats who run in Texas should crisscross the state complaining about exploding energy costs and blaming Republicans. I think that will resonate with a lot of people, including those who might become voters on the issue of waning affordability.
  17. I hope you all forgive me for cross-posting this ... fun watch. Got me excited for the season. Note - first stop, Texas. (Not a horror movie, though.)
  18. Season's round the corner ... yeaaaaahhhhhh!!!
  19. I should get a crowbar.....
  20. it is more about him being able to go 100% for longer in a game which, in theory, will help him defensively. he certainly modified his effort when he needed to, to stay in a game. maybe you get rid of 30 bad pounds and add back 10 good pounds. I think it will help his outside shooting also.
  21. Swap "my parents" with "I" and you've got my most egregious parenting blunder. I knew what it wasn't, but boy were my 5yo and I surprised to learn what it was.
  22. This scene in scream always made me laugh
  23. This Fat Electrician guy initially appears douchey, but overall, his genuine enthusiasm for HEB is interesting to see. Learned a lot from it!
