  1. Past hour
  2. This is the techbro paradise that we've asked for, and they are delivering it in spades.
  3. That might make you feel good for a few minutes. But then it would dawn on you that our last shreds of hope just outed themselves for a performative stunt. We’re well past the point of showy, high-minded resignations having any positive impact. Better to have decent people remain in place to prevent catastrophe when it approaches.
  4. Amazing at the misunderstanding of Trump and Pete on why general officers should never applaud like Cletus at a Arkansas MAGA rally. I imagine that they will all have to answer for their lack of enthusiasm to the message today.
  5. Update: Exactly 1 year from purchase and initial synchronization, the watch is +1.9 seconds ahead of NIST time. Pretty damn fantastic. Will be interesting to see how the accuracy and thermocompensation hold up as the movement ages. I didn't take measurements very often throughout the year, but from what I could tell the rate of deviation definitely slowed down during the cooler winter months. Citizen's A010 and A060 calibres (rated at ±5 sec./year) perform TC correction roughly once every 24 hours, compared to ETA's PreciDrive movement which does it every 16 minutes. Presumably the Citizen movements have larger correction intervals to save energy, since they are solar-powered. I haven't checked the accuracy in different positions; Citizen's newest 0100 calibre (rated at ±1 sec./year) uses an 8.4 MHz AT-cut crystal with negligible positional variance, but the older A010 calibre uses a 32 KHz XY-cut crystal that can vary by up to 2 seconds a year in different positions. Outside of Hoptroff's CSAC watches which each contain a miniaturized atomic clock inside, you won't find watches more intrinsically accurate than these.
  6. Gonna be stuck in this "warmer than it should be but not awful" pattern for a while. Nary a hint of the next cooling front until late next week at the earliest. Highs will continue to run about 6-7 degrees above average until then.
  7. I though the steel shank thread was for food thrown together at home from whatever could be scrounged up?
  8. The Christmas Adventurers Club. It's as gay sounding as gay racists deserve.
  9. Zepol87

    Task (HBO)

damn you mfers made me so much more confused now
  10. I still see this guy at said HEB. Looks about as angry and in need of affirmation as you would expect. Ignoring them in the wild is your best choice.
  11. “(This) week is really an eye-opening opportunity to see our city and our transportation system in a different way and to build empathy for the thousands of Austinites who don't drive,” said Paige Ellis, Austin City Council, District 8. Why do I, and why does anyone, need to build empathy for those that don't drive? I've never had that thought cross my mind.
  12. Wash out in LAA.
  13. Agree completely with your analysis, but... I mean, we did embarrass the fuck out of them last year 49-17 so maybe they have a little more motivation for revenge.
  14. I mean, cool, but that was 30 years ago.
  15. You really tried to cook with this one
  16. Holy shit how old is OP? But it happens. I heard even Armybrat once fell for the "Your cousin in Pecos asked you to Pony Express him 20 greenbacks" -- but that was pre-Ma Bell or even telegraph lines. But seriously, my own Ma was scammed this past year not once, but twice, by the Toll Road texting grift. She gave two of her credit cards to them the second time. Why two? Because the first card gave her an error that it didn't work. Shockingly they didn't use the cards. Poor hackers probably had too many cards at their disposal and were understaffed. I am still debating just taking her phone away because barring a Guardianship, how does one stop it? If our fucktard politicians or, hahaha, consumer protection agencies, want to do something, they should allow for televised/YouTub'ed/TikTok'ed broadcasts of scammed elderly people emptying their catheter bags on these fuck stains. Or, and this may be too cruel and unusual, make them listen to "The Greatest Hits of Joe Tessitore" game broadcasts for a week straight.
  17. This is just stupid. Stop flagellating yourself. Famously worked out well for him and Gunney. Are we looking at a murder/suicide for BO&W and CTJ? Because I’m just imagining CTJ looking down the barrel of BO&W’s M-14 and thinking “well of course this is how happens.”
  18. If Houston trades Pena I’d expect them to get more than what they got for Tucker. So something like 2 MLB Top 75 prospects (preferably in AA or AAA), an MLB-ready BoR SP who the Astros think they can improve, and a solid controllable big league player. What I would really like would very likely require multiple moves; but hypothetically a 3-way trade like this might work: Astros get: IF Joey Ortiz SP Ryan Pepiot SS Cooper Pratt 2026 Competitive Balance Pick (from MIL) Brewers get: SS Jeremy Pena Rays get: C Jefferson Quero PTBNL (from 15-30 range on Brewers org list)
  19. Mole
  20. She won't have an office when she tries to return to her post
  21. Hope he’s better than his dad.
  22. You can persuade me that casinos have the right to physically trespass whomever they don’t want there. Online books? Fuck out of here. They should be required to accept action on any bet they are currently offering from anyone who wants to take them up on it. Exceptions only for actual cheating or criminal activity. Don’t like advantage players or arbitrage? Do better with your odds or choose a business that isn’t gambling.
