  2. If you are going to shoot people, dress like you're going to a luau. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/multiple-killed-hurt-in-north-austin-shooting/ Two people died and two others are hurt after a shooting at a Target in north Austin Monday afternoon, according to a news flash sent to Austin City Council and the mayor obtained by KXAN. Austin Police said the suspect is still at large, a social media post said, and will hold a media briefing. Austin police said the shooting occurred at the Target located at 8601 Research Boulevard, just before 3 p.m., the post said. The suspect is described as a white male possibly wearing khaki shorts and a Hawaiian/floral shirt. Police urged the community to stay away. “DO NOT APPROACH. For your safety avoid the area,” police said. APD also said the 8000 block of MoPac southbound frontage road is shut down between Executive Center Drive and Anderson Lane.
  3. I found out that it's a joke based on Zack Cregger's old sketch comedy show.
  4. The creamy creations starry night ice cream is fantastic.
  5. an odd number of hot dogs for 2 people? My OCD cannot handle.
  6. That might be the least self-aware sentence ever posted on this board.
  7. Two dead, two injured at the 183/Ohlen Target in north Austin. Shooting at Target in north Austin
  8. Lots of info coming in. Not sure how many dead but over seen a ton of cop cars in the area and police helicopter. Target off Ohlen Rd. I think they have the shooter now.
  9. was thinking the same thing during that scene.
  10. Didn’t dumbashammers claim the alternative would not be propaganda? Lmao
  11. ERRONEOUS!! And I mean it's not logic, it's opinion. As much as i like Empire, I still prefer Star Wars. It's my favorite movie of all time. So 1977 is still my year. Feel free to choose 1980 if you so desire.
  12. 8x points on all travel booked through Chase: Chase doesn't always give you the best pricing, but 8x points would most likely make up the difference. $250 x 2 yearly credit for The Edit hotels booked through Chase: These are all luxury hotels I won't be booking with $150 x 2 dining credit through Sapphire Reserve exclusive tables via OpenTable: Select restaurants I doubt I will be dining in Priority Pass + Air Canada Maple leaf lounge (when traveling on star alliance). Priority pass pretty much sucks these days I would use the $300 travel credit and most likely Peloton and Lyft credits, but nothing else. So that's $540 total credits.. I think I'm going to downgrade after I renew my Global Entry next month.
  13. To be fair, he never said for whom it was good.
  14. Northaven Automotive at North Haven and Central has been good to me for light-duty stuff. Also do a Mobil1 oil change for $80.
  15. What the fuck is that?
  16. HEB has decent pizzas and it seems that more often than not, they always have at least one variety that has coupons out that make it pretty fucking cheap. Last time I cruised down the frozen fatass aisle, you could buy one of these: And get a free pint of gelato. This shit is pretty damn good if you haven't tried it. And the flatbread turned out pretty good once I doctored it up with some fresh jalapeno and mounds of grated parmesan . Since I knew damn well I was gonna house both of those that evening, I thought the fresh veggies added a healthful twist.
  17. If I preferred an Arby’s Half Pound Beef ‘n Cheddar or an order of Chicken McNuggets instead of a Double Quarter Pounder w/cheese once a month, my wife wouldn’t bat an eye. As a treat, she thinks fast food is fine. I have some blockage in the LAD artery and my diet is so damn healthy (salmon, walnuts, oatmeal, blueberries, broccoli, spinach, apples, beans, quinoa, avocados, et al) that I will hit the wall and need a freaking break from my well-balanced diet and that’s when the Double Quarter Pounder w/cheese comes to the rescue. If I ate that hamburger more often I wouldn’t appreciate it as much. As long as the rest of your diet is solid, you could probably cheat once a week instead of once a month. Now, I’m going to do that, but, hopefully, your arteries are clean and you haven’t reached the point in your life where you have a cardiologist.
  18. Couldn't cut it with Prime so we're off to our next "celebrity" former NFL player coach
  19. This is the most unintentionally hilarious shit in this thread
  20. Hmmm well, if you have to stick in the line of logic I'd argue Empire Strikes Back was a better film and in 1980 you also get: The Shining Airplane Raging Bull The Blues Brothers Fame Ordinary People Brubaker The Dogs of War American Gigalo Altered States Stir Crazy Where the Buffalo Roam 9 to 5 The God's Must be Crazy Friday the 13th The Elephant Man (David Lynch directing Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt and Anne Bankcroft) There is also the Blue Lagoon which I never saw and honestly just looking at the quick plot summary... I never knew they were cousins. I knew they were both teens.. that um... yeah that plot aged very, very poorly.
  21. I mean, AI is doing a lot more than that now in some industries, but the amount of money being thrown at AI is only justifiable if general artificial intelligence and a significant elimination of white collar wage costs is just around the corner. At some point, investor patience will grow thin. I find myself in an interesting position with AI, as I have concerns as A) a tech worker in their last 10 years of a career, B) an investor with a not insignificant portfolio that is on schedule for a retirement and C) as a parent who worries about what opportunities will be left for their kids to build their own lives from. Some of the concerns from those different perspectives are in opposition to each other. Regardless, I have to be willing to be an AI-fueled tech worker now, or the last chapter of my career is going to be a lot shorter than 10 years and the rest becomes kind of a moot point. When someone like Elon has a generally available neural implant linking brains to the intardnet, and we start seeing tech workers gleefully getting implanted for the productivity boost of having a direct link between their brain and AI is when I'll say fuck it and become a plumber. Anthropic will have succeeded in making me a misanthrope
  22. I think they’d call it something like “Beat it to hell” or similar.
  23. After taking advantage of a lucky draw in the regional, Richmond Lamar got a terrible draw in Williamsport. They did not get a bye and if they win their first game they play Hawaii coming off a first round bye so will face the best pitcher the West champs have to offer.
