Coke isn't changing anything. Will they potentially offer a limited line of cane sugar cokes? Possibly. Will they completely change their formula because Trump asked them? No. CEOs have no choice but to agree with Trump when he calls but that doesn't mean that they really have to act on his requests. Now if this becomes his main focus then they may need to act more decisively.

recently happened upon this song and was really surprised to hear "that was a good drum break". didn't even realize that was a sample in "where it's at". sounds like beck's voice. anyway, beck uses lots of samples.

Cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, etc.)
troph replied to surlybevo's topic in Business and Markets
Well I’ve lost digital pictures at multiple times in my life and even as recent as 2016-2018 so until recently it was probably a bad idea for me to own bitcoin directly. Advent of the Wall Street ETF was very helpful for me. as for a true apocalypse, well we have tangible gold and silver and a couple of guns and more important a lot of water and shelter that remains cool in the summer without HVAC, so we have tons of advantages. as for central bank and fascist control (for purposes of this post we can assume left and right are capable but I’m pretty sure everyone knows how I view the current political risks), that is a risk, but for now I have to live with it. Owning bitcoin is a way to alleviate concerns, but it not my first priority. Our first priority is working on a second place to rightfully live (active measures ongoing), then we will add a second passport, same place as the second place with standard citizenship applications over time or if financially feasible a second passport simply for sale (unlikely but Malta, Nevis, etc.). from there it’s where to hold assets and even if I wanted to put more in digital currency not sure that’s feasible for a while. 5/6th of our NW is tied up in physical real estate (not a REITs) and closely held business interests (not publicly traded). The good news is the monetization of those will well outpace any currency devaluation and should even outpace bitcoin appreciation, the remaining issue - which I will admit at this point is unclear to me - is how to be flexible with the banking / domicile / location / type of assets to move that into when asset exits occur. With a second passport I could do a lot, but some of that depends on making drastic moves like forsaking US citizenship. Quite frankly I never thought that even remotely likely, but today, with laws passing at every turn that make my life either incredibly difficult or worse functionally unlawful, it is now something I have to consider. Unfortunately I need 5 more years and honestly will probably fall short by 25-30% of a number that makes all of this totally and easily doable. But we will see. -
"Trump kicked a beautiful strike, a lot of people are saying it was the best ever, right past Pele (who all American soccer fans know is the best goalie in history) into the net two days before and earned the medal." - White House Alternatively, someone told him about the Robert Kraft/Putin story. "I took out the ring and showed it to [Putin], and he put it on and he goes, 'I can kill someone with this ring,'" Kraft said in 2013. "I put my hand out and he put it in his pocket, and three KGB guys got around him and walked out." https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/heres-how-vladimir-putin-stole-a-super-bowl-ring-from-the-patriots-robert-kraft/

Now you too get to be mad at all the assholes who refuse to copy/paste articles as plain text so they show up as black on black.

What if it’s true (which I believe is the most likely scenario)? You’re railing on “performative bullshit” from the left, meanwhile the right won elections through “performative bullshit” insisting that the list exists and that all their political rivals were pedophiles. It worked. Our stupid as fuck electorate has proven they only care about performative bullshit. You still think the “left” should back down and take the high road? Do what prez says and just forget about it after all the bs from the last election cycle? Sounds like you just want them to keep losing elections which is why people are treating you like maga. This is the country we live in, there is no reason for the left to just step aside, even if it is largely performative at this point. He created this conspiracy, make him stew in it, for as long as possible.

But then one man's God is another man's false idol. I am still expecting a short list of little import written in sharpie followed by immediate acceptance on the right and immediate acquiescence on the left.

This is good to hear, from Benjamin Wolk (Georgia 247). Props to the guy - he has said the first highlighted portion below, over and over again. Says he's least confident re: Derrek Cooper to Georgia (of upcoming decisions): -
I mean, this is just blatantly unconstitutional but have you considered that you might just love the terrorists @Captainant?

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
Captainant replied to Reagan1k's topic in Business and Markets
No, I'm saying that the stock market is decoupled from reality, so arguing that the "economy is fine because stonks go up" is not really a thorough analysis. Oh, so prices aren't significantly higher than they were five years ago? I must have missed that the house I bought this year was literally half the price in 2019. Or that my same $150 grocery cart is now $250. I'm sure all the attacks on farm workers and invasions of build crews will definitely help with bringing those prices down too. -
That is a great, deep, thoughtful answer, and nice discussion. It's also the answer of someone who has never had to grow up with instability, and not for one day has ever had to worry about money in his life. Your perspective on accomplishment is significantly greater when it could mean your survival.

First time I've listened to the sound on that. "We love you president trump!" Holy shit, how pathetic.
