  2. Well, that pretty much sums up their existence.
  3. 25+ years ago, picked up a buddy to go hit the white bass run on the San Gabriel. He says "I haven't eaten today, swing through this LJS so I can get some food." So I hit the drive thru, he orders his meal, and says "and give me an extra sack of crunchies." They hand him an entire brown lunch bag full of those things. I sat there next to him like this:
  4. The Big 12 is famously a league of parity. A look at Tech’s schedule shows games at Utah, at ASU and at KSU. They can’t sleep against BYU or Kansas. UCF and WVU each are trying to get the old gang back together (Scott Frost and Ruch Rodriguez). This will be fun to watch, especially with a bullseye on Raider Red’s chest.
  5. Yes, Hardwick is credited in the first 5 episodes and then Huss finishes it out. You really notice it in episode 6
  6. Just drove past the exit on my way to NYC
  7. Correct. "Texas Republicans put sucking Donald Trump's dick first, and put serving the people of Texas last. That's all you need to know." That's all that the Dems should be saying.
  8. Pretty sure you and many others said the exact same thing in 2021.
  9. Concussed? But seriously - Texas and Ohio State are the clear #1 and #2 in the country - it's pretty damn obvious when they got 70% of the first place votes. Fans can squabble about 3-6 all they want, but that's where ND, PSU, Georgia and Clemson are. Ohio State, ND and Oregon have big QB question marks Clemson has the best returning QB ND has the best returning RB Texas has the best returning defense + Arch and some darn good skill positions Ohio State has the best returning skill positions at WR and TE (Klare) Texas, Ohio State, Clemson, ND have the coaching edge over Penn State
  10. no, we don't. we have been living under minority rule my whole life. the r's have been gaming things in their favor since the dawn of time because they know ultimately their policies are not popular. we're looking at things through a current lens, but historians will will see this for what it is - one party completely capitulating and selling its soul for power to the worst and most abhorrent members of society. whatever bullshit they have pulled since Richards (I dunno, I was a kid at the time and I'm not keen to brush up on Texas history that I lived through) it has worked. but clearly they are doing this because they realize it won't last. they have to keep gaming the system (read: cheat) to maintain power. they've done it my whole life, this is just one of countless examples and a pretty extreme one, but anyone paying attention for any length of time should not be surprised by this
  11. I'd put Knopfler in that camp. He's super proficient but he has a way of connecting with big audiences who aren't guitar geeks. I suspect it's (a) superior songwriting and (b) very pedestrian singing.
  12. It's so funny to see the pains you go to defend the legal process when your defense boils down to "the law doesn't matter and is in fact a lie." You don't even realize it, but you're effectively admitting that the people who are angry but don't know shit about the law are still fundamentally correct in their take on it.
  13. Texas House Republicans are holding hostage critical legislation to aid flood victims and advance property tax relief by insisting that the first thing taken up is out of state political concerns.
  14. bump Didn't want to start a new thread for this. Anyone ever had a dentist that seemed to pile on excessive work for you to milk your insurance? I started going to my current dentist about 3 years ago after a very very long time of never going to any dentist. However I took good care of my teeth and don't really have a sweet tooth so I never had anything bothering me. But I wasn't surprised when they told me I needed some fillings (like 4-5) since it had been so long. Over the course of the next few years, every time I went in there they seemed to find more cavities that needed filling, and we're talking tiny little composite fillings that seemed unnecessary to me. Recently I started noticing her start to schedule fillings for me that were never even discussed with me. I always had good insurance so basically never had to pay for shit which is probably why I never really made an issue out of it. Today I get a call from them to remind me of my next appt next week, which they tell me they have 3 hours blocked off for. I'm like "the fuck?". Turns out it's for a crown....... a crown that the dentist never once told me I needed. This would be a 2k bill that I would have to pay half of out of pocket. I promptly told them to fuck off and that I no longer wished to be a patient of hers any longer. Am I crazy? Or is this something that happens? I bet over the last 3 years I've gotten like 15-20 fillings done by her and I long suspected that she was milking it because I had such good insurance (my company ins changed this year to a crappier one). Now that I'm starting to have to pay a lot more, the party is over.
  15. 4th&Five

    2025 ACL

    the schedule is out
  16. I just wrangled the kit I built my daughter back from her, since she's playing Gretsch Renowns these days. Small (20" kick) Keller maple shells, "hand-stained" matte black (meaning I did a shitty job). She has an Istanbul cymbal endorsement so I might get some of her hand me downs, but I need recs for hardware (pedals, stands, throne). Nothing road-worthy needed, I'm thinking PDP or the like?
  17. The roof the roof the roof is on fire. We don’t need no water let the motherfucker burn.
  18. They don’t exactly stick their fingers in their ears and ignore. They just do this:
  19. Thanks. No surprises there.
  20. Sigh. Yes fixed.
  21. Elk seems like a lard ass with no handle on discipline or effort. I would literally look at this sloppy fat ass and wonder why I have to put in the effort when his muumuu wearing fat ass is standing on the sideline. And then they overpaid for my mediocre ass to come here, so at least I got paid for a year. There are some coaches you look at and you know they're out there with their guys, running, working out, etc. And then you have Elko, who looks like he spent voluntary workouts eating pints of Ben & Jerry's in his office and watching out the window.
  22. Come on. You guys really expect these 51 people to stay out of Texas, away from their home and families, live on nothing for an entire year. Cause that is what it would take. Lets see any of you do that. This is performative and to garner national attention and for other, more rational states, to maybe counter a bit or at the very least start a national dialog about extreme gerrymandering. That is all they can do with the voting minorities the good people of Texas have provided. The population of Texas deserves the shit representation they have voted for for almost 50yrs.
  23. I got these because I always do. Last year was the low point I think, these are pretty good looking shoes.
