Kid disappearance case that never ends - Etan Patz
Nice Guy Eddie replied to Nice Guy Eddie's topic in Daily Texan
For whatever reason, the Etan case sticks with me much more than any memory of Adam Walsh. I'm definitely aware of Adam Walsh especially in that his father became a victim advocate and the pursuit of wanted people. Amercia's Most Wanted with John Walsh. Perhaps the Etan case was more on the national news due to it occurring in NYC where is where all of the national news was produced. and in 1979, I was in a household that couldn't even get cable TV yet so you watched whatever was on the 3 networks channels including news. By the Adam Walsh case, we had cable with HBO, WGN (Cubs), WTBS (Braves), etc. -
The question is it a pain tolerance issue for him and his happens to be pretty low. The article says that his hand felt better with less inflammation with the 2 injections he got last month before he took BP. It just doesnβt make sense to not continue with the injections if it was effective.

agreed he's never going to stay healthy for an entire season

It's holding my interest so far, but yes a little bit of a slow start. I love the scenes with the Co-Op meetings. All of the dealers meeting at the Holiday in Conference room with signs and all. They just need name tags and vendor booths.

Nice trip!

Do you think thatβs still true? Over the weekend I used Google Geminiβs deep research function with an intentionally vague prompt to test capabilities when given a complex market research and analysis task. What it produced, along with the methodology it used, were on par with a two person MBA team with 3-4 years of work experience assigned to a McKinsey consulting project and supervised by a partner: the facts were correct and abundant, the strategic insight was superficial and demonstrated no ability to discern counterfactual industry knowledge, but overall the output was very interesting and modestly useful, like a very high quality, custom-built Wikipedia entry. what used to cost $200-300k and 6 weeks can now we delivered in 30 mins

Fifteen Palestinians die of starvation in Gaza's deepening hunger crisis, medics say | Reuters If you can't connect the dots, the starvation crisis is reaching a critical point where people will start dying en masse. We're "pearl clutching" though. Holocaust 2.0

Was there last year and around seventh in line arriving 45 minutes before it opened. By the time it opened, the wait was nearly two hours for the back of the line. $36 lobster roll with a very impressive amount of lobster. Not weighed out in any way, staff just grabs a bunch of lobster and stuffs it in the roll. Fried clams were outstanding.

Epstein files update (there are no Epstein files)

This is flat out wrong and indicative that you are inattentive to races held primarily in African American communities. In many of those, a religious element is deeply tied into the winning candidates rhetoric. Iβll also point out that the evangelicals running away from the Democrats began in the 70βs and longer articles in The Atlantic and Politico (discussed here when they were published) link them to an anti-abortion movement that was truly an appeal to racial segregationists. Youβre not pulling these voters back in because you run a Talarico and he puts his faith front and center. Anyway, my main point is itβs a big tent and ascribing a party wide disfunction is to neglect races in which itβs a major element and in which a Democrat uses their faith effectively.

So heβs about to pardon Maxwell in exchange for her to testify that he wasnβt on the list.

I know it's not new, but watched the history of late night series on HBO this weekend. Probably an episode or 2 too long, but still found it interesting how these shows evolved from the 50s. I loved watching Letterman and Conan in my younger years, but these shows have evolved to the point you can take them in youtube clips to see the good stuff. I've re-discovered Conan recently on sirius with his channel. It plays his Conan needs a friend podcast and random clips from his shows over the years. He is very off-the-cuff funny and seems to have a natural ability to interview.

Something just dawned on me. Didn't the holier than thou Kirby Smart just waltz into Texas and grab North Shore's CB Chace Calicut with a big giant bag? You telling me Georgia "built a long term relationship" with him? His nickname is literally "Chacedahbag". STFU Georgia fan. -
You need to trade in him the offseason.

Looks like we are on the same pace. Season 3 had its moment for sure, but season 2 is a masterpiece in every sense. Not sure how I feel about S4 so far, 2 episodes in and found myself scrolling my phone often, usually a sign Iβm not invested. Will see how it plays out.

Did you also see how his last name is spelled?

I generally donβt like to talk about shit and poop and pee and all that, consider me traditional and old fashion that way. Butβ¦ itβs good to be home to my bidet after a near month in Mexico.

Not as much fun as Sham.

I'm a few episodes into season 4 now. Season 3 was still good, but to me not as strong as season 2. I agree with the assessment on Stringer...smart but dumb at the same time. He does what he thinks will advance them but doesn't operate within the unspoken rules. Saw that with going after Omar on Sunday and going after Davis. Everyone around him questioned those choices.

https://www.mlb.com/astros/news/yordan-alvarez-provides-hand-injury-update?t=astros-injury-report More detail here. None of this makes any goddamn sense though. More questions than answers and I'm sick of Yordan's constant hand bullshit. This is not the first season he's missed extended time due to a sore hand.
