    Getting old sucks

Getting old physically does indeed suck. Today Mrs. Brat & I both had results from last week’s scans/biopsies: She has a splenic artery aneurysm (1.7cm), and one of the spots on my noggin is a basal cell carcinoma. Ah well, it’s fairly common stuff that’s easily treatable, but still annoying to have to go to a new set of doctors and get whittled on. PITA
  4. We were lucky enough to get one of the fire pit rentals at crystal cove for sunset one night. Very cool. We did the paragliding about 15 years ago. Fun but for someone afraid of heights once was enough.
  5. Starting a thread. We are skipping Columbus because of some serious fuckery that made it make no sense for a large scale event. Home schedule only consists of 6 games this year - Arkansas and TAMU to finish of the season. Tailgates packages will become available soon, you can get a full season for $100 per person. You can pre-buy any single game before the season starts for $25 per person and early bird will be $30 any time in the season. Walk ups are going to be $40 unless they are with a full season pass holder and then they can use your promo code to get in for $25. A season pass will also get you early access and permanently discounted pricing for the away games we are planning to do this year (Gainesville and Athens) Pricing isn't finalized for those, but the season pass will be 25% off, maybe more if the economics work out favorably. We are targeting for away tailgates to be $125-150 per person all inclusive with a food and non alcoholic beverage option for $85 or so. We will have the same spots as the last seasons for home games and larger setups for Arkansas and TAMU. Things are changing slightly and this will not just be the Surly Horns Tailgate - we will change the name to something (open to suggestions), but Surly will be the primary sponsor alongside OnTexasFootball as the media sponsor. We are taking additional sponsors, sponsor packages come with a package of season tickets and you can have swag at the tailgate etc. You will also be able to offer discounted tickets to your customers/associates to get into a tailgate for cheaper. We are already the premier on-campus tailgate outside of Texas Exes, and I expect to continue to grow as we have more regulars and people who plan to attend the watch parties during the games. playback.mp4
  6. Yeah, this is hard as well. I live 20 miles from my dad. My sister is just down the street, half a mile away. She's older, closer and my dad prefers to deal with her. He's always favored her a bit, that's just a fact. I make sure to come by and see Dad when I can, and I'll buy my sister lunch when we go out, but the brunt of this falls on her. She's also a control freak and I think she secretly likes to be in charge.
  7. This is giving me PTSD from Sark's early years where he would give up leads in the 2nd half. Obviously that didn't happen this time around because our defense was stout as shit.
  8. wouldn't shock me that several people in attendance at that meeting with at January 6th.
  9. Baby woke up at 4, so we hit the trail at the base of the mountain at dusk. Once everyone else woke up and ate, we took a trail up Snodgrass. Other than not being a fan of horse shit on the trail, the 3 year-old managed to do the 1.5+ miles all on his own. Other than looking like the highest person in Colorado thanks to the dry air and early wakeup, things are going surprisingly smoothly and enjoyable with 2 little ones.
  10. Is it this? Because I otherwise have no idea what the fuck any of you are talking about.
  11. With my Dad dying with dementia, we mainly just talked about the Longhorns, Astros and I asked him a ton of questions about his childhood and my grandparents that I didn't know very well. Some stories were repeated a dozen times but he seemed to enjoy talking about them. His dementia did more of a number on his short term memory while memories from decades before were sharper, at times. I found that he just appreciated seeing that someone cared. who knows.
  12. That quote barely makes any sense: B’Tselem strives to end this regime (Israel’s regime). It is the only way forward for both Palestinian and Israeli. The only way to interpret it is that any remaining Israelis needs to be under Palestinian rule. And they (B’Tselem) thinks that is the way forward for Israelis.
  13. https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/29/politics/trump-duke-freeze-funding-health-race Duke University had $108M of federal money frozen because they're not hiring enough white people. Crazy world that we're living in.
  14. I guess I'm still skeptical that we can assume it was a Facebook sanctioned download of data for AI vs. a bunch of Facebook employees. They have 30,000 to 50,000 employees in the timeframe of the downloads. Even when employees know their are being monitored, people still do dumb things. This feels like the legal equivalent of "Trust me bro"
  15. Solene = my slutty kind of wheelhouse
  16. I don't know. But I want a live action version of the yellow swimsuit lady.
  17. one of the said employees. she came forward about trump raping her as a minor and 'killed' herself .....
  18. Looks like the typical methed-out grackle that I see in the Kroger parking lot.
  19. Who needs Woodward and Bernstein? At this rate he’s going to admit to everything straight to the press. Also, and surely completely unrelated, Trump wants generals to pass a loyalty test
  20. I long for the good old days when saying you had "binders full of women" was a seriously blow to a campaign.
  21. Largest opening for a Netflix US-based movie People tuned in
  22. Laura must’ve been really pissed to do that.
