What are your thoughts on who has the upper hand of recruiting the state of Texas right now and moving forward? There's zero doubt that the upper hand in-state belongs to Texas A&M, and that's likely to continue through the remainder of this cycle..especially if the Ags win the next couple of important battles for in-state top-10 talents that they currently find themselves in for Haynes King and Vernon Broughton. Some believe Devon Achane is a state top-10 guy too, and if I had to pencil Zach Evans to go anywhere right now, I'm not sure I could do it, but if you asked me whether he's more likely to end up at A&M or Texas, I'd go with Maroon & White over Burnt Orange.20 points

People should try doing a Trump Challenge for one month. Live your professional life by asking What Would Trump Do? Send out company wide emails with random comments. Also randomly attack people over emails for the whole company to see. Falsely claim that you achieved business goals and then insult anyone who challenges the truth. Follow up with flowery praise of your fake accomplishments. Claim to be the world's greatest on any subject that comes up. Be sure to also commit fraud, break contracts, show up to work a couple of days a week and never before 3 PM. Live like Trump.14 points

I was a little over a year old. He was on his first flight as an Aircraft Commander when it happened. He helicopter was hit by an RPG while on a combat extraction mission. He had been in country for about 5 months and had just turned 24. A few years ago I found this story posted. It was written by the guy flying the helicopter right behind my Dad. It's kind of wierd to read, but it did provide some closure for me as to what happened. Here is the story if anyone wants to read it. http://www.thedonovan.com/archives/2007/08/clearing_out_a.html For most of my life, I had never met anyone who had served with my Dad. About 2004, I was at work surfing Austin channel 8's web page and there was a story about a local filmmaker who had done a documentary about the Huey helicopter and what it had meant to the Vietnam Veterans. They had restored a Huey and flown it around the country and filmed veterans taking one last ride on a Huey. It was pretty cool and the story said that the film would be debuted about a week later at Bass Concert Hall. I badly wanted tickets, so I called the number listed and spoke to the wife of the director. They had done the film together. She said she was sorry that the premier was going to be only for people involved with the film, but that I could go once it was released to the public. I said thanks and told her why i wanted to buy some tickets and without hesitation she asked how many tickets I wanted. I asked for 4 (me, my sife, my older sister, and my mom). She also asked what unit my Dad had been in and when I told her she couldn't believe it. Three of the guys in the film had been in his unit and two of them had served at the same time. We went to the premier and then to a VIP party afterward and I got to meet the guys that knew my Dad. They told me tons of stories about him that I never would have otherwise heard. They invited me to a reunion they have every other year at Fort Rucker in Alabama. I went and met several more guys that knew my dad and many of them brought pictures. They adopted me as their son and wouldn't let me buy and drink for the entire weekend. I didn't pay for anything all weekend. They also had a website through which another guy my Dad knew said he might have some old 9mm video with my Dad on it. He took it have it transferred to VHS and mailed it to me, and sure enough he was on the video. It was only for a few seconds, but it was the only video I had ever seen of my Dad. That man died just a few months after he sent me the video. I still stay in touch with those guys from his unit and I'm forever grateful for what they did for me. This is a long way of saying, talk to those veterans. They have lots of unbelievable stories to tell.12 points

A poster on ITβs board is from Tucson and knows a couple coaches at Salpointe Catholic. He said Ransom is still in contact with our coaches and hasnβt shut his recruitment down despite committing to OSU. Possibly visiting for the LSU game.12 points

You need to ignore that they're something like 18-21 point dogs on the road in that game and focus more on the fact that they have Jimbo.10 points

From a Sooner - RIP El Ced. Great player. Losing Mike Gaddis and Cedric Benson in the same week is beyond shocking and more than a little weird to lose the best, ever #32s from both programs. Prayers for the Benson family.9 points

To an Athlete Dying Young BY A. E. HOUSMAN The time you won your town the race We chaired you through the market-place; Man and boy stood cheering by, And home we brought you shoulder-high. Today, the road all runners come, Shoulder-high we bring you home, And set you at your threshold down, Townsman of a stiller town. Smart lad, to slip betimes away From fields where glory does not stay, And early though the laurel grows It withers quicker than the rose. Eyes the shady night has shut Cannot see the record cut, And silence sounds no worse than cheers After earth has stopped the ears. Now you will not swell the rout Of lads that wore their honours out, Runners whom renown outran And the name died before the man. So set, before its echoes fade, The fleet foot on the sill of shade, And hold to the low lintel up The still-defended challenge-cup. And round that early-laurelled head Will flock to gaze the strengthless dead, And find unwithered on its curls The garland briefer than a girlβs.9 points

There isnβt anyone working for Texags that has a fucking clue about anything in recruiting except for what ATM coaches tell them. They donβt know jack shit about the JSN situation because theyβre totally irrelevant to it.7 points

Iβll nominate two. My a Grandfather for being a crew chief in India and Burma during WW2 and then re-enlisting and retiring a Major in the Army. Heβs 98 now and wears his hat every single day. And then Iβll nominate my father who was KIA in Vietnam. He was a helicopter pilot.7 points

In November 2004 after the Kansas game, I remember talking to Cedric and congratulating him on being awesome. What most of us remember from that game was VYβs 4th and 18 conversion. But it was Bensonβs strong and persistent rushing attack that carried the offense and kept us in that game despite the rest of the team basically taking the day off. Cedric was instrumental in getting us to our first Rose Bowl and making the β04 season the brilliant success that it was (not to mention setting up everything that gloriously followed the next year). He was also a good dude who was always kind to me, lowly team videographer though I was. He remains a Longhorn legend, and he wonβt be soon forgotten. π€π»#326 points

Midnight, around 10 years ago on W Courtyard Dr, I was making out with my GF. We're dry humping on the hood of my Acura. Cedric drives up and says βyo, I live right over here (pointing 2 houses away) yβall come overβ. Such a kind, bad ass man. Thank you Ced. The planet needs more folks like you.6 points

What gets me is how hilariously convoluted their logic becomes in order to believe what they want. It's not that Texas had a good team, and Herman may be a good coach, and that UT is an attractive school to lots of recruits for a number of reasons...it's that the B12 is garbage so UT gets easy wins, but when they do beat good teams it's because those teams didn't try, and Herman is a fraud that will soon be exposed, and UT is only getting some recruits because there is a large, well-coordinated smear campaign against Jimbo, and UT coaches are spending all their time meticulously "manipulating the national recruiting rankings" (what the hell is this even supposed to mean?)... It's beyond just your ordinary conspiracy theory craziness... (I mean, none of this is new...it just never fails to surprise me how strange they are.)6 points

Y'all some funny motherfuckers, carrying around a pocket-size computer with a mic or two, camera or two, GPS locator, and a multi-frequency radio - all of which can be accessed and turned on remotely, able to listen to your voice and other sounds around you, able to take still and video images, able to record your location (accurate to at least about 30 feet)... and able to transmit all of those, pretty much anytime... and you pay for the whole thing yourselves. And then you worry about more cameras and microphones being pointed at you? Keep up the good work.6 points

It was strategic. Georgia lost because they were so afraid of aggy and Ritzbit that they lost, in an effort to hurt aggy recruiting efforts. 23-d chess right there. However Ritzbit is playing 24-d chess and is getting absolutely everyone he wants anyways with absolutely no exceptions, so check and mate UGA. It means so much that they'll lose to hopefully negatively impact the recruiting rankings of an SEC team. This would have worked with any other SEC team, however you stupid sip, Georgia underestimated the Jimbo.5 points

No, no, you must allow yourself to watch hours of absolute anti-intellectual garbage and fairy tales made by high school dropouts on obscure extremist YouTube channels, or else you're just a closed-minded jerk. So sayeth the rubes on this site who have no intellectual ability to filter information in the information age.5 points
