You look at Kansas over there and it's just all about the tradition of Les Miles being confused that the grass at DKR doesn't taste like grass he's used to.14 points

Nah, ya know what, fuck Mattis. We’ve been lied to about “the adults in the room” and their moderating effect on Trump. They didn’t do anything to keep him in line. They just cleaned up after him when he threw his shit all over the place. Then those few “adults in the room” tucked tail and abandoned ship. At some point these old school “decorum and chain of command” is the most important thing have to say “ENOUGH!”. All of Mattis’s years of service don’t mean shit to me if he continues to remain silent about the treason he was privy to. At some point the greater good is more important than some outdated protocol. Silent collaborators are just as much to blame and a uniform with a chest full of medals don’t absolve him. Blah blah evil men triumphing blah blah good men remaining silent blah blah.13 points

All evangelicals are pieces of shit...because anyone who tries to force their beliefs on others is by definition a shitty person. If the evangelical Christians had their way we'd be looking at a government similar to that of Iran, or Afghanistan under the Taliban.13 points

Negged for being non-sequitur. Your attempt to put your feet on as many bases as possible to make yourself seem balanced is comical enough to almost cancel out the neg. You dress up Trump's coup complaint in deep state conspiracy sheep's clothing. You don't bother to support your point about Obama/Brennan/apparatus literally arming ISIS and how, if true, this constitutes treason against the US as opposed to merely the result of short sighted policy. Was the Iraq invasion treason for W? It's maybe the worst policy decision of my lifetime and I was against it from the first, but I didn't see the lying justification and fiasco of an outcome to be treasonous. Criminal probably, but not treason. Was arming what became the Taliban and Al Quaeda to fight the Soviets treason? Your point is weak. But, you're a peace-loving kind of a guy which the libs usually dig, right? You're just going to pilloried because of the ol' echo-chamberin', circle jerkin' lib cabal. Your arguments are so strong, that prejudice is the only reason they could be rejected. Slick.9 points

These posts always make me laugh. If he would have screamed and yelled 48 hours after a game people would be bitching about his lack of self control. Newsflash, a coach never has and never will win a press conference on the Monday after a huge L.8 points

Yes. It’s treason. I’m not joking when I post he should be tried, then hung if guilty. I have no idea why he gets a pass on this. Are we too sensitive to discuss these things?7 points

This is why it’s pretty much impossible to have a reasonable discussion about coordinators/play calling on message boards. It’s a bunch of people who have no idea what they’re seeing and are just angry the team gave up big plays. Orlando has a lot of issues, primarily the lack of development of young guys in his scheme for two years. Orlando needs to show improvement by the end of the season, or he should go, but people have been whining even after solid performances, like OSU. Most people on here whine about play calls they don’t understand, when the bigger issues are players understanding Their responsibilities and being assignment sound. A lot of the plays people have complained about (besides 3rd and 17 of course) have been much less about play calling and much more about players failing to execute or honor their assignments. It’s actually pretty clear. Roach has outside contain, like JBJ explained, while Mitchell has the inside gap. They’re playing a gap, not a man, so they both initially breakdown where they’re supposed to, but Roach gets impatient and loses his mind to dive inside, leaving no one for the RB and forcing Mitchell to ditch his gap and now chase down a faster RB. the play call was perfect for that run and if Roach just stays home for half a second longer, it’s a negative play. Like I mention later, if Roach had played DE last year too, maybe he makes this play. Instead, he gets over excited and doesn’t trust that the LB, Mitchell, will hold up his responsibility on the play, even though he actually did. Nope. They’re taught gaps, not covering a specific man, and you have their gaps mixed up. Also no. He played his assignment perfectly, he got to his gap and broke down, giving Hurts a give read, which should have been a 3 yard loss. if Roach stays home, the RB runs right into him unblocked. Mitchell also reacted pretty quickly by realizing Roach fucked up and chased down a faster RB. They weren’t frozen. The defensive play is to break down in their gaps, which both did. Roach just needed to stay home. Mitchell wasn’t hesitant, he did what he’s supposed to do in the correct play call for that play. Also wrong. Mitchell didn’t take a bad angle. He covered his gap like he’s supposed to. After executing the play correctly, he was in a bad spot to chase down a guy in a gap he wasn’t responsible for. It’s not a cluster fuck at all. It’s pretty obvious what was happening. 10 guys did their job and Roach got over excited on the first play of the game. This is what makes Lincoln’s offense so hard to stop. He gives 3-5 options on every play and makes the D pay for screwing up any one of those 5 or so options. It’s why almost no defense has had much success against him at all in the last three years. He’s the best offensive coach in football by a good margin and people should also take that into account that when trying to jump on Orlando for very single mistake in this game. A decent amount of mistakes are exploited against every DC who faces Riley. Still no. It’s not a man scheme. No one “has the RB” pre-snap. They weren’t tentative. They’re coached to break down in their gaps. If Roach had been half a second “more tentative,” then it’s a 3 yard loss. It’s a good scheme. A lot of good DCs run this scheme. Orlando’s coaching of it is a different story. Also, it wasn’t developed solely for the RPO. It’s a scheme that has risen In popularity particularly due to spread offenses. Just because you don’t understand how it works doesn’t mean it’s a horrible scheme. The first play was bad alignment for the counter. The second play was a fine play call. Jones should’ve kept outside contain and the play gets stopped for like 3 yards. Him jumping inside when the ILB was engaging the lead blocker killed the play and there’s no explanation for him doing it, other than he’s only played nickel for like two weeks now. Orlando hasn’t done a good job of teaching his guys things like leverage and containment. Often times, we’ve had guys in position to make plays (i.e. a good play call/scheme) and they fail to keep contain and we give up a huge gain. Still Orlando’s fault but not for the reason a lot of people aren’t pointing to. Another big criticism for Orlando is how much he moves his guys around. Roach should’ve started at DE last year over Hager, instead of wasting a year learning LB. Orlando needs to keep his safeties in one spot, instead of moving them around so much. It makes it really difficult for them to know and execute their assignments when they’re loved around this much. IMO, all offseason should’ve been Foster at Joker, Jones at Nickel and Brown and Sterns deep, but even if Orlando picked different spots for those guys, he needs to more consistently rep them at their spots, so they can really learn their position and the scheme. Lulz. We would’ve gotten murdered with 4 down and bracketing Lamb every play. OU’s offense is way too good to only have 5 available players to cover all their other options. Riley, especially with a running threat at QB, spreads you thin and makes you execute at every single position. 1/11 mis-executing and it’s a big play. That’s what makes Riley so good and there’s no way 4 down linemen and bracketing Lamb would ever work. What are you talking about? This wasn’t a mobility issue. Roach was right fucking there. His problem was that he moved, not that he had a lack of mobility to make that play.7 points

I'm surprised they got it done so quickly. It only took 64 hours to arrest him after he recorded himself murdering that woman, and then we all got to watch him murder that woman. But we still had to wait for him to get arrested for murder. Even though the entire world watched him murder that woman.6 points

Yeah, the issue of her having a gun is a whole 'nother layer here. I mean, it's the whole Texas ethos, driven home by our leadership time and time again -- protect yourself! Get a gun! The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun! So, here's 1) a person in her own home, who 2) hears an intruder skulking around her backyard in the middle of the night, so 3) she does what any Texan with a pistol does -- she pulls it out of the drawer, and has it at her side, in case she needs to protect herself. And.....4) she gets executed in her own home for doing EXACTLY THE RIGHT THING. Yeah, I know, don't bring race into it. But every damned one of us knows that the bold right to carry, right to arm yourself, etc.....well, that goes for white folks. Not so much for the black folks. White person with a gun? Exercising their constitutional rights! Black person with a gun? THREAT! THUG! Come on, folks. Shit, just pull up any number of videos showing that EXACT dichotomy. This story is definitely about our broken system of policing. It is also almost certainly about race. And it may well be about the 2nd amendment and the conflicting right to be armed and protect yourself....contrasted with the belief of law enforcement that anyone with a firearm in their possession is subject to summary execution.6 points

Wait, we looked BAD against LSU? That's the best we've looked all season IMO.6 points

Washington’s development/coaching hasn’t been good at UT, but the issues go deeper than that. Orlando’s scheme isn’t that big of an issue, IMO. The scheme has worked really well for him in years’ past and has worked really well for other good defensive coaches. The most glaring problem is the lack of development. All of our DBs, not just CBs, have been atrocious playing the ball in the air. Pretty much our entire defense has struggled with the concept of outside contain for two years now. We have guys blowing assignments often. Orlando’s play calls have generally put guys in position to make plays, but they’re not executing, which still ultimately falls on Orlando. he’s also done a poor job with personnel usage. Roach should’ve been a DE last year, instead of wasting his junior year at LB, where he was never going to work out. Foster should’ve been kept at Joker all offseason. Nickel is a waste of his talents. We’re now playing Jones at Nickel, who fits the spot well, but practiced all offseason at Boundary safety. Orlando has wasted a lot of development time by throwing guys all over the defense, instead of letting them master the intricacies of their craft. That showed up in a lot of ways against OU. Personnel is part of the problem and a lot of that stems from the shit Charlie left this staff from the 16 and 17 classes, but there’s been too many development/coaching issues to blame personnel at this point. I’m not on the fire Orlando is bus, but I’ve been saying since LSU that this defense needs to show progress and development over the season to keep his job. Right now, his performances seems to fluctuate based on the offense’s ability to exploit his known weaknesses rather than progress by our defense. That will need to change pretty drastically in order to believe he can be the DC of a team good enough to make playoff/win a title. All the fire Orlando talk seems pretty pointless though, IMO. I just don’t buy that Herman will fire Orlando or shake up the defensive staff. At most, I could see him canning/placing one of Mehrhime at another school and hiring a defensive position coach in their place. Green played more QB than CB in HS, so he was always going to be really raw, and a lot of guys who play CB all the way through HS still struggle to adapt to the college games until their third years. Jamison played slot wr, S, and CB in HS, so he also wasn’t likely to be ready to play right away, but this staff really fucked JP by wasting his first year at slot WR. He’s got great instincts and aggressiveness and we’ve seen him develop a lot over the last few games. It’s hard not to believe that he’d already be a solid CB for us this year if he spent all last year at the position.6 points

No, you fucking idiot, you reinstate a no fly zone and 90% of the killing stops without the US firing a shot. My recommendation is to do actual tackling drills and limited tackling in live action. But tackling doesn’t mean leading with the head or making big shoulder hits without using arms. That’s where all the injuries are coming from. And anyone thinking he would throw a player under the bus at s presser is a fucktard. If Sam and Keontay had a big argument (I didn’t see it), Herman wouldn’t address that in a presser, and he shouldn’t. If he thinks RJ is a better back than Ingram, he shouldn’t say that in a presser. Some of you are stupid, just like Bohls.5 points

Why are you getting angry at his answers? You don't really expect him to answer truthfully, do you? Is this your first press conference?5 points

People that say the US needs to be run like a business have most likely know nothing about running a business. If you really wanted to create a better analogy, we would want the US run like a not-for-profit. Which coincidentally seems to be how Trump ran many of his business at least based on the results.5 points

The military mentality is out of control. The new normal for dress is to go to work like a special forces operator. Tacti-cool outfits and urban warfare gear are the norm. Game wardens seem to do OK with simple green Dickies, don't shoot up innocents, and they deal with armed citizens as a rule and not the exception. Maybe dressing like a public servant (you know....protect and serve) instead of a warrior would be a good start. Some of the knuckleheads might not even apply for the job if they knew they wouldn't be dressing like Chris Kyle every day.5 points
