  3. That's impressive. It didn't look like our players knew what Texas was doing pre-snap

  4. You look at TCU over there and it's just all about the tradition that regardless of what season it is, Gary Patterson is probably sweating.

  5. We moved to Colorado from Texas 3 years ago because I’ve got a kid with special needs and the Republican run state of Texas views kids with special needs simply as a financial liability. ”Texas is the only state that has ever set a target for special education enrollment, records show. It has been remarkably effective. In the years since its implementation, the rate of Texas kids receiving special education has plummeted from near the national average of 13 percent to the lowest in the country — by far. In 2015, for the first time, it fell to exactly 8.5 percent. If Texas provided services at the same rate as the rest of the U.S., 250,000 more kids would be getting critical services such as therapy, counseling and one-on-one tutoring.” https://www.houstonchronicle.com/denied/1/ Out of the gate with only the same data to guide them, our Colorado school offered us all of the services (behavioral intervention, occupational therapy, etc...) that is their right by law and that was denied to us for two years attempting to work with Deer Creek elementary in Cedar Park. After 3 years here, my son has shown dramatic growth and stabilization. He s able to function and thrive in a normal classroom setting and my wife and I no longer fear that he will not be able to grow into a functional adult. That is directly attributable to the services he has received specifically and the different philosophical views of education.by the political leadership in Colorado vs Texas. Now, I’m sure some will say that’s nice and all, but it’s not my financial responsibility to provide such services to your children. You can certainly take that short term view of things. But society pays for its children one way or another — to give them educational opportunity early or to control their crime and homelessness later. Tldr; thank you Democrat run state of Colorado! Fuck you red-assed Republican run Texas!! Tonight I’ll light up a joint and thank Jobu we live where the powers that be give a shit about all of its citizens’ children.

  7. I'm shocked, shocked to see a bunch of stupid, thoughtless takes present on the football board. It's the only thing less surprising that Javonne Shepherd hitting the transfer portal. Herman is a dumb, dumb motherfucker for failing to check the "18 Year Old HS Kid Will or Won't Have a Stroke" section on Brown's recruiting report.

  8. Only acceptable press conference: Orlando and everyone else on defensive staff is gone and replaced with some random high school coaches until the end of the season. We also replaced the blind, masturbating monkey that was responsible for punt and kick returns with a parrot that just says "fair catch."

  9. You'd have to do the same thing with every team's class. Everybody has injuries and attrition. Also are you seriously blaming the staff for Brown and Floyd? Fucking LOL.

  10. My son is stationed there, so "close to home" and all that. I freak a little whenever shit happens at Stewart. When he was finishing up AIT he told me something that made me think. "Dad, you know how 19-year-old drivers annoy you?" "Yep," I said. "Now imagine them driving a tank." Yeah, that is kinda scary, son. Weird as this is to say, especially in light of a tragedy like this, but I still think he is safer in the Army than out, with all the car wrecks, overdoses and other stupid shit kids his age get up to these days. (And all days...I had no more sense than he did at 19.) Shit, an old friend of his who he shared a pizzeria job with was murdered behind the register by a just-released ex-con over a few hundred bucks in Bellaire, of all places. My son's getting out next month and I won't stop worrying about him. I'll probably worry more. Parenting, man. It never ends. My heart goes out to those parents who are probably just getting the terrible news about now.

  21. No, no, no. If the team in the field wants to use a pitcher and put the other 8 guys in a circle around 2nd base, or in any other configuration, that's their prerogative. A better solution is to teach bat-to-ball skills, including bunting, again. Pure hitters would bat .500 against the shift. Hell, Henry Aaron would bat 1.000 on bunt singles. It's embarrassing that so many professional hitters can't beat the shift. You don't make a rule to prevent it; you make hitters work on their craft to force teams to stop using it.

  24. Much of this is correct. However, there are some unsettling trends shaping up with the program. I can accept losses and even scary wins, if the overall trajectory appears upward. The dipshit play calling and the catastrophe defense, are not upward trends. Neither are the stupid but apparently acceptable penalties and special teams gafs. A decrease in the incidence of penalties and ST mistakes would indicate awareness of, and addressing of the problems. I don't see that. On defense, I see bodies hurtling into the line of scrimmage from the D. backfield with no apparent benefit and an obvious loss of numbers. The DBs seem out of position and always chasing receivers. There's over-aggression in some aspects of the scheme and lack of aggression in others. It's just a shambles. You don't fire TH now. But he has to demonstrate that the is capable, and humble enough, to learn from his errors. That may be a problem. He also has to accept that Orlando is not the answer. He's a guy with a scheme that doesn't work, and doesn't seem to change. Where are we with TH if he tells all the $200 fans they don't know what they're talking about? What if he says all the problems are due to injury and lack of depth? More importantly, what does DelConte do?

  30. Ditto - my son, 91-bravo, talks about some of the stuff that happens in the motor pool. Stupid shit isn't limited to the outside world, but I agree about safer in than out. But mine just reported to Ft. Hood for 7-8 weeks training before shipping out to the Middle East. They aren't sure where they will be sent, as their mission up to about 10 days ago was to support US forces in Syria. I won't lie, I'm worried about what may happen now that our shit head CIC is doing shithead things in/to a shithead part of the world (sorry to CR the thread)

  32. It wouldn't have mattered if Doral were free to G7 attendees, with free food and unlimited drinks. There is still value in brand promotion. He'd tout that G7 "host" status from then on. It would be a violation of the emoluments clause, regardless. At let's not kid ourselves, that property would be upgraded for "security purposes" (with a fair amount of cosmetics thrown in) on our dime. Technically, that wouldn't be emoluments because it would be US money, but anyone who thinks Trump does anything for free is a fool.

  33. Riley has as many B12 titles at OU as Texas has since 2005. Assuming they win this year, which unfortunately isn't a stretch given what we saw in Dallas, he will have as many B12 titles in three years as Texas does since the inception of the conference. He will have won a championship in every single year he's coached there. That's the definition of championship caliber. Texas fans trying to argue otherwise are really getting in touch with their aggy side. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

  36. These threads are such cancer. Tom is our guy. He needs a better staff around him and he for sure needs a deeper, more experienced roster. But looking at the bigger picture: Immediate turn around year 1 in winning a bowl game and going above .500 10 wins in year 2 including a NY6 bowl win (an ass whipping against Georgia) and a win against OU in the Cotton Bowl 5-2 right now in year 3 - with our 2 losses against 2 of the best 5 teams in college football I get it. He plays games tight that shouldn't be tight. But fuck, he actually wins, and compared to late Mack and Charlie that is a breath of fresh air. 2020 is our year. It always was our year. 2018 and 2019 are building years. We're young and we're banged up this year. Last year we still had Chuckles stink on the roster. Next year if we aren't blowing out shitty teams and finishing at worst 11-1 then maybe we start looking. But as of now, Tom is doing what he should be. It's amazing how quickly we get spoiled after being such dogshit for so many years. Just win and move on. 10-2 is on the table. B12 title is on the table. Another Sugar Bowl is on the table. Hook 'em Horns and let's move on to next week, try and get healthy and fuck up TCU's bitch ass.

  43. Y’all. I’m totally exhausted today but I’m still so excited. Showed up ready to work at 6:00 AM on a Saturday and went balls to the wall till 5:00 PM. Met some awesome Bama Beto folks, met some awesome volunteers and staff from a bunch of other places, had a great conversation with the newly elected first ever black mayor of Montgomery, and got to meet and chat with Beto. Oh and also collected around 350 of the 500 signatures needed to get him on the ballot in Alabama. PS - not one democratic candidate has qualified to be on the Alabama ballot yet and the deadline is 11/6! Probably not wise to post myself here but whatever. It was a great day and I’m feeling pretty awesome!
