You made an easily disproven claim. It was disproven. Now, you're making it again. Instead of having the balls to say, "you're right, I was being a bit hyperbolic to make a point," you double down on your easily disproven claim with a backpedaling, goalpost moving, flow of bullshit. It's obstinate stupidity such as this as to why there will be no full college football season this fall. Could have been, if shitheels like yourself simply exercised the minimal amount of personal responsibility. Thanks for your contribution to the birth of our Idiocracy.19 points

What I like to do is take the greatest hits posted here and send them to known Trumptards via text. They all LOL and that's about it. They hope that means I'll stop but I'm an asshole so I send these 5-6 people texts every day. It's actually great because none of them are family or close friends. Pharm/device reps etc...none of them are really in any position to say shit to me so they bite their tongue and take the onslaught. Maybe that makes me a bad person - I really don't give a shit.19 points

I have a long text chain with some high school buddies of mine. One was a Baptist preacher. Yesterday, he actually called Trump "dotard" and meant it. I will pour an extra finger of the Glenmorangie this evening to celebrate my coup.12 points

I just make my kids mow the lawn and pull weeds. Gets them out of the house and they won't get the rona. They do a shitty job on the lawn, but I figure it will get better once they hit their 5th birthday.12 points

Great point. Why would we want a linebacker who can diagnose Power, make the guard (with a downblock angle) miss and stop the RB in the hole for a very short gain? This one might be even worse. Who wants an LB who can shed two offensive linemen on the same play to assist on a tackle and get the other team off the field on 4th and short? Frankly, this one just makes me sick. Who wants a linebacker who can take stone an offensive guard and keep half of his body free to bring down a running back in the hole for a short gain?11 points

I called him out but I didn’t call him any names. Blowing in this thread and calling her a “dizzy cunt” is bad form. That should rightfully be slapped down as misogynistic and sexist. I also told him using the “WHY SO SERIOUS? IT WAS JUST JOKES!” makes him look defensive and makes his original comment appear intentional, not jokey. And I told him to apologize and own it. Which he did. Attributing the rightful backlash he received to an “echo chamber” is just another knee jerk defense. This board has been littered with sexist crap about Warren and Harris and OMG Hilary for years. I call them out when I see it - and lots of times those remarks are made by posters who are very liberal/progressive/whatever label you want. And it ain’t just men that do it. It’s very telling that being told a comment is sexist or misogynistic is taken as a personal jab. I never said HomeSick was a misogynist - I called out his statement as such. I’ve also called out the over use of gender based slurs used as shorthand to insult men. Using exclusively female terminology to imply a man as weak is just another facet of the misogyny that is ingrained in our discourse. But when I do that I get labeled as “shrill” and “feminazi” and “triggered”. It’s very disheartening to see allies use those hurtful insults.11 points

No one is saying that you bleeding vagina. Jesus Christ. People getting sick in Mexico and treated in the USA should not be in our fucking stats. We should not be shit on for having the compassion of letting sick people enter our country and treating them (where 90 percent aren't going to pay shit for said treatment). Fucking try and enter another country besides the USA with Covid and seeking treatment and let me know how that goes for you.10 points

I 100% agree with you in hindsight. But I'd like to attempt to restructure that final sentence as opposed to deleting it, and here's why. I seldom, if ever, post in this particular forum. I'm typically laughing at aggy, funny pics, or posting pics of sneks. I realize now that this forum is a metric fuck-ton more serious, or at least it's taken more seriously than the others, and that was something I really didn't understand before, but absolutely understand now. That ignorance on my part, coupled with using a shitty coupling of words, really kicked the hornets nest through the uprights. My attempts to explain that I really was actually being facetious, and my hoping that it would be shrugged off, were again, extremely ignorant on my part. The more I posted, and the responses I received, helped me realize that all I was doing at that point was lobbing canisters of gasoline on an already lit fire. Those of you who know me IRL know that I'm not a shitty person, and those who don't, hopefully understand that I fucked up, owned it, and apologized. I'd really like to just turn the page at this point.10 points

Ignoring the laughable OOC schedules and the fact that the SEC only plays 8 games, to help pad overall win totals... Your rankings look like a guy who didn't watch any football last year, or more likely has a B12 chip on his shoulder (Big Dumpster Fire OMGLOL). You realize that Miss State lost to KSU last year, right? On the field. Took a physical beatdown in doing it. Kansas State would beat the fucking soul out of a Muschamp-led Scar. It's hard to for me to imagine SCar beating anyone in the B12 outside of maybe Kansas. Ole Miss was 4-8 and and lost to Memphis and Cal. yet, you think they'd beat Baylor coming off an 11-3 season where they lost to OU by 3, OU in OT, and UGA? OMG BAYLOL, right? ********* Reality: Texas is playing LSU, Bama, UGA, Florida, Arkansas (as well as tOSU and Michigan) in upcoming seasons. It's not hard to point out to kids that Texas isn't afraid of the SEC and the outcomes have shown that not only are they not afraid, Texas is quite capable of beating the dick off SEC teams. The longer the Ags dodge Texas, and make no mistake despite what internet aggy tough guy thinks, the entire college football world sees the Aggies as afraid to play Texas, esp with the other SEC teams having scheduled Texas. (thanks SEC brethren!) -- so the longer the Ags dodge Texas the worse it appears and the more it stands out as a black eye. Oh, I know a lot of aggy posters will go with the old staples "They have more to gain than us." -- or "they need us to validate their schedule". All of which is nonsense. Herman coming back out and saying it again, Texas adding Florida to the schedule - that was recruiting done right out in the open. You think kids in Texas don't want to see the game played? Hint: They do. You think current players don't want to play the game? Hint: They do. You think everyone sees Texas as the team saying "let's fucking go" and aggy as the team that is unwilling/scared? Hint: they do. aggy fan can talk circles around the issue but if you go out and talk to any rabid college football fan from other conferences/teams and see their take, it's going to be "aggy is ducking Texas." you know why? because aggy is ducking Texas.10 points

Probably the kind of idiot that you know, has children, has seen what the lack of socialization for months has done to them, and did a cost benefit analysis considering the extremely low number of symptomatic children and the extremely low percentage of children becoming seriously ill. Looking at it solely from the perspective of risk to your children, you better be saying "what idiot sends their kids to school during flu season" because that is significantly more likely to result in serious illness for a kid. It's really more are you comfortable with (i) the risk it's brought into your house as a parent and/or (ii) can you keep them away from grandparents when they return for a couple of weeks.10 points

Like many of us, my parents turned from reasonable, thoughtful, caring, educated people to getting their opinions from Tucker. They didn’t go full cult and start flying Trump flags, but they had a Trump sign during election time and started ranting about all the socialists. It was surprising at the time, but Fox is insidious. My family is somewhat scattered across the country, so my parents haven’t played with their grandchildren in about 6 months. Visits were canceled due to our new world. It sucks for everyone. They’ve essentially been locked in their house and yard. They stopped going to church since no one will wear a mask because America. Unwelcome at church due to Christian hospitality. Unwillingness to be mildly inconvenienced for our brothers has become a Christian identity. My dad emailed me recently expressing some disdain for his worthless R governor failing to allow them some sort of outside life with universal mask wearing. No widespread mask usage means endless lockdown. I commiserated complaining about my even worse R governor and of course the absence of national leadership. They’re stuck waiting on a vaccine since that’s our last hope. A mentor of mine that my parents knew well died of it. That really opened their eyes. My dad knew my mentor’s dad well when I was younger. Seeing your friend lose his son can shake you. Parents shouldn’t have to bury their children. This stuff has stolen what should have been a wonderful time from my parents and it’s getting hard to ignore. Most of the issues we get worked up over are theoretical to most of us, even the ones that really deeply matter. This isn’t theoretical and it’s damaged all of us. I don’t know how they plan to vote this fall, but I suspect that losing time with their grandchildren, losing their church community, losing their golden years, and seeing so much suffering might make that old Trump sign look pretty unappealing.9 points

I don't know any college football players with it, but my 44 year old friend died from Covid this Monday morning at 5am. I've known the guy since I was old enough to ride a bike, and went to Key West with him in January. He was a heavy guy since the first day I knew him, played DT on our HS football team. He was a veterinarian and was in pretty good health overall, but used a CPAP or snored like a madman when he slept. I don't know of any other pre-existing conditions he may have had. He checked into the hospital on July 9th and his situation roller coastered until he went on a vent on the 17th. 3 days later he was dead. I don't consider it "just the flu" and I hope that is a good enough example of real life for you. I have a "life long condition" of living the rest of mine without a close friend. Pray that you don't get to experience how real this thing is like me and my friends.9 points

We filled out the paper work to start a kindergartner in person yesterday rather than virtual. Debated it heavily, but opted for normalcy. I’m WFH until mid Q4 at the earliest. If he or classmates gets a positive it’ll impact wife pretty badly as she’ll have to stop her income for 14 days minimum. He asks daily about seeing friends and starting school. Also started asking, “after corona virus can we...” lately that breaks my heart. Still unsure if they’ll actually have students go in at the rate county cases are growing. 2-3yr preschool is likely to start virtual, and we’ll be a giant PITA for me to try and do from home while working and watching a new born. A lot of fucked up people mentally of every age. Sorry if sending my kid back to school (if it opens) makes me bad citizen, but go watch NumberBlocks or Minions for the 4000th time while dad works is no way to raise an inquisitive 5 year old.8 points

Like I said...when an SEC team wins, it is because they "should" and when they don't, there is some sort of magical built in excuse why they didn't. It's why everyone grows so tired of the "SEC Dominance" bullshit that is thrown around so often. And you are falling right into the company line.8 points

Do you have to hold a grown ups hand whenever you cross the street? US Covid deaths: 147,333 US deaths on 9/11: 2977 We lost 2355 in the last two days alone. As far as athletes getting sick and possibly dying, there is a non zero chance that one will die. Hopefully that doesn't happen, but if it happens to a high profile, healthy person maybe people like you will take it seriously.8 points

there isn't an issue as long as we keep all adults at home, and just let the kids handle this. the 4th graders can teach the 3rd graders, and so on. they're perfectly qualified and have just recently consumed the curriculum, so it's win-win.7 points

We had a lot of guys out too. aggys never mention that though. Dishonestly. More aggy spin because we hurt your conference myth. You were rooting for UGA to do something you’re afraid to do and got mad because they couldn’t do it.7 points

We should just start a "Kung Flu numbers" thread. When numbers are going down, ChickenSandwich can post the updates, and when they're going up, Hugo can post them. Bonus if the mods would make that the only thread the two of you can post in.7 points

In the voter suppression thread, there's a report about a Lebron James group paying off felons' fines and such, clearing the way for them to vote. That's awesome. I may throw some bucks that way -- it's another way to overcome the GOP vote suppression machine.6 points

It's been far from "tons." Your suggestion that you need to wait to see a college player die before you take it seriously is beyond moronic. It's well proven that both transmissibility and mortality are higher with Covid than in the flu, but you put your fingers in your ears. There is an obvious risk to coaches, staff, and families of all, but you likewise stick your fingers in your ears. The point that the virus poses a low risk to college athletes is perfectly fine and true. But your outright refusal to accept facts and your doubling down on hyperbolic idiocies is what's preventing you from being taken seriously by a single person with fully adult cognitive abilities.6 points

Hang gliders regularly launch off of Sandia Peak, next to the tram terminal, outside of ABQ, NM. In non-C19 times, it’s pretty cool to get a table at the restaurant at the top and watch them launch. It’s like a 2,000 foot drop from where they launch. They actually have competitions and fly really long distances. Side note: Mrs. NNM and I were married at the top of Sandia Peak 28 years ago today.6 points

First, I wasn’t responding to you. You weren’t the person quoted in that post of mine you have cited. So don’t quote me and act like you’re doing anything else other than inserting yourself into MY discourse. Second, you didn’t see me defend him or stick up for him in a fight, because he is an adult and doesnt need a white knight. What you did quote, and did see, is me tell people to shut the fuck up and quit the pile on after he showed up, ate crow, and showed more integrity and humility about being wrong or uninformed about something than currently 99.9% of American society does these days. And yet the pile on continued. That’s the echo chamber Bullshit Echo Chamber to which I’m referring and no it’s not a lazy fucking defense, it’s played out right here. And it’s part of what’s wrong with American society in general. People are punished for doing the right thing and incentivized to shut up, not learn, and not grow. Now, do you people want to spend another 4 pages beating the guy with reeds after he’s mea culpa’d or do you want to actually talk about AOC? And by the way, Homesick showing up and being accountable for his words on this matter is more than you ever did regarding behavior when you called the moderators and owners of this site amoral pieces of shit and then slunk back here with nary a peep or response when I called you on it then, despite your later claims of being grateful to call this place home and being treated well as a guest. Hey guess what, the owners are my friends too. An anonymous message board is a fun place but sometimes real world relationships are important too, and maybe people should behave online like they would consider in person. I’m as guilty of that as anyone here. Then again, I also would say most of the shit I type here to pretty much anyone’s face. So if anyone here knows how to get in touch with Blake Brockermeyer let me know.6 points
