  3. Man, what are the odds. Trump claimed for a year that the election was going to be stolen (only if he lost, of course) and gosh darn it, it damn sure was! Imagine being so fucking stupid that you can't see that for what it is.

  7. That looks like a blast. Somewhere between elite high school football and Division...hell, Division 9 college football. He gets to be the stud on the field, minimize risk to his head, and play the game he loved but was forced out of. I was a good sized lineman back in the day when 270 was big. My knees took me out of the game. If there'd been some miracle process to restore those poor joints in my 20s, I would have loved to give that level of football a shot. My size and sub 5.0 forty probably meant I would have fit in nicely. Take that same RomaVicta and put him on the field at DKR, I'm an undersized lineman or slow linebacker. CTJ, ScipioTex, and Sydney Carton would cuss me for getting a scholarship, and cuss me even more if I made it to the field, and probably cuss me as my horribly broken body was carted for a cursory look in the ER prior to placement in the morgue. I'd go the way of Francis Macomber, you can be sure. Good for David Ash. It touched me when he ran onto the field in street clothes for senior day. I don't think they escaped his eyes, but his tears caught the light. I was taken from the game before I even got started on the varsity in high school. It made me unhappy. I can only guess at the magnification of that emotion if you're snatched from being the starting QB at Texas just as you're about to get really good. Long post. Fuck it. I'm happy for the guy and actually happy to see guys playing football at that level. They're doing it for love of the game. Gotta be fun. Godspeed, David Ash.

  8. I love how people use Gas Prices as an indicator of something nefarious. Gas prices are largely predicated on Global Oil Supply and Demand. If you believe the President of the United States has enough power to significantly alter that market for personal gains, well, I have some Ocean Front Property in Arizona and New Mexico that I would be happy to sell you.

  11. He also said he wrote in Condi Rice for President in the 2020 election. And he was the biggest incompetent moron piece-of-shit President (until Trump came along) in my lifetime. He ignored warnings about 9/11, authorized torture and violations against the Geneva Convention, suspended habeas corpus and threw people into prison without charges for their rest of their lives. He let bin Laden get away after claiming the people responsible for 9/11 would pay, at a time that we would determine, and engaged in a pointless invasion of Iraq that strengthened Iran and distracted us from the rise of Putin. But gas prices rose above $3 per gallon for the first time in my life so he and his family probably made some nice profits. (When his dad was President, gas prices rose above $2 per gallon for the first time in my life. Coincidence? Surely there could be no connection between two Texas oil men being President and high gas prices, right?) Sure, it’s nice that he’s friendly with Michelle Obama. But the whole Bush family sucks. Remember when Barbara Bush said the NOLA refugees were probably better off living in the Astrodome after Katrina because they were poor? The Bushes are not decent people. They don’t suck as much as the Trumps but that’s a pretty low bar. The Cheney’s suck too. Don’t lose sight of the fact that shitty Republicans are still shitty even though the other members of their party keep getting shittier and shittier and shittier.

  18. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31439470/new-york-yankees-ss-gleyber-torres-miss-second-straight-game-sources-say The routine COVID PCR testing of fully vaccinated asymptomatic patients is FUCKING RETARDED and needs to stop NOW. Stupid shit like this erodes vaccine confidence. The 8 Yankees that tested positive (see article above) are ALL asymptomatic. Because they’re VACCINATED! The vaccines are working! If you’re vaccinated and breathe in some COVID virus, your immune system blasts the virus to hell before it can make you sick. So it never proliferates enough for you to transmit it or make you sick. But the PCR test is designed to pick up those virus pieces that have blown to hell. So who gives a fuck if you’re asymptomatic and test PCR positive if you’re not going to get sick or spread it? If you’re vaccinated and get symptoms and want to get tested, get a rapid antigen test. End of rant

  19. When my wife and daughter got back from the vaccine appointment, they said an elderly lady harassed my daughter about getting the vaccine and said "don't you know more people have died from the vaccine than COVID!?!?!" My wife told her to go fuck herself.

  20. For a society that technology was already herding pockets of to become increasingly isolated, this pandemic put that shit on steroids. Some people it's their nature and they embraced it, for a lot of others they have now been conditioned to it (unhealthy in my opinion) and it's going take shit loads of time to unwind that psychological pile of coat hangers. Also I have throughout this thread seen people say, "what do you care if somebody still chooses to wear a mask? it doesn't affect you. As somebody who had no problem with masks as a means to stop spread, was fine with wearing them etc etc etc you're goddamn wrong it DOES affect me. Are you happy to see me? Are you mad at me? Are you a threat? Do you think I'm a threat? Are you sad? stressed? beaten down? That shit is really hard to discern when I can't see half of your fucking face. When this shit is truly done and done (which is also a problem Brisket has so often rightly beat the drum on....what the fuck is the definition of that?) YEA I don't want to encounter you in a mask. It's fucking weird and dehumanizing. Your face tells your story and I can't see god damn half of it.

  22. The J&J vaccine was 66% effective in preventing any infection, but 100% effective in preventing hospitalization. So you’d expect regular testing to show somewhere in the neighborhood of 30% of asymptomatic cases. I don’t know how many people are employed by the Yankees but 7 completely asymptomatic cases and 1 minor symptomatic case doesn’t seem wildly out of line with those numbers.

  23. So to my wife and her circle, the mask is actually a sign you take it seriously, therefore you're likely to be vaccinated. No mask means you follow the teachings of Q and believe this has something to do with adrenochrome and Jeffrey Epstein, so you're not vaccinated because you don't want the Bill Gates 5G antenna implanted. Effectively, the people who need masks aren't wearing them and the people who don't need them are. It's going to take a while to get her and her group to see that the other way because of all the engineered fear over variants and shit.

  26. Is that what I'm doing? I thought I was just laughing at you for clinging to a half-baked conspiracy theory that you pretty clearly have put minimal research into when, yes, there's a laundry list of legitimate, easily-provable gripes with the Bush presidencies.

  27. Asked about his Bama comments in private, Fisher admitted, “These fucking rubes paid me $75M guaranteed. I have to put on a good show. I’ll continue to take the air out of the ball and score meaningless late game TDs to keep the scores somewhat reasonable but everyone knows we’re not beating fucking Saban. Cmon man.”

  28. Fixed It’s been stated multiple times, none of us need to know. However, many of us have teenagers and like to take advantage of teaching opportunities. I’m old and out of the loop, I guess, because I had no idea the alleged cause was even a problem. How can I talk to my kids about issues I don’t know exist? My fault for not researching every danger to my children but when something like this hits close to home, it changes how much you want to know about it and the potential impact. My kids don’t pay attention to random deaths of a similar nature, just assuming it was a typical fuck-up they’re smart enough to avoid. This is a new topic of discussion for my family, and it’s impactful because it happened to a Longhorn. I prefer to turn it into something positive if I can. None of us want to disrespect the family, but once the truth is out there’s no way to stop it, and it’s only natural to want to know. It’s a basic survival instinct.
