  1. This ain’t rock bottom what the fuck are you talking about? Rock bottom was 2016 Kansas.

  2. Funny. While sitting there during the game for the 47th time, I was thinking of what a perfect stadium it is. Love the Cotton Bowl. In fact, I miss when they had those metal chairback seats and your knees would bang against the row in front of you. The Texas/ou game should not be comfortable. The crowds, pissing troughs, small seats, inconvenient location are all apart of the charm. Embrace it.

  3. Where to begin.......... where to begin? First off, @lilMAC25 is a bitch for starting this thread. We will start with that! Second, let's got to where we were coming into this season. We couldn't generate a pass rush, and our O-line was questionable at best. Offense- I think it was @Vic Mackey that was complaining about us dialing up long pass plays even though we couldn't block. Hate to tell you this Vic, but on any given play there are multiple routes out at a time. Our line did what you cannot do, which is bust assignments in the interior of without so much as getting a hand on the man. OU started playing defense in a phone booth if you were counting the amount of defenders in the box as the game wore on. The offense was lost right there. You have to be able to throw your way out of that many people close to the line of scrimmage, and quick hitting pass plays would be in a lot of traffic. Defense- We have not been able to generate a pass rush for awhile now, and that ain't changing simply because you change DCs. Everything that happened on the back end of this defense is because of what happened on the front end. There just wasn't enough pressure on Williams, and because of that the DBs were covering for way too long, and put into a lot of 50/50 battles they shouldn't have been in. We are just not winning battles up front like we used to. That has to get fixed, and its not going to with the current guys in the rotation. Bottom line- This game was lost in the trenches. When we jumped out to an early lead it was pretty clear that there were opportunities for OU that they were simply missing on with Rattler. When they started hitting on them we couldn't stop them. Some say we should sell out to stop the run, I say maybe the coaches have seen in practice what happens when you ask our secondary to cover one on one. All in all you guys need to relax. We need a talent injection in the trenches and we are fine. Sark may or may not be the guy long term, but today was on the players. At some point you have to win your one on one battles. OU won theirs today simple as that.

  5. Lol complaining about concessions at a football game is like complaing about sides at a bbq joint. Who fucking cares? its pretty fucking easy. Ive done it 17 straight years. Start to enter the stadium at least 20-25 min before kickoff. If you want concessions, get there even earlier. Its not that fucking hard. Or ya know… you could buy water or beer or food at the fucking fair and eat and drink before. i fucking love that the stadium is built into the ground and there arent “ramps” to go up to get to upper deck seating. Time from inside the gate to my seat was less than 3 min good god some of you are women

  6. Also, never move it to Jerry World. If it has to move, move to a home and home. That would be much better than the sterile environment of an NFL stadium.

  8. You sound like you sit on your toilet seat when you take a piss. osu is not as good as ou on either side. We’re going to win that game. We have the biggest pussies in our fan base. We’re 4-2, we’re putting up big numbers and we’re probably 1 incredible catch from Marvin Mims away from being 5–1 and a top 15 team. Stop being such a bitch and let this season play out. I bet we end up 9-3 or 10-2 this year which will be a damn good season considering the circumstances.

  9. I think some of you are just being emotional there are plenty of reasons for optimism. Casey played at an elite level and we finally have the deep ball now so this offense is officially legit. Defense will be a problem but there is not another team left on the schedule that can beat us in a shootout. The aggy win is not ideal but it is what it is. We will portal the f*** out of linemen and we will be a hot destination for skill guys. Priority #1 is getting Arch to love everything about his visit this week. We lost a tough game but that team I saw yesterday was still better than any team I’ve seen us put on the field in a long time. PK gotta get his crap together

  10. With the way today unfolded I am convinced that if I were to fire my .45 against my head the bullet would simply ricochet, blow my dick off, and then kill my dog. So,, with this logic, I guess I'm invincible. Sooo, I've got that going for me,, which is nice.

  11. Bro, our team is putting up more points this year than any year I remember since Colt. Our OL was exposed during the Arkansas game. You don’t think tech, tcu, and ou knew that. We’re still improving. I like what I see. And guess what, most teams outside of Bama and UGA have OL issues and that includes ou. This line is needs improving but they are good enough for us to win every remaining game on the schedule. We’re 6 games into a new system with players that weren’t recruited for it and we look a lot better offensively than I expected. It’s actually the defense that sad me surprised with how much they have regressed. Some of you guys need to take a step back and see the improvement from playing hero ball with Sam the last 4 years.

  13. I've been to 30 plus OU games. One of the Brown abortions in 2001 was played in the low 40's and rain, and mirrored that clown's team. Given that temp I guess we should move the game to late August? Texas / OU in the Cotton Bowl, 2nd Saturday in October, is simply fantastic. The Bowl needs some work, okay. Big deal. You have a problem with crowds / concessions? Get there earlier. The weather? it's Texas, you fuckheads. It can be 90 one day and 40 the next in October. Remove your tampon and appreciate the beauty of this event. Dear lord.

  14. The ref on that side of the field threw his hat down during the play to signal that the receiver ran out. Then the booth reviews it and we watch the OU receiver clearly run out of bounds. Then they ruled it a catch. Instead of putting their shell-shocked punt team and defense right back on the field, they got to keep the ball, settle the team down, get 7 points, and stay in the game. It was as big a momentum swing as there could be.

  15. Then don’t go. Anyone who advocates moving it from the cotton bowl is a total moron.

  17. Sark’s ability to win here will be based on one thing and one thing only. His ability to recruit, especially O line and D line. I am pissed about yesterday but I don’t blame Sark at all. This is a Herman team at this point and if you look at the players on our O and D line it is Texas Tech level. The main reason our offense is good this year is because Sark is a good play caller in spite of the O line and also we happen to have a running back that is a mix between Emmit Smith and Barry Sanders in the backfield. He makes plays that most if not all other RB’s in the country would take for a 2 yard loss because there are 3 guys waiting in the backfield because of poor O line play. Think how bad this offense would look without Bijan. Same issue with the defense. PK may suck but the guys he is playing are about as effective as if they put me out there. Guess what, if you are not fast enough and strong enough you won’t be able to tackle the guy that is bigger and stronger than you. Our D line gets absolutely swallowed up almost every play. No pass rush, can’t set an edge, can’t shed a block. It’s not because they haven’t been taught correctly or the coordinator isn’t calling the right plays it’s just that they aren’t good enough. We could have won yesterday in spite of this but OU has better players and they played to their level after the first 5 minutes of the game. I don’t follow recruiting as close as others on here but if Sark doesn’t have the commits yet he needs to hit the portal and bring in every possible lineman that can help this team asap and let the new recruits on each line develop for a few years. Then maybe I can go back to not having to kick my dog every Saturday night out of rage that the UT football team ruined my weekend.

  19. No one even checked my ticket at the main entrance 30 min before kickoff. They were trying but the bottleneck was too huge. Main entrance north side. And if I could I would watch every football game for the rest of my life there. It’s not a fucking restaurant. Who gives a shit about lines for crap stadium food or Bud fucking Lite? It’s not a roadside truckstop - if you need to take a shit, do it before you go. It’s a place for watching football and for that purpose it is second to none. Jerry World, in contrast, is the absolute worst place I have ever watched a football game. No decent site lines, terrible angles, and that idiotic TV that dominates your vision. Plus that bizarre din that sounds like fake crowd noise, drowns out the band and the real crowd, and gives people headaches. Oh, but the fucking sushi is great. As are the big wide concourses you spend most of your time walking through.

  20. goghgoghvangogh19h The tattoos gave it away Covid Rant I'm a nurse in a smallish hospital in the midwest. I normally work in surgery, but sold my soul recently and now work in progressive care every other weekend. Today, I had 3 patients to start. After discharging all three, I got 2 admits. So, my day was already stellar. My 2nd admit was a younger guy, came in with SOB that started a few days ago. Turns out he's got the Rona, womp womp. As I'm admitting him, I notice some interesting tattoos in German and with some eagle symbol. I finally piece it all together and realize he's a white supremacist. Most days I love being a nurse and enjoy helping my patients get better. Today I was conflicted and struggled to care. This guy's CXR and CT are really bad, his lungs are basically white, and his chance of dying is high. But at least he's owning the libs. Bonus: Would anyone care to guess his vaccine status? If you guessed, "Fuck that shit, I'm a free man," you are correct!

  21. If someone told you before the season that we'd be 4-2 at this point with a last second loss to OU, would you have been doom and gloom about it? Nope. The way we lost yesterday sucked, but taking a step back, the overall results for Sark's first year so far are no disaster. It always takes coaches a couple years to really enact change and make big improvements. The offense is good and is gonna crush it once the personnel improves. Defense is a question mark. Patience required all around. As far as near-term recruiting is concerned, this weekend probably still helped us with Evan Stewart and and other WRs. Arch probably likes what he saw. Maybe bad for Devon Campbell but idk. The only 22s we're really competing with Aggy for now are Perkins and flipping Bryce (both probably lost causes now unless Aggy reverts back to previous form) so their win doesn't hurt us that much in '22. It does hurt for '23, but that's where the Arch effect could be the great equalizer. Absolutely have to land him. Bottom line - Our '22 class is gonna be good. If we land Arch, '23 will be elite. If we get some good portal OLs and WRs, our offense is gonna be unstoppable the next several years and we're gonna win a lot of games. Once we show those wins, this program will take off. Trust the process.

  22. We can debate the negative impact the offense had in the second half, not making first downs and leaving the D out there too long. We can talk about PK not having the right players to run his schemes, but when you strip away all the bullshit it really comes down to this: We put up 48 fucking points and the D couldn't hold it. 48 ought to be enough for a Texas defense.

  23. I said this in the game week thread but also want to share it here. Not trying to pump sunshine but just wanna give perspective. That was the best prepared Texas football team in a long time. Sark had us ready. After Arkansas, everyone saw the schedule and it was best case scenario for us to go through Tech, TCU, OU, and Okie lite with a 3-1 record. That is still on the table. The doom and gloom stuff gets old guys. Just appreciate a team and watch guys get better. We had a freshmen go 9 catches for 261 and two td’s yesterday. Future is bright.

  24. You kids have no perspective. Having to witness the complete annihilation of both our offense and defense up close was rock bottom. Yesterday was a meltdown, but not 66-3 total hopelessness. And this is exactly why we've been wandering in the desert for the past decade...dumbass fans think we should automatically be at 10 or 11 wins every year, and when we're not, they want a whole new coaching staff, setting us back more years. We're literally playing with walk-ons on the defensive side and a converted WR at S. Not because we want to, but because that's the best of what we have left after years of defections. And get off my lawn.

  25. Maybe, i dunno I'm just spitballin' here, but maybe there's something to be said for having a stable coaching staff.

  26. Dude, losing a comeback game in which you weren't favored to win isn't humiliating. Rout 66 is humiliating, Miami Cotton bowl is humiliating, some of those mid 00s oklahoma games were humiliating....this just stinks.

  27. I was at the game and sat a few rows behind the group of recruits attending the game, as well as their coaches and parents. They fucking loved the whole thing and most were bummed at the end. Does this game have a big impact? Don’t know. Are many of you guys a bunch of eunuchs with limited ability to do much logically besides just lazily compare the new regime with the old regime without context? Certainly.

  28. I know that the service industry is in the fucking dumps but that shit was ridiculous yesterday. I'm pretty sure the concessions in the super dome during Katrina were better. The lines for water/soda/Gatorade had to be, what, 300 deep? It was hotter than hell and they were completely unprepared. I'm surprised nobody had a heat stroke. I wasn't even planning on drinking beer during the game, but that was the only liquid that you could buy without waiting forever. I pounded 5 tall boys at the smooth price of $11 apiece just to have something to drink. It also took almost an hour to get into the stadium. Electronic tickets suck. Just a complete shit show all the way around. It's never, ever been close to good there but yesterday was next level bullshit. I never would want the game to move but they should be able to do so much better.

  29. The Texas Ou game in the second Saturday in October in the middle of the Texas state fair with the crowd split 50-50 is the greatest atmosphere in all of sports and some of you gaping vaginas want to move it because it takes too long to get your coke. Well allow me to retort. Go fuck yourselves. Go to the nearest HEB and buy your fucking Coca Cola and your Zima and your Michelobe ultra and sit on your ugly ass fucking couch and watch the greatest game in sports in comfort from your shitty couch in the woodlands.

  31. Sark screwed up by not pursuing offensive linemen from the portal during the off season . They were out there, ask Riley , he snagged two that are starters. He needs to go after every blue chip big ugly he can recruit and then roll out the red carpet with portal players. This offensive line is ridiculous and you can’t compete when your quarterback has two seconds to get rid of the ball. Our offensive line has been horrible going back a decade. It’s time to recognize that and get those elite big uglies on board. Nothing will change until that happens.

  32. You’re leaving out that he was a 30 year old functioning alcoholic and basically was so fuckin talented that people overlooked him being hammered all the time. He’s now sober, has some demons that he’s battled, and is in his mid 40’s. He’s hired an excellent staff and is now at a school that recruits well even when we blow. Context matters dick head.

  33. There was a play when Rattler was still in where Collins was lined up as a 7 tech and literally threw the OU tackle aside like a rag doll and then wrapped up the QB. Then for most of the second half we see Jett Bush in there. Barryn Sorrell played 1 series during that time. Why? I don’t understand some of the personnel decisions.

  37. DGAF if this is unpopular or not, but it's accurate: Yesterday absolutely fucking sucked. It was the most gutting loss for me since Tech '08. However, while Oklahoma is the game that 100 percent without question want to win more than any on the schedule, in a vacuum it's also probably the least important game on the 2021 schedule in terms of games the Texas program needs to win in order to believe there is and will be progress under Sark. As far as yesterday is concerned, the Athletic did a piece a while back that was an anonymous survey of recruiting coordinators and one thing they said was that winning and losing isn't as important as you think it would be to recruits. Their line of thinking is that they'll come in and make weak spots better. So a historic pants shitting really fucking sucks, but the net loss overall probably isn't much. So why are the other games more important? Here's Texas' record against the rest of the middle tier Big 12 teams since 2010: Baylor: 6-5 Iowa State: 7-4 (3-3 last six) Oklahoma State: 4-7 Kansas State: 6-5 TCU: 3-7 West Virginia: 5-4 We all want Texas to be this big swinging dick program and go 14-0 every year, but shit man, we gotta get back to 10 win seasons regularly before that and that shit ain't gonna happen until we start beating the rest of the Big 12 teams (as long as we're still in this limp dick conference) So no, yesterday wasn't rock bottom. Yesterday was probably a Top-5 stomach punch loss in the last 40 years, but everything you want to achieve is still in front of you. Start by kicking Okie Lite's ass, handle your business the rest of the year, get the rematch with OU and finish the fucking job this time. Can they do it? That's not the point. The point is there's still plenty you can achieve this year.

  38. Lost Taquon and Ossai. Both went to the NFL. I believe Taquon was top 3 in run defense at DT in the Big12 according to PFF. Replace Ossai with Bush and Thorton. Ojomo replaced TQ. Replacements haven’t played anywhere near Ossai or TQ levels.

  39. What the hell is wrong with you dude. That’s going to be the hardest game ou plays all year. We forced them to bench their quarterback and the reason the score was 28-7 is because our coaches were pantsing then. They made adjustments and they made some incredible plays to win a rivalry game. It happens. How do you want Sark to stop that perfect throw and incredible catch by Mims? How does sark stop Worthy from fumbling? How do the coaches stop a 4th and 1 50 yard TD when the players can’t make the tackle? I know it sucks, but you need to understand that this team is not as talented as ou. We’ve also been completely outclassed from a coaching perspective by Riley under strong and Herman. I don’t know if there’s a better coach outside of Saban in college football that can beat Riley consistently. But today I saw Sark punch that ou team and Riley in the mouth with a mediocre quarterback and players that are not at the same talent level. When we get Arch Manning and more players like Worthy, we’re gonna fuck shit up and don’t hop back on the bandwagon.
