  1. Someone present says Banks is fine. Put your handguns and swords down and step away from the ledge.

  2. The notion that Sark deliberately played Ketch/OB on this is really silly to me. Sark knows Hudson. He's worked with him week in and week out for two years now. He knows his family members on a first name basis. He's seen him work his ass off for months, waiting to get word about Sark's decision. Sark knows what this decision meant to a kid that means a lot to him. If Sark actually decided to leak to the press that Hudson was going to get the job (knowing he intended to do the opposite) just to fucking destroy the kid the next day, then he's an absolute fucking sociopath. And to what end? To find a leak? To embarrass a reporter? Ketch wasn't the victims of some intricate, cloak and dagger scheme by Sark to deceive him--Ketch is just shit at his job.

  4. I don’t know about a narrative, but the reality is that the largest donors to the athletic program have been invited to the scrimmage today, and I mentioned that here on this thread two weeks ago-ish. It’s not a bad thing. It’s a good thing. They’re not there because they demanded to get a sneak peek. They’re there because they were invited and then implored. It’s a good thing and we should all be cheering for success with it. Any $9.95ers saying anything otherwise should probably be overtly confronted as enemies of the program. Seriously. I don’t like to question anyone’s personal choices on how they spend their time or money, but when I find out someone I know or meet is a subscriber to OB, I lose my shit on them and attempt to shame them for their part in enabling a poisonous tub of goo to keep shitting on the program.

  10. It's amazing how stupid 21st Century Republicans are. Fox News has actually convinced you that this story about a private citizen matters right now. While an ex-president is being investigated for inciting an armed insurrection at the United States Capitol that killed cops and attempted to overturn a presidential election annnnnnnnnnnd for literally stealing top secret documents as he left the White House (and oh, by the way, he's buddies with Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin). These are the two biggest scandals in United States history, bar none. Watergate is a petty misdemeanor compared to this shit. And you want me to give a shit about anything Hunter Biden has ever said or done in his whole life right now? You want to convince me that the wealthy businessman son of an extremely influential politician might be corrupt? Okay, sold. And it doesn't fucking matter. Look! Squirrel! Shiny car keys! Look over there! Shut the fuck up, you braindead, brainwashed mob of imbeciles.

  20. It’s nominally for both, but in reality it most certainly is meant to condone abortion. For what reason would a man living in the those times have to suspect one of his wives had been unfaithful? She wouldn’t have an iPhone that contained some incriminating text messages to some other dude. In fact women back then were by and large illiterate, so a written correspondence in any form wouldn’t be in the cards. It’s not like he’s gonna catch her talking on the phone to this guy, either. See, here’s another dirty secret about the Bible, both OT and NT: contrary to what American evangelicals prefer to make believe, the Bible does not say that marriage is “one man and one woman.” It does not say that. In fact there’s no clear definition (i.e. one passage or multiple passages saying the same thing) of what qualifies as a marriage. If you read it, and by that I mean all of it and not just the flowery passages your pastor carefully selected for recommendation to you, what you’ll come away with is this: the implied, consensus biblical definition of marriage is one man and however many women that man can afford to keep in his house. Since that’s the case, here’s why one of a man’s wives would be subjected to this nasty bit of insanity that’s found in Numbers 5: Men traveled with other men for hunting quite a bit and they would be gone for long stretches. If one of them returned home and one of his wives, that he didn’t favor as much as the others, turned up looking like she was pregnant when she should not be, THAT was the hint that led him to believe she had cheated on him. It wasn’t based on “intuition” or “instinct,” or even paranoia. The fucking girl is pregnant, and he knows it’s not by him. Yeah Numbers 5 and its test of the unfaithful wife does list the possibilities of what happens when a woman drinks that nasty ass water, but we all know where it’s leading. It’s leading to a nightmarish conclusion. So by now, if you’re honest, you might be asking “so if he already knows, why take her to the priest to find out what he already knows?” The answer is simple. No man wants one of his wives carrying around some other dude’s bastard, especially when the deed was done while she was already married. And that’s really the point; that men in those times had as much respect for a woman’s choice as American conservatives do today. Fortunately for all of us, there’s as much reason to believe that dusty water could actually serve as a magic potion that induced abortions as there is to believe in that ridiculous book in general. and it’s about time to remind our wonderful readers that America is not a Christian theocracy and it would be a ludicrous waste of time defending one’s political views on the basis of what’s found in the Bible. But however ludicrous it is, it’s that much more ludicrous to defend one’s political views on the basis of what’s imagined to be found in the Bible. To me, that’s like basing speed limits on the idea that reaching 88 mph will cause the car to disappear and reanimate at a different point in time.

  21. I know some of you guys on here are friends with Nahlin so I understand people wanting to think he’s alright, but I think the guy is a liability. When his ego is threatened in any way, he becomes unhinged. His ego is tied to his credibility as a writer associated to UT. He’ll put himself above what’s best for Texas any time it suits his insecurities.

  25. I and the beloved went to the hill country today, out to Fredericksburg and back. Saw the usual signage. Trump campaign sign. Trump Promises Kept painted on a rusty box truck. The Democrats are Destroying our country. There was a pretty good outlaw country band playing at the Fredericksburg Market Days. One member had a Let's Go Brandon t-shirt. No tip from me. Leaving the little pavilion where the show was, I came face to face with an old guy (likely a more aged boomer than myself). We were in each other's way. I said excuse me while he just scowled as we moved shoulders and passed. Red MAGA hat. I really don't like what has happened to this state where friendliness was once the standard. There was a great guy manning the burger booth. Old school smile and appreciation for the purchase. Some other nice people, too. It feels like that type is fading away. Trump has exposed what was built for decades by the hateful right. You now see individuals proudly displaying this awful legacy in the open. They're not just ditto head cultists on the radio. We've thought of retiring to the Hill Country. We still may, but I don't like the prospect of choosing between silence and confrontation with my neighbors over something so basic as what makes our republic a republic. None of this is new. It's just sickening to see disease spread.

  29. Liberals on this board: “can you show the proof?” MAGAers: “I believe whatever Trump says. I don’t need more proof than that.” If the story for example was “the FBI raided Barrack Obama’s home looking for unreturned top secret documents.” There would be 0% of the “libtards” on this board saying “let’s kill the FBI” - but there would however be 100% of Trumpers saying “get a rope”.

  30. Why is it that when Christian pro-birth anti-choice whackjobs weigh in on this topic, they always expose themselves as knowing less about their own side of the argument than we know about both sides? It says that it will make “your thigh rot” because according to Jewish law, from the 41st day of gestation until the day of delivery, what’s growing inside the woman is considered exactly what that implies: an extension of the woman’s body; most commonly referred to as a “thigh.” That’s precisely why other translations read “the womb will discharge.” It’s funny that you said “you’re not Christian” because even the most fundamentalist nutbag Christian would know Numbers is an Old Testament book, which means Jews know this shit. And judging by your asinine response, they’d know it a hell of a lot better than you do.
