Yes, I am quoting myself. I work in Energy and Commodity Trading. As someone that has to have given 200% to get recognition over my male colleagues, I am tired of men getting a pass simply becuase they are men. Fuck all that. I know there are exceptional boys and men. They are not the people I am talking about. I am talking about the Pete Hegseth's of the world who get roles they have no business holding simply becuase they are male.22 points

Sam Altman was asked about Musk's $97 billion bid for OpenAi. Musk will prove his insecurity by turning the US government against Altman. Altman: "..and they're trying to compete with us from a technological perspective. From, you know, getting the product into the market and I wish he would just compete by building a better product. But I think there's been a lot of tactics, you know, many, many lawsuits, all sorts of other crazy stuff. Now this, and we'll try to just put our head down and keep working." Interviewer: "Do you think Musk's approach then is from a position of insecurity about xAI?" Altman: "Probably his whole life is from a position of insecurity. I feel for the guy." Interviewer: "You feel for him?" Altman: "I do, actually. I don't think he's like a happy person. I do feel for him."22 points

It's not just botox. it's part of the uniform a woman has to put on to be in trumpworld. it's part of his continuing need to have women capitulate to his abuse. they literally have to disfigure themselves and change their face shape to be identical. Compare noem to guilfoyle to any woman in trump's orbit. he gets off on them capitulating into cartoon character versions of their former selves.15 points

Mace claims that she saw dozens of nude photos of underage girls on her fiancΓ©'s phone, as well as 10,000s of videos depicting assaults of women. If she failed to take this information immediately to the police dept, which there should be records, shouldn't she herself be investigated?15 points

Also, FYI, A&M's other TE "commit" - Caleb Tafua, from California - visited USC for Junior Day, and then said this: "What stood out to me was mostly kids I grew up playing youth football with," said Tafua. "USC's main thing was talking about keeping Cali kids in Cali. "Keeping all of that talent (on one team). We could beat Ohio State." USC hiring Chad Savage as inside receivers coach is one major change in Tafua's recruitment since his commitment to Texas A&M. Tafua had a relationship with Savage prior to his appointment with the Trojans and the two have picked up where they left off last year. "Talking with coach Savage, he was one of the first coaches to recruit me when he was at Colorado State," said Tafua. "Just seeing him coming back to his hometown and him telling us how he is going to develop meβ¦ because he is the tight ends and slots coach. "He knows a lot about the game, and I feel like kids out here in Southern California are used to him. I think that's a big change and will make a big impact in USC recruiting." The combination of USC's location and the recruiting prowess of Savage make the Trojans an intriguing option. "USC is like a next-door neighbor β it's like a 15 minute drive," said Tafua. "I don't have to take a flight out there. "Yesterday was a good experience seeing all the kids I knew from youth football and all of the talent in SoCal. They want to keep the Cali kids home, so yeah, I felt like a priority."12 points

You have ingested the myth of "American Exceptionalism." We are no less stupid than every other people and country who have come before. Once you realize that basic truth, the rest of the truth comes falling down on your head like a deluge. It CAN happen here. All of it.11 points

There was a time when we say people with mental illness with sympathy and supported efforts to get them treatment and help. Now we elect them to run all branches of government and allow them to use the full power of government to try to make their delusions into our shared reality. It really is like if we put all the transients screaming crazy shit on the drag in charge of everything.10 points

The issue is a lack of exploring art. At some point people give up. There is a hard date where music is good and everything else outside of a very narrow scope is bad. I make it a point to explore music through every genre and try to understand it. Some music needs context and some doesn't. As a white male raised in a very protected area surrounded by other well off white people, I have zero in common with a wide swath of music. The influence of great art in music is always struggle (or really good drugs, no....I mean heroin). Rap is almost unanimously created from a place of struggle and trying to rise above. If you are a serious person, you know why. It is imperative you have some level of understanding of the context. What Kendrick did yesterday was groundbreaking. A black artist from Compton that came from nothing, performed at the superbowl and made a statement that many flat didn't pick up on. Some because they don't try to understand context and some because they are just flat racists. Either way, even if you hate his art, he did something that hasn't been done before. That was history and it was a masterclass.10 points

God bless Anderson Cooper for this. 99% of the time politicians go on those shows and lie, they get little or no pushback from the host because the network knows they'll never get that person (or any spokesperson for the party they represent) on again. As a result, outright lies and disingenuous arguments get treated the same as good-faith engagement. For whatever reason, Cooper felt unrestrained here to give the appropriate response... especially the last 10 seconds or so.9 points

Good Player / Average Player / Bad Player Loved Bijan Ehlinger Swoopes Divided Simms Applewhite Kai Money Hated E. Acho Hager B.J. Foster Notes: I tried to limit selections to the beginning of Mack Brown's tenure or later. There are too many players going too far back otherwise. There are hundreds of choices for the "good player / loved by fans" spot. Colt, VY, Ricky, Ced Griffin, DJ, etc. etc. etc. I just picked Bijan because he's the most recent favorite. It's hard to find an actual bad player who is loved by fans, and hard to find a good player who is hated by fans. I loved Acho while he was at Texas, but have really lost any affection I had for him during his broadcasting career. With Swoopes, I actually think he was a good athlete but a bad QB. He stepped up for us and played out of position, and I love him for that. But he was not a good QB.9 points

I'm awful. A part of me wants to take this, turn it into a GIF from right before he gets hit by the drone, have it show him flying about 20 feet through the air, and then freeze it and pop up these words "Yep, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got here."9 points
