Compared to the past few years, really is weak lineup with Oregon-AU being the only solid matchup.  But lots of interesting games and if there was ever a weekend that could survive a weak slate its Week 1!

A few unranked games that are interesting:

Ole Miss-Memphis

SCar - UNC - return of Mack

VT-BC

FSU-Boise - Its early, but is this a must win game for Taggart?

Wisc- USF

Ohio St - Lane Kiffin

UCLA- Cincinnati - Year 2 of Brian Kelly, Cin -3 in vegas

Had a buddy sum it up perfectly back in college-

We were about to head to the first game of the season in 2005 (against Louisiana-Lafayette)- he was getting into a fight with his girlfriend and I heard him yell at her: “this is like like Christmas morning for me and I’m not gonna let you ruin Christmas”.

I feel the same way- waking up Saturday morning is going to feel like Christmas morning when I was about 8 years old.

This one might be more Chippy than you think.

I have a high degree of confidence in this game.  Maybe it's misplaced, but I don't think so.  We SHOULD be vastly improved.  And we are relatively healthy, albeit not very deep.

Really? Cincy's a hot pick for the G5 NY6 slot - Fickell's done a really nice job there.

I think UCLA will be better, but I think it's more of a pick 'em sort of situation.

Yeah, but we return 10 starters on O and 9 on D.  We averaged 17.5 points through the first 5 games, and 31.5 in the last 5.  We had 21 freshman start games last year.  We should be vastly improved.  We shall see.

I'm going to miss Urban's 80% ATS clip with a week+ to prepare for a team.  I'll offer up Fuente going 7-0 ats in true road openers. His teams have covered those seven by an average of 19.5 points.

And if you geek out on this stuff overall another good read from David Purdhum w/ ESPN Chalk.  The guy does solid work.

Georgia Tech at Clemson    7:00 pm    ACC Network / ESPN Video
Texas State at Texas A&M    7:30 pm    SEC Network / ESPN Video
South Dakota State at Minnesota    8:00 pm    FS1 / FOX Video
Kent State at Arizona State    9:00 pm    Pac-12 / Pac-12 Video
Utah at BYU    9:15 pm    ESPN / ESPN Video

Alabama State at UAB    7:00 pm    $espn+ Video
Albany at Central Michigan    6:00 pm    espn3 Video
Central Arkansas at Western Kentucky    6:30 pm    $espn+ Video
Florida International at Tulane    7:00 pm    espn3 Video
Gardner Webb at Charlotte    6:30 pm    $espn+ Video
Morgan State at Bowling Green    6:00 pm    espn3 Video
Northern Colorado at San Jose State    9:00 pm    N/A
Robert Morris at Buffalo    6:00 pm    $espn+ Video
Wagner at UConn    6:00 pm    espn3 Video

I'm thinking UCLA @ Cincy on the TV, with FIU @ Tulane on the computer (I like Tulane football and that is supposed to be a close game)

Utah vs BYU for night viewing, but I'll have to find a stream bc Pac12Network.

UCLA vs. Cincy is a lock for the main screen. Then bouncing between the closest other games until Holy War.

Hmmmmm....OSU at OSU.  How will we be able to tell who is who...?

We'll be the team that you don't snicker at when you hear our team name, because it's not a euphemism for a vagina.

Indeed.  The Harbor Reef at the Isthmus.  I could not begin to quantify the amount of alcohol I have consumed there, but I would have to measure it in cubic feet.  Or maybe acre-feet.

I was there once for a day (couldn't buy booze at the time).  Seemed like a very cool place.  I'll go back eventually.

If your team was 3-6, is that a good thing?

Looking forward to Muschamp vs Lyin' Mack.

Thinking "Reverse Jimbo" must be same as "Jimbo Doggy", no?

Well Jimbo is an Aggy who watches while someone else fucks his wife. So I thought if NMAS was fucking a woman while watching Aggys football, it would be a Reverse Jimbo

Sorta, but it would depend on which way he's facing... could even be "Revolving Jimbo", too.

EDIT: Might even be "Jimbo Spinner", I reckon. Would you go for a nod to Saul, and make it "Spinnin' Jimmy"?

Maybe not, but since we had something like 81 freshman and sophomores last year, I'm hopeful.  Because hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things.  And no good thing ever dies.  I hope DTR doesn't turn the ball over.  I hope Josh Kelley runs for 200 yards.  I hope we beat Cincinnati.  I hope the Bruins jersey's are as blue as they are in my dreams.  I hope...
