Maybe it was cold that night in Russia?  Just needed to warm up a bit.  The rich apparently like to take their showers from multiple heads/faucets as well?

Total silence from a GOP Congress.  Not a sound.  A group of mostly intelligent, highly educated, wealthy and powerful people completely paralyzed by an imbecilic loudmouth who has no concern for the rule of law.  They're just riding with him in a spiral of disgrace and shitty behavior.  It's surreal.  Very third world.

Dude.  They're busy dealing with Facebook.

It won't be surprising when Diamond and Silk unlike Putin triggering WWIII

I think Gowdy just wants to get the truth out there and be done with this shit.

There really is no reason the memos should remain classified at this point. Mueller has already interviewed the people Comey sent the memos to.

Moreover, if Comey “leaked” the memos, why do they need the memos declassified?  Wouldn’t the memos be in the public sphere if they were truly leaked?

If Trump's name is no where on the Broidy agreement then shouldn't this Playmate actually be allowed to state she had sex with Trump? Assuming that actually did happen. Can't help but laugh that the same 2 lawyers are now on 3 of these NDAs.

It’s almost like there was some conspiracy.

Broidy is covering for drumpf. This latest payoff involved an abortion, so drumpf couldn't be named in any of the settlement. Broidy got a cushy RNC office in return and all he has to claim is that he knocked up a (lying whore-if she denies broidy was the sperm) playmate.

Hadn't thought of this angle but it makes sense.  After all, Cohen doesn't have any clients other than Trump....

Can't wait for DOTUS' conversation with Cohen today to be introduced as evidence. 100% chance that DOTUS tried to use 'code words' in his conversation.

It would be great if Cohen was already a fully cooperating witness at the time of the call.

That statement by Cohen earlier this week that went like, “The FBI was extremely professional, polite, and courteous when they no knock raided my entire life.” Seemed very un-Cohen like.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel accepted the resignation of Broidy as the deputy finance chairman of the RNC, a source familiar with the call told CNN, shortly after The Wall Street Journal first reported the payment.

That's possible.

You have to wonder if Cohen was instructed not to have any communications with Trump after Monday.

Then again, it doesn't appear that these folks are the sharpest intellects.

You pointed out a hole in my theory, but I'll assume Peggy Peterson #2 doesn't want to talk about it (just wanted abortion & $$$).

For clarification though, NDA 1/settlement 1 only used the same pseudonyms for DD and PP. I think Stormy didn't have atty mentioned and Cohen wasn't mentioned at all because he used Essential Consulting, LLC.

The Broidy agreement uses the same DD and PP pseudonyms but Mr. Cohen, who represented "Mr. Broidy" (he he), is referred to as "Dennis Donohue" and Mr. Davidson, the Los Angeles lawyer for the playmate is referred to as "Paul Patterson."

As long as we are posting what-ifs.

Assuming Broidy is taking the heat for this....what if Trump got this woman pregnant in the last year or so?  Her first payment was sent in December 2017.   If something like this happened, I can see the asking price for silence to be much, much higher than what Stormy received.

$1.6 million?  Did Broidy give it to Cohen...or was it acquired by different means?

So many possibilities.

According to WSJ, "pregnancy" was late 2017.

Wikipedia says Brody got RNC job April 2017, so quid pro quo evidence isn't great:

"In 2016 Broidy served as a vice chairman of the Trump Victory Committee, a joint fundraising committee between the Donald Trump campaign and the RNC.[16] In addition, he served as a vice chairman of the Presidential Inaugural Committee.[17] In April 2017 Broidy was named a national deputy finance chairmen of the RNC.[18]"

This presidency is crazier than anything on House of Cards. If it were a TV show, it would be mocked for how unrealistic it is and how stupid the main characters act.

This.  Seriously.

Ten years from now, when the miniseries (do they use the title "Downfall" again?  Because the wink wink aspect would be hilarious) telling the story of this admin, and its epic insanity, fuckuppery, and the vast swath of rubble it created, is aired....there will be people who simply cannot believe that it's a work of truth, not fiction.  Hell, I might be among them.  This administration is an exponentially larger shitshow than I even have the ability to comprehend.  Truly...it bottles the mind.

If the "pregnancy" was in late 2017 I'm going to say there's no way it was Trump.  I don't see him capable of performing within the last year or so.

I just read the WSJ article.  Article  doesn't say when the pregnancy occurred, just that she received her first payment in December 2017.

President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer negotiated a deal in late 2017 to pay $1.6 million to a former Playboy model who said she was impregnated by a top Republican fundraiser, according to people familiar with the matter.

Michael Cohen, whose office, home and hotel room were raided by federal agents this week, arranged the payments to the woman on behalf of Elliott Broidy, a deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee with ties to Mr. Trump, the people familiar with the matter said. Mr. Broidy, a Los Angeles-based venture capitalist, works on the Republican committee with Mr. Cohen, who is also a national deputy finance chairman.

The deal, which hasn’t previously been reported, prohibits the Los Angeles woman from disclosing her alleged relationship with Mr. Broidy in exchange for $1.6 million to be paid to her over two years in quarterly installments, these people said. The first payment was due Dec. 1, according to one of the people.

Maybe to assert a privilege?

That would be the expected basis.  After all, the holder of the privilege is the client.  And it's rather clear that 1) Trump is (at times) Cohen's client (remember, the relationship has to be one of attorney-client for the privilege to apply -- just because Cohen is an attorney doesn't mean that their relationship is always that of attorney-client), and 2) Trump is pretty much Cohen's ONLY client.

When a client seeks leave to intervene in a proceeding asserting that he has a privilege that needs to be protected, leave is going to be granted, 100% of the time.

I don't think he'll be able to get much relief (the separate team issue, and then the fact that privileged material will be sent to the court for in camera inspection, should provide ample protection), but let him intervene.  But he should be thoughtful and careful about what he says in his pleadings.  There's a real chance to provide information to the opposition unintentionally.
