The Robert Mueller Investigation

Not to mention, Mensch is a conservative, is pro-Brexit and was talking about getting on the "Trump Train" multiple times after Trump was elected.

She's straight up grifter, not so different from Trump. Everyone closely associated with her is either so naive, their judgement can't be trusted to tie their own shoes, or is a grifter too.

Sure, fine, but prison is not the only punishment. Make him live on a living wage the rest of his life. Never let him own more than a 1994 Toyota Tercel and efficiency apartment. Strip him of all foreign travel privileges.

There are plenty of ways to punish people, but we need to stop thinking of prison as our primary vehicle.

Throw in having to pay for his health insurance by working a federal minimum wage job, I'd be fine with this, but until this actually becomes the new norm, Manafort should be living the rest of his life in jail.

He wouldn't have to pay.

Well Jefferson's "recommended" sentence was another decade longer than Manafort's, and apparently, during sentencing the "intended loss" from an unconsummated fraudulent loan was thrown out as an enhancement, further reducing Manafort's guidelines range.  It really looks like Ellis is fairly consistent in giving about half to white collar criminals.  And, ultimately, Jefferson got 5.5, released by Ellis.

You're right about the intricacies, everything is apples and potatoes except in the most gross ways.  "About half" seems really about right for Ellis.

In a lot of ways, I respect Ellis for ignoring the guidelines; more judges should.

So Jefferson’s two aides who pleading guilty to conspiracy and moving some cash around get 8 and 7yrs respectively.  Its a shame they hadn’t lived an otherwise blameless life like Manafort.

I don't buy the "Mueller is avoiding the Ides of March" nonsense.  It has nothing to do with anything and like 5% of people would even know what it is or make that connection.

Yeah. That is a ridiculous reason to not file something if it’s done and trumpkins are not known for their history acumen. Quite the opposite really.

Sure, there is the other case, but not much more will come of it.

Everyone with a pulse knows that if his name was "Laquan Manafort," the sentence would have been significantly longer, and far from being characterized as having lived a "blameless life," the court would have talked about his long history as a sociopathic "thug."  You know it.  I know it.  Everyone knows it.  Such is they way of this world.

I dunno, you can't speak in generalities.  One of them was reduced by Ellis to 3 years.

Let's clarify:  what exactly do we know Trump did to FACILITATE Putin's attack on America?  Is this a reference to the polling data or something else?

You are right, no proof of facilitating, but surely proof of standing clear and not impeding.  Now if they can come up with something showing he intentionally stepped back to cover for Putin, then that would be just as damning, I think.

Agreed. Let's see what happens next week in DC. I also think Manafort is looking at more charges.

I think they are testing DOTARD on the pardon thing.  And to see if Manfort will turn some evidence, now that he knows they are serious and pardon is not coming.

I think I'm going to change my user name to "Laquan Manafort".  It has a certain je ne sais quoi.

Coincidentally,  Je'ne Saisquoi was just sentenced to 30 years for possession of a white ballpoint pen that totally looked like a joint.

Fact-checked on the spot for an hour. Even the audience gets their licks in at the end.

If this was CNN, he'd be allowed to freely spew his lies and then a few days later once the damage is done we'd get a weak 30-second fact-check segment from Chris Cillizza.

I get you, but how many individuals have Q anon types correctly pegged for indictments ???  really, they're in a different universe.

It's hard to rewind to the collective conscience of Americans in the early Spring of 2017 when people laughed at what now is daily reporting as being absurd kook-left.  In reality, these mixed background folks were aware of and reported about existing FISA warrants related to Trump campaign entities, foreign intel signals intelligence of TrumpCo being shared with US IC, the presence of human sex trafficking links to Trump, and early scuttlebutt on rubles getting laundered.  Most all of that has slowly been corroborated over the last 2 years with hopefully a lot more pending on the laundering front.  The sex trafficking has gained serious traction the last week or so (Epstein, Dersh, Jupiter FL happy endings etc)

Since we're all somewhat comfortable juggling reality and fantasy, here's another thought about a Felony Friday foul out:  there is a realistic concern that militant inclned maga groups or some other erik prince-esque outfit is poised to stoke rebellion and chaos when the deep state makes its definitive move.  We've all seen enough domestic terrorism, mass violence, and mass murder on our soil in the last two years to know there's a lot of unstable gun powder out there.  I wonder if there's been some consideration by certain FBI types of monitoring for movement when these amplified national John Brennan head fakes occur to better enable maintaining order when it finally does drop.  In the interest of general public safety, having an old spy-master wax poetic about the Ides of March would be a pretty damn smart way to first pump some smoke into dens to watch what happens.  To the extent that crafting false starts for intel purposes is wild fan fiction, the potential for some nasty shit to get hatched seems pretty real.

While this seems extremely out there, I do agree that there very well may be violence of some kind in the next few months.

The violence will be more of what we’ve seen already; shooters and bombers.  Seriously doubt we’ll see anything organized.

The dangerous thing about conspiracy theories like Qanon that never deliver but keep going online is people become radicalized to the point where they feel they HAVE to take matters into their own hands because no one is doing anything.

This was the case with Dylann Roof, the MAGA bomber, the Pittsburgh synagogue shooter, pizza gate guy with the AR.

They very rarely carry out their violent acts in groups.

Just saw the sentence. More white guy corruption and disparity. It's why they all readily commit crimes because they know they get away with it here in the great United Nazis of America.

Our nation's downfall will be celebrated in the world history record as the inevitable collapse of a corrupt, amoral nation with spoiled and entitled bitch ass leaders much like the fall of Rome is today.

Considering patrons who frequent what appears to be a cozy Trump/GOP linked sex shop include the likes of Robert Kraft, think of the profiles of however many others who have visited in association with gaining political/financial access to the White House.  Now think of the kompromat potential of having those high profiles gaining access to the White House pass through sex booths run by direct political loyals of Trump.

Jeffrey Epstein was reportedly known for having basically every room of his pedo mansion heavily wired for video recording.  We know about how much both Trump and Michael Cohen like to use and save "tapes" of voice recordings.  And Trump''s good friends in Moscow are rumored to be aficionados of arranging for kompromat.  It's a mob modus operandi.  This could get really fucking ugly.

What I have difficulty understanding is if it's this clear that the Trump campaign was activitely working in coordination with Russia, whether as part of an overt agreement or tacitly, why is it taking Mueller so long to move against Trump? Especially when he's continuing to act like a possible Russian agent?

The cake may be baked.

Per Spectator: Mueller vs Barr, and the battle to indict Trump

"Cockburn hears that Mueller wants to indict the President but Barr doesn’t – while the two men agree that Trump’s children should be charged"

It appears it was a Special kind of Felony Friday last week after all:

"Several sources tell Cockburn that the Special Counsel has indeed completed his report. It is said to recommend indicting three of President Trump’s children – Don junior, Ivanka and Eric – as well as his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. The Attorney General, William Barr, is said to have ‘silently assented’ to this. It’s also claimed that Mueller wants President Trump himself to be indicted. Barr is said to oppose this. The two men met on Friday but apparently could not agree and this was the reason for the delay in any announcement from the DoJ. At least this is what the sources say.

[...]

But they did talk to the people briefed by the people in the room and – twice removed from the original conversations – they all give the same account. It is that the older Trump children and Jared will be indicted for financial crimes while Mueller wants to charge Trump with obstruction of justice. The charges, Cockburn is told now, will not be about ‘Russia collusion’.

This is different from the story yesterday, which was that Mueller would ‘make the case for collusion’. It is different from what the former CIA director, John Brennan, said on Lawrence O’Donnell’s show on MSNBC this week. He thought that the children would be indicted and (like Cockburn) that it would happen on Friday. He also thought that the issue of Russia would be ‘addressed’ by Mueller with further indictments.

cont."

Who the fuck is Cockburn and why does he refer to himself in the third person?

I don't know if he's got any actual sources, but he was wrong about the Mueller report being issued last Friday.

Whether he has sources or not, in this article, he's basically just stating the obvious. Jr, Ivanka and Kush are all going to be indicted. Probably Eric too. SDNY is so far up their ass, they know what they had for lunch.

Barr is going to prevent Trump from being indicted and contain the fallout to implicate as few others as possible. That's what he's there for.

Cockburn is an author at Specator USA, a website affiliated with the conservative magazine American Spectator that’s, uh, been around awhile.

and what’s your source saying the Mueller report isn’t done and wasn’t shared with Barr on Friday ?

horncyclidt, see above:  Spectator isn’t Scooby squad.  lol.

The fuck are you talking about? I don't have to prove a negative dude. There is zero reporting that anything happened Friday. That's the 8th different deadline for Mueller to turn in his report that someone has claimed that has come and past.

Not even your dipshit referring to himself by a pseudonym and also writing about himself in the third person says that Mueller is done and turned it in. He says that he was wrong about that and is giving you a new prediction that he will be correct about, because it is fucking obvious to anyone paying attention.
