Even though everything with the line in that clip, he still chose to throw into double coverage.

It's a one read trick play specifically to Endries.  The only other receiver downfield was Wingo and it looks like his job was to clear out defenders. UK didn't bite at all on the misdirection, had it double covered, and Arch had a defender bearing down on him.

Again, Arch played like shit. We don't have to make up criticisms on plays that weren't his fault.

Then throw it away, holy shit. It’s just a simple play and thought process. Instead he tried to force into double coverage on an obvious broke play. Hell take off running. Throwing into double coverage is never the right decision

Because that's why I got hired, I was a really good offensive coordinator... There's years we're better on offense than defense and years better on defense than offense....

I wonder if he’s ever considered the possibility of being good at both at the same time.

I'll say it again and again. Arch is a problem, but the playcalling and OL are much bigger problems.

A great QB would see this play was not going to work and tried something else. There's a lot of blockers standing around, maybe he can pick up 3 yards with his legs. But he's not a great QB and either way he's been coached to throw the ball instead of run. Arch is not who we thought he was, but Sark refuses to acknowledge or accept this and move on. Sark certainly can't see how badly the OL is fucked.

This is a total team failure on the offense's side of the ball. Because the offense runs through Arch it's natural to point fingers at him, but I just don't know what he's supposed to do at this point. He's getting zero help.

It was 3rd down.

Also, Endries gave up on the route for some reason. Probably still falls incomplete, but the throw looked more off because of it.  Just a bunch of dumbfuckery on that play all around.

Stop making fucking excuses. Even though play was busted throwing into double coverage was not the right play, period. Throw it out of bounds or try and make a play with legs.

Arch's best option here was probably to pump fake it and see if he could pick up the first with his legs, who knows if that works though since 3/5 of our OL would have probably just continued to stand around doing nothing.

They rushed 2 defenders. One of them was pushed into the play by Nick Brooks, which allowed the D-linement to get pressure and bear down on Arch. If that guy was actually blocked, Arch could have tucked and scrambled for a first down.

It's almost impossible to believe he could get pressured in that situation, but he did.

How is is saying don’t throw into double coverage dumbassery? We all know the play was busted but he still made a stupid fucking decision to throw into double coverage.

Is Brooks actually better than Connor Stroh at this point? At least Stroh was borderline acceptable in pass pro.

I also am struggling to believe that Neto isn't better than what we've seen from either Brooks or Stroh. I don't give a fuck if Neto murdered an ate a baby in the locker room. Whatever has him in the dog house, it can't be bad enough to keep him on the sideline. He can't be this bad.

2025 Texas Offense, summed up in one picture

IMG_6600.jpeg

It has come to my realization that unless the head coach has a minor in OL he is unhirable, that we have OL so poorly taught to go after the wrong player even after 4+ years in the system is obscene. And the entire offense collapses on bad line play.

The worst part about this whole picture is that the defense has 4 guys completely unengaged in terms of either dealing with a block, covering or chasing somebody, 1 guy who is half assed engaged chasing something at their 35 and then 2 guys getting blocked by 3 guys and 2 guys covering 1 guy.  What a clusterfuck of design and execution.

Please tell me  this is a Photoshop.

Even worse, this is the play design. It was a double flippy do statue of liberty reverse on the first drive of the game on 3rd and 4.

Against Kentucky.

this random georgia hillbilly could probably fix the offense

It's literally just Arch not seeing it or not throwing a catchable ball over and over again.

The OL sucks too don't get me wrong but damn it's obvious watching back the film I guess we are going to develop Arch for a whole season of shit and waste this badass defense.

One way to help a struggling oline and  quarterback not being able to read the field is to utilize more quick game, such as crossers, slants, 8 to 10 yard digs, etc but Arch at the moment isn’t good at those consistently. At this point, Sark has no clue which version of Manning is going to show up in the passing game.

Sark failed Manning in the run game on Saturday. Six carries in the first half, with a total of 15 carries is a fucking joke after what they found that worked against Oklahoma.

Agreed, but I also think Arch's failure to be consistent in the quick game is a product of the bad OL and playcalling. Dude is getting rocked on every other play. You can't get into a rhythm when you're expecting to take a hit. So even on plays where the protection is sound, he's still in panic mode because of all the shots he's taken. The OU game plan in the second half needs to be the whole offense. Keep it fast. Let the pocket roll. Let Arch use his legs to buy time.

Even if arch isn’t the guy if im

arch in portaling. This offense is making him look worse.  The o line is making him look like he never in his life played qb. His future if there’s any future outside of real estate is wasting away with each game

How bout that play call though! Third and 3 on the road with an offense that has been struggling on your own side of the field, let's dial up a low percentage slow developing deep shot trick play???

They’ll never see it coming!

He’s as tough as they come and definitely not contact shy. Ewers would feel pressure and just cave while trying to throw. Arch has no fear in a clean pocket, the guy is just simply missing easy completions that are there for the taking. It’s backwards the way he can locate the wr as he’s getting hit but can’t in a clean pocket.

Like others have said, the only time he looks comfortable is when he’s scrambling and it turns into backyard football. I’m sure everyone in the program knows that an offense built off of scrambling isn’t going to get them far.

This is it for me. It's 3rd and 3 first drive of the game, throw a quick swing pass to Wisner who is probably our best offensive player right now and let him make a play and build some momentum and confidence in a struggling unit. I knew the game was fucked as soon as Sark dialed up that bullshit double reverse pass.

These screenshots are hilarious. Here, you have 3 guys blocking one defender and 4 others blocking air while we have a free rusher about to hit the QB.

Not only that, but presumably this is a play that they practiced the shit out of since it was in Sark's script.

We should temper all of this discussion perhaps with an acknowledgement that head football coaches probably do not have conventionally healthy marriages or probably any other kind of personal relationship.  It's just the nature of the beast.

And, they can afford nannies and all kinds of shit that might keep a wife happy or distracted enough to put up with an absentee husband.

That said, at some level, a dysfunctional marriage has to fuck up the coaching part.

Nah, you don't marry gold diggers that use your fame and notoriety of a flagship college football program to promote your own agenda and ventures. If you want to be a football wife, then your #1 job is to support your husband's career. That may suck, but it's true. I look at Nick and Terry Saban's marriage as the guide for it. You heard jack and shit about Terry Saban until Nick was getting ready for retirement. She was always in the background and appeared to never have any other agenda than supporting Nick.

You never saw Nick Saban’s wife on the sidelines twirling her latest monarch Caftan showing off. Never. Ask any North Carolina fan (whether you think the fans deserve to believe they should at least win half their games or not) how they feel about that influencer troll girlfriend of Belichick’s on the sidelines showing off as though she has a right to be there.

part of me honestly thinks because Sark did such a poor job as OC following Kyle at the Falcons that he feels he can do a better job in the pros than Shanahan. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind a trade right now. Swap Shanahan for Sark. Shanahan been working with Purdy and Mac Jones and somehow making that shit work with playcalling. I do not want to see L’Oreal’s butt on the sideline.

Since sark shows zero presence when the defense saves his ass time and again if he’s going to look like a hologram at least go sit on the bench with Arch and Caldwell and coach them up. Ya know? Sit down with them and start showing them things. PK running the defense for 40 mins while sark looked completely detached was something to see last night. Not engaged at all. What the fuck?

The way you post about his wife you would think she had the audacity to wear a sleeveless dress🙄.  The problem is Sark.  If he can't handle his personal life and it bleeds into his performance at his job that his still his fault.

Michelle Herman wasn’t a gold digger but Loreal is. Big fucking deal. The root cause of the problem is that Texas keeps hiring thin skinned know it all coaches with problematic wives who can’t seem to get a grasp on how serious this job is. They also have the tendency to clutch their pearls in response to the most basic questions during press conferences and feed us nonsensical bullshit answers because they have no real explanation for why the team is so shitty.

The only thing that saves Sarkisian is Pete Carroll or Nick Saban get involved. They are likely the only two people he will listen to at this point. The fact that Carroll has his own problems to deal with in Las Vegas, in Nick we trust.
