My sense of it as well.

Need to shore up the OL.  WR and RB dysfunction I think mostly a product of OL.  But we could stand a bigger RB with Baxter seeming to flop.  Maybe a WR.  Probably a TE.  Time in program plus youngsters might take care of that.

Sarkco just needs to have an "opposite day" this off-season.  Whatever he did in Spring 2025, do the opposite thing.

I wouldn't call Baxter a flop, but he's not the same player since the knee injury.  He was looking like a good back before it.

Well, it remains to be seen, but it seems we had a lot of eggs in the Baxter gon be back with a vengeance basket as a complement to Tre.  That is a bigger back that could maybe make his own holes.

And he hasn't been very effective this year.

RB and OL rooms need more talent, DBs and every unit on offense need a new coach.

Time in program?

The complaint here is Sark doesn’t develop players.

He just does not look good. His contact balance is poor. For a big guy he goes down on 1st contact way too much. Improvement and development are not always linear, so hopefully we see a different Baxter next year

I like sark, I defended him for a while. The end of the 2nd quarter against a terrible arky defense with an explosive offense in year 5 is the last straw. Their punter gave you a TD. Young football team, some struggles with a chance to emphatically slam the mother fucking door and give yourself some breathing room. Sark took the FG. That’s why he will never beat day, smart, lanning etc. You have to practice those moments against shitty teams so you can execute them against good teams. He needs to move on. The undisciplined nature of his teams, the inability to evaluate talent (recruiting and portal misses) and the lack of game day awareness is too much to overcome. Lanning or freeman, Texas needs one of those guys.

We've had WR improve. Like Worthy.  Wingo seems to be improving before our eyes.

I'm not one of those that claims no development.

No argument there, they need to bring in a No. 1 back in the portal.

Jadan Baugh at Florida needs to be a priority

We should get a veteran safety and corner. Next year there can be no excuses.

Sark is a pussy with an overinflated ego riding on the success on a lot of other people around him or structural advantages that he thinks are of his own doing.

Seems a strange thing to abandon Sark over.

The no development argument is fucking stupid. There are plenty of things to be bothered about but we have seen a lot of great stories in player development. Just on this team we have seen Arch develop during the season to go along with players like Goosby, McDonald, Baker, Livingstone and January.

The issue we had is when there was a gap like RB and OL we did not do anything in the portal to address the problem. And we also hired a defensive back coach who quite literally does not understand zone concepts. That was a comically stupid hire. But lack of player development is not the issue at all.

Baxter is a flop. His injuries have taken away all of his athleticism and I do not want to see him in a Texas uniform taking any NIL next year. Caleb Dawkins from North Texas needs to be a priority as soon as the portal opens.

It’s just the usual internet nerds reaching for straws as to why things didn’t go the way the pre-season hype predicted.

It’s never “we didn’t recruit well enough or manage the portal well enough”, or “we didn’t develop our players enough” or “maybe our coach isn’t a genius”.

Half this board sounds like Clayton Williams talking about Ann Richards:  “I hope she didn’t go back to drinking again”

That situation was all about not trusting our defense. He let the clock run on that Arky 3rd down and I don't blame him. If we call a TO, Arky gets one too and maybe they convert that 3rd down and go on to score instead of us.

Sark took two shots, and when we didnt get them there was not enough time to drive for a TD. That lack of aggression was  on our trash secondary.

We have seen Sark call TO's on defense and be aggressive in this same situation before, when our D wasn't getting shredded.

Did this exact same situation happen in one of the games earlier this year at the end of the half? Maybe Kentucky? Tried to call TO, then their O converted a third down and went on to get points on the board?

It’s a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation. We’d be lighting torches if he’d called timeouts and Arkansas ended up converting and scoring with the extra time

Next year is the year.  Arch has grown, recovered from the yips and the game has slowed down for him.  It's time to beef up the OL, RB, and secondary (at least 1 corner and 1 safety).  Ideally would love 1 more WR who is absolutely reliable (aka Cam Coleman).

Complaining about taking the points after everyone here screamed at Sark for four seasons for not taking the points sure is a take. We won the middle eight minutes 10-0 so I’m not sure why that decision was the final straw for you.

They need to feed the young talented backs and get them tons of carries vs the weak opponents.

the Florida RB still in HS? Tons of carries.

31? Tons of carries.

the players (when really good) leave in 3 seasons tops anyways.

portal RB's and WR's should be easy.  we need more speed/quickness at both positions.

I don't know why Sark is so enamored with big receivers. this isn't the NFL.  in college, guys are open by yards all the time due to scheme and busted coverages.  they can house those if they are fast/quick.

He’s still recovering from a devastating knee injury too, but agree he doesn’t show much power.

Yeah I've been wanting Sark to take the points for two seasons and he did at the exact right time. Ball back first in the 2nd half when Arkansas had shown no ability to stop us from getting points. And then we blew them out in the 3rd. Kind of a silly thing to be the final straw but that's Surly.

Sure, it was disappointing.  Arch took that deep shot, which I think was on him more than the play call and could have been DPI, it was close.  We ran Tre twice for 9 yards.  I suppose maybe we should have tried a short/intermediate route, but you don't want to turn it over there, or put it to one side or the other if you have to kick.

Maybe go for it, but not a lot of time to score.

Getting the ball back after the half, I was ok with taking the FG.

Agreed. I think taking a TO before a long 3rd is the better call, HOWEVER I understand the logic that

a. We weren’t really stopping them

b. We were getting the ball back to start 2nd half.

we got a stop there and then 3 points. Good call.

We need an all around back, not just a “bruiser” type people have talked about needing.

Just thinking off the top of my head the positions that need portal help are:

RB, WR, 3-4 interior OL types for G-C-G improvement, LB(maybe 2), S, CB, P, and K.

Baxter should be pushed to the portal, we may also need a TE unless young guys step up.
