2008 team would’ve smashed them. 2009 defense probably suffocates them. KSU was lucky to dodge those teams.

Like that tech team that got beat by 40 by Oklahoma in 08 that we couldn’t beat? Lol. Revisionist history is the best history, Kansas state had Mack’s number. They beat the doors off of us in 07 in Austin, they ended the year 5-7. Texas has won 7 straight to make the series 14-10. That’s all herman and sark.

You didn't avoid it, you just missed it because you jump around and read random posts here and three.  Nothing wrong with that, but it's not any kind of thing you've accomplished.  You were just lucky enough to not have read the same post some of us happened to.  That's it.  Nothing more, nothing less to it than that.

It's like beating your chest because a streaker ran on the field at DKR & everyone saw it but you b/c you were in a bathroom stall dropping a deuce.  "I didn't see it, don't know why y'all were all looking!"

That poor chicken.  She's gonna need an episiotomy stitching by the time you grasp this.

Keep trying to convince yourself it’s just a personnel problem. And I hope y'all who do feel it isn’t sark it’s personnel on the field and arch, I hope didn’t place any money on that. It’s all Sark. And I wish him well and also wish we had gotten 2023 and 2024 sark instead of opening up our beautifully wrapped 2025 preseason 1 box and finding Bevo’s shit.

his wounds are all self inflicted. It’s not hard to understand and the off field shit bled onto the field shit. They are linked. No question.

I disagree. They sort of owned him, but had the fortune of drawing his shittiest teams or capitalizing on injury.

2006 - Colt McCoy went down early and Jordy Nelson abused our checked out DC. We still came back to within 3 points.

2007 - That team had obvious issues and need JC heroics to avoid going 7-5. Our pass defense was shit.

2010 - Complete deadbeat team. Would’ve gotten beat by any conference opponent after blowing our load at Nebraska.

2011 - Horse fucked by the refs to lose 13-17.

2012 - Manny _iaz defense got abused by a very good BCS bowl bound KSU team.

I don’t think Colt and company on offense, combined with Muschamp’s defense lets Mack lose to KSU in 2008 and 2009. Those rosters were very talented, well coached, and had strong enough player leadership to overcome Mack.

yeah but it’s been posted here multiple times that he received the extension after his bender, after missing junior day, after going off the reservation.  if he disappeared for a month to get fucked up and missed important recruiting obligations I just don’t see any plausible scenario where he’d subsequently get a lucrative extension.  so he either got the extension prior to his absence or he really had the flu.

I don't think he's leaving unless he wants to.  He bought a lot of goodwill with the last two seasons, especially since it would be AD who hired him doing the firing.

And I don't think most of us are even saying he should be fired.  The concern is more that he might have already done as much for Texas as he can.

I don’t understand everyone talking about changes he needs to make. He never specifically refuted the NFL rumors, wants to go to the NFL, and 2027 recruiting is not good. He has one or both feet out the door.

If he doesn’t already have a deal locked up, he will most likely show the same lack of commitment next year as he has this year, while he waits for a deal. Of course, sitting around here and failing is a sure fire way to lose out on nfl opportunities. He’s dangerously close to blowing it here, and not being able to go there.

If he really wants to be here, he needs to immediately refute the nfl rumors, pick up his own personal pace on 2027 recruiting, reassuring spooked recruits, and hint at changes. Otherwise, the program will take a huge step backward in 2026 and then it will be a mess for him and Texas.

I think he is wearing too many hats and possibly has some personal life shit going on, but regardless lacks the time and energy to properly do his job as OC. Or properly do any of his jobs for that matter.  Needs to hire a goddamn OC and focus on being the head coach.

This is absolutely part of the problem, and not just with Sark and Texas. Everyone is dealing with the increased demands, scouting, NIL, and all of that shit. He has to learn to delegate more efficiently. If more assistants are needed, so be it. However, that still does not address the elephant in the room. That elephant being his ability to adapt, especially in game.

It's a question as old as sports, and it's how I evaluate coaches in any sport: Does the coach try to force players into the coach's system or does the coach adapt to the strengths and weaknesses of the players on the time at a given time.

Adaptability to the talent on hand is far and away the most important attribute of a good coach imho. The ability to adapt gameplans, to find ways to highlight the players' strengths while diminishing their weaknesses is the surest sign of coaching prowess imho, and it is rare indeed.

Exactly. And if these coaches are so fucking "smart" about their sport to the point they get the guru/genius tag, then why the fuck can't they see the forest for the trees? It's a bit fucking ridiculous. Maybe they need an average Joe to help point shit out that the meatheads are seeing.

The simple aspect of seeing the overall field is something so simple and easy to explain yet I never seen Sark defenders explain why he makes it work down on the ground.

Right?

A few coaches do it, and do it well (overall.) Take Andy Reid for example. It's his offense, he's calling the shots, and he's on the sidelines. However, the big difference between having success in that aspect and failure is whom you put in the sky. You have to have top shelf personnel that can make all of those assessments, be able to relay pertinent information, and maybe even suggest a few play options. Or at the very least they should be able to tell the coach what/who/when/where to exploit, and let the coach figure out which part of the playbook to get into.

That's not happening here, and if Sark's coaching here next season that is something that needs to be fixed. Either that or let him build the McLaren and then hire a driver.

But I guess we can debate that all off-season, but whatever the end result is we'll have plenty to talk about.

Is it possible…work with me here…that our decision makers knew he was looking to leave after we lost to OSU in the playoffs? And is it possible that they re-upped with him bc they feared about losing him to the NFL…and they were cool with this month hiatus bc they would still keep him and hey it’s way early offseason and it’s just a needed vacation. And whatever he does there so what.

but then they had no idea he would come back from his absence and then you know fuck the entire offseason in the ass, Miss Junior day, jettison the spring game, jettison spring anything, elect publicly and he spoke to many publications of his admiration for the NFL many of which I have read about his decision to emulate their practices and go to these proven bullshit excuse for practices that don’t work in college. And our decision makers really didn’t think he would whiff on plugging the oline and hamper development of players and generally seem like he’s delusional and detached on the sideline and in pressers. Maybe they thought he’d be Sark mostly of 2023 and 2024 but they got 2025 Sark,

who was a Niblett away from 5-7 and shit.

Clinging to futility? If sark gets fired because his former wr’s ran a train on his wife and he was fucking an administrative assistant in his office while shit housed hammered then I’ll probably laugh and be a little depressed for like 5-10 minutes. I’ll post in the next coaches thread and forget all about Sark. Once he gets fired is the key to all this, if he doesn’t get fired then he’s the coach of a team I love. That’s where I stand. It’s a big stretch but if he wins out and wins the bowl they end 10-3. It’s hard to be upset about a 10 win season. There was a time not long ago that we didn’t just walk into Lawrence Kansas and expect a win. I’m good with 10 wins.

I think it must be hard to come up with so many different ways to say that “winning is hard.” Either you are the Mack Brown or Sally or you are a bit. And maybe if you smoked a pre roll and ate a few orange slices and cookies and had some punch you would write better material. And if this is Mack, we will not be extending you an offer man. 😂

You’re a fan of Texas football, you only work on “if”. Two of the greatest college qb’s to ever play the game have a combined 2 conference championships between their 7 years of playing. Unless you’re high you know this program has always been a “if” away from greatness lol.
