Wouldn't be MLS if some shitass defender didn't almost head the ball in his own net.

Can we sign some real players for our end of the pitch?

Boneheaded play, but for the most part Austin FC has been energized and smart.

Yeah they've been good. Just commenting on some of the individual quality we're running out there.

Reminded me of some of the plays in NASA before my kid moved up the ranks.  I should have just printed a sign that said "wtf are you doing?"

It literally looked like he was trying to score.

Was a good save from Stu.

And y'all wanted to fire Jorsh.

Last night was the first game where AFC played like the better team pretty much the whole match. No big groaner mistakes or stupid lapses, just pretty sound football. That was the turn I’ve been looking for. Wins are great, but the last few have been because they were lucky. This one was because they were good.

Rubio and Obrian have been crucial adds.  They haven't been ruined by Wolff Ball and just press down field dragging everyone else with them.  It's done wonders for the team as a whole.  We only pass back to Stuver without reason maybe 3-5 times a game now instead of every possession. It's amazing how more productive your offense is when you don't allow the defense time to find its shape.

This week will be tough.  If we take 3-4 points in next two, lucky or not, that will be huge heading into next home game.

Beating Vancouver might put us in top 3 after this weekend amazingly (recognizing a few teams have a game in hand)

If we can hover in this 5-7 range and make playoffs this year I will be thrilled.

Happy with a point on the road against a top 3 team.

Nearly zero offense - much like some of the earlier losses and draws.  Pleased that they have a fairly strong defense.

Yeah, Cascante catches hell but he’s a well above average MLS defender (all relative), particularly given what he adds on set pieces.  Getting Kolmanic back is great.

More Fodrey please.   And let’s beat Dallas (again).

@PittsburghTiger is your son playing in today's match against Austin FCito?  If so, remind me of his number.  IIRC, he's a center back.

My Godson. My German cousin's boy, Mikey Wentzel. He is #40, yes, a center back. That game is tomorrow, the 12th, I think 6 p.m. Austin time. He'll get back up with the big team later in the season. They have three older guys in front of him on that roster, and I think the one is making some good $$ so they won't throw him to the side at the moment.

FC Dallas has some cool giveaways including free beer and whisky samples in the stadium, but the atmosphere was certainly Friscoish. People were nice and the stadium itself is much nicer than the last time I was there a decade ago. Of the MLS stadium experiences I've been to it goes:

1.) Austin FC

2.) Sporting KC

3.) FC Dallas

4.) Houston Dynamo

Hopefully I'll add another this summer but damn this team is still frustrating.

I have hit:

1) FC Frisco

2) Austin FC (USMNT)

3) LA Galaxy

4) LAFC

Missed out on Portland a decade ago because I missed my flight.

Saw the outside of the new Columbus Crew stadium as it was being finished up in 2022.

Saw the outside of Denver stadium when I attended a lacrosse tournament to visit with some parents of a player.

May have seen the outside of Foxboro in 2002 when taking a bus from Logan Airport to Providence, RI.

Definitely saw MLS games at the Cotton Bowl (Dallas Burn) & the Rose Bowl (Dallas Burn vs LA Galaxy playoffs ~1998).

TOTAL:

6 MLS stadiums attended

4 current MLS stadiums attended

3 current MLS stadium exteriors viewed, but no games attended.

ARGENTINA:

Stadiums attended for soccer (club or national team)/ rugby/ rock concerts/ tour of stadium & Diego Maradona museum

7: Boca Jrs, River Plate, Velez-Sarsfield, Racing, Independiente, Argentina Jrs, & GEBA

2 exteriors: Nueva Chicago & Rosario Central (Di María’s boyhood club)

BRAZIL:

Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro

Avai Futebol Stadium of Florianopolis

MEXICO:

Estadio Azteca

THE NETHERLANDS:

ArenA (Ajax Amsterdam)

GERMANY:

Olympic Stadium (Hertha Berlin in 2000, before the remodel for the 2006 World Cup)

SPAIN:

Camp Nou (just for a tour in 2017)

Real Sociedad stadium exterior only (San Sebastián in 2019)

IRELAND:

Croke Park (Dublin- just the exterior after walking with fans before the England v Ireland 6 Nations match in 2007)

Agree that it's a decentish experience. Maybe we weren't looking the right place, but the food options seemed super generic. Appreciate what they're trying to do at Q2. I'm also so tired of getting shittalked by Frisco fans as we fall behind yet again. Felt like we bought pretty good energy to the Toyota Truck Month end of the stadium.

Here's my MLS Stadium list from games I've attended.

1) Austin

2) Minnesota United

3) Atlanta United

4) Portland

5) Nashville

<HUGE DROPOFF>

6) FC Dallas

7) Houston Dynamo

8 Colorado Rapids (although it was the most fun since it was our first win)

They were selling Indian food behind our section (102), but it was a special one off for Asian Appreciation Night or whatever. We ate at the Mexican place across the street instead of eating in the stadium, but the food in the stadium looked pretty bad....and also wet.

We had a hot dog and a "street taco" and then picked up Whataburger on the way home.

Totally forgot about watching LAFC win the 2019 supporters shield at The Banc vs Houston. Make that #3. Fun fact is that it had the same architect as Q2 who was able to apply everything they learned about designing the stadium to make a better version in Austin.

Stadium-wise, Seattle, KC and Cincinnati are my top 3 places I want to visit. This ignores the fact that Montreal, Vancouver and NYC are more fun cities (along with others).

We've looked pretty dangerous so far, especially compared to the game in Houston. Both teams with two very near misses.

Feels like a 3 or 4 goal game. Ring and Driussi are finding the ball in good spots, one of them should find a goal tonight.
