You sound real stable.

Great insult. Really put on your thinking cap for that one. If you don’t understand this it’s on you. You don’t let bigots have a say. If you think that James Woods deserves to have any voice in this you are as bad as he is.

There are at least three other places for CR discussion- CR, and the two DT sections. Is that not enough?

He inserts himself into this for bigoted reasons. That should get called out anywhere. Any decent human being that doesn’t like bigotry should say the same.

She’s the quintessential 6’3 white guy playing center in 2a/3a basketball

I saw several of those play for Nazareth years ago. One got splattered into the goal support in the 98 state title game against Wortham. Leonard Davis threw a massive elbow and the poor kid went flying.

Saw an interesting quote from one of the top players in the nba and she made a great point that in the NBA the stars are protected more and have fouls called more but in the W the stars don’t get the calls like nba players and aren’t as protected

That’s accurate from what I have seen. I have not watched near as much as longtime WNBA fans, but yeah there is no superstar calls or protection going on. I think it’s going to take one of Clark’s teammates going McHale on Rambis to get this to stop. Otherwise I think the physicality against Clark will not stop. If you’re an opponent and know there are no repercussions for roughing up the star of your opponent you’re going to keep doing it. The league doesn’t seem interested in intervening on this.

The Fever should pay a fan to run on court and hit someone with a hockey stick. Side benefit of getting me to watch more WNBA games.

Captain Jack seems like he has plenty of free time to do this.

Leonard Davis was a massive human being, even in high school.  There is no equivalent to him in the WNBA right now, regardless of the jokes.

it occurs to me that i know nothing about paige bueckers’ pro career. don’t know what team she plays for, don’t know what her stats are, don’t know if the rest of the league has been giving her pile drivers and negative press every night- nothing. but angel reese has her own meal at mcdonald’s. that i’m aware of, because it literally gets more coverage than all of the league’s other good players (besides CC) combined. the wnba absolutely sucks at promoting itself.

Well, Dallas is 1-6 and she’s not the leading scorer on the team.  But to the second part of your post, it’s not like they require great play to push players via media blitz.

Bueckers played for UConn.  you don't fuck with "the Conn" as their players are "in the club".

1-7.  But Bueckers is their best player (faint praise indeed).  She's the 2nd highest scorer, 4th leading rebounder and first in assists (4th in the league), steals (6th in league), and blocks.  She's not shooting great but that should change as efficiency is one of her most beneficial traits.  Her team is terrible and therefore she's not getting much burn.  The franchise will get another top 5 pick and be much better positioned to try and make the playoffs.

From Yahoo:

Ticket prices for upcoming games nosedived after news of her injury broke. The cheapest seats for Sunday’s road game against the Washington Mystics dropped 47%, while prices for the June 16 home game against the Chicago Sky, once billed as a marquee showdown, fell 71% on the resale market.

On TV, it’s the same story. The Fever’s most recent game, without Clark, drew just 357,000 viewers, down almost 40% compared to the team’s previous national broadcasts. That’s a steep fall for a league hoping to keep network partners and sponsors engaged throughout the season.

Wonder what other viewership and ticket sales did?

I think a lot of the greats were trash talkers but the difference between them and the Angel Reese types is they were t so boisterous about it.  They didn’t need to be seen or be controversial

They difference is they were great and backed up their trash talk. Reese is a fucking scrub.
