But the dirty pillows

I lived in the world of tiny titties for 20 years. It was a nightmare. Tits are possibly the best thing ever. But let me return to the subject.

Jerrick is quite possibly the most dynamic RB we have. I have we keep feeding him the rock. I trust it will improve. He can win games for us.

Hey man, I hope he gets it together. Dude has the 2nd best vision of any back on this team (behind James Simon, IMHO). He’s explosive within from 0-full speed. He’s got nearly  the power of Baxter.

Fingers crossed he’s worked it out.

Ricky Williams fumbled a lot. They seemed to manage through it. If your potentially best RB on the team needs to work through some fumbling issues, you give the guy a shot ton of reps against the UTEPs and SHSUs of the world. So, yeah, I assume we’ll never see him take a meaningful snap again.

Yes, Ricky fumbled a lot, but Ricky was beyond a generational RB (arguably the greatest RB talent at a school who had Earl Fucking Campbell wear the uniform).

Jerrick Gibson is no Ricky Williams… and that isn’t an insult.

I just wanted to say, and I think it’s a worthwhile bump, that I also think Ricky Williams was better than Jerrick Gibson. Respect my decision.

Problem is Simon is better and Baxter will be back.

Simon, when on the field, is like being shot out of a canon. When the lights actually click on for him and the game slows down, holy mother of God. That kid will be a gamer. Baxter is a really good back. We have a very good problem in the RB room that 99.999% of teams would love to have. Baxter, Wisner, Gibson, Clark, Simon. Add in Derek Cooper next year and if he lives up to the hyoe as well....God damn.

That room is Jagstown and we need to bring back maybe two of those you listed. Either Wisner or Baxter, and Simon would be my preference. 1-2 in the portal plus Cooper.

You don't like what you've seen from Clark so far? Dude has this great cutting ability and he's shifty af.

Nope

Damn. I'm actually surprised. He has looked pretty good with his cuts. He's not Bijan, but he's showing potential. Remember we were writing off Gibson last year, and now I don't think he's fumbled once. Give it time.

Yes. I see the ups and downs, the good and bad. He's a frosh who's shown good cutting ability and decent speed. I'm not saying he's the next Bijan. But he has shown that if the game will slow down for him, at the very least he'll be above average, imo.

Look who you're replying to.

I mean, it's fine. Every person on here wrote off Gibson, and look what he's doing in year 2. Christ. This is Clark's first real season of playing against guys with equal talent. Obviously he's had some bad runs, but he showed good cutting and his TD showed he has good balance. I'm not asking for an extra 3 YAC. Just get 4 and move to the next play. He has great hands, too.

Tell me, what is it that you guys see that makes you write him off? I'm genuinely curious. This shit happened last year, and now people are all over Gibson's nuts because....he's not fumbling and is showing good vision and patience. These guys are young outside of Baxter and Wisner.

Is he not? What grade do you think he is? He's a RS-FR who had an Achilles tear. What am I missing? Please, show me, Obi Wan.

Look, the reason I said what I did is because Gibson fumbled on his very first series of the year, all the way back in Game #2. You said you didn’t think he had fumbled once.

I’ll go on to say this, which most people will think is stupid: If he is capable of holding onto the ball, Jerrick Gibson is our best running back. Period. He has the best vision, he has the ability to break tackles, and has improved in his ability to pick up the blitz. Wisner is solid, I’ve never been impressed with Baxter, and Clark hasn’t shown me much either.

Gibson is our best back. But it doesn’t really matter because you can’t trust the kid. I mean he went the whole offseason knowing that he had to improve his ball control, and then on his first running series against UTEP he fumbles the fucking ball.

His only chance of staying on this team and not portaling out is if Baxter and Wisner continue to remain sidelined and he shows out against SEC competition in a way that impresses the coaches enough to play him more.

You know what? Thank you just for giving your opinion and answer. That's all I wanted, and that is totally valid on your part. I get it, I really do. I don't want to go up and read, but if I said Gibson hasn't fumbled, what I meant to say was I didn't think he had, or at least I put it out of my head. So again, thank you for correcting me on the fumble and for giving me your opinion.

Would you look at that two people got off their high horses and realized they had the same opinion, mostly.

When I saw that fumble against UTEP I said out loud that was a stamp on his transfer papers for next year. I thought he could be our breakout guy this year if CJ didn't come back and resume his previous trajectory, but man it feels like it'd be hard to work out of the doghouse that many times. He still might with the RB injury bug still nagging us, but not sure if the coaches will trust him against SEC competition if they have other options.

Pissed he didn’t play in his home state and only 1 carry last week.

or maybe Mr Glass is about to return and he knows that only furthers the slide.

That said he’s gonna preserve eligibility and will probably be good pickup for somebody.

By way of comparison, Wisner has 0 fumbles on 284 carries.

EDIT if he dropped the ball the next 14 times he touched it, that would still leave him a better average.

EDIT I WAS WRONG ON NUMBERS it is 12 more times. Thanks Satya.

Not ideal in the middle of the season with injuries at the position, but hopefully the other guys will stay healthy.

He was already effectively not on the team. They lost trust and he wasn’t going to play again.

wut? Are you forgetting the fumble against blOU last year that Bolden fell on in the endzone? Or the fumble against Arizona State that led to the safety?

The 1 carry he had last week he ran sideways then lost yards. He hasn’t been good and not sure how good he will elsewhere but maybe a change of scenery  will do him some good.

He's never been a good outside zone RB like Wisner. I think with us shifting back to more OZ during the RRS the writing was on the wall.

More to the point, Tashard Choice's RB haul in the 2024 class is looking very underwhelming. Gibson is gone and Clark still can't block to save his life.

You're telling me a guy who is 19, came back from an Achilles tear, and is still learning to play at a high level isn't on the same trajectory as a 5* like Baxter when healthy, and more like Wisner learning as he goes? Except Wisner had no choice because, you know, Blue can't run inside and he fumbles, Gibson was a frosh who kept fumbling, our transfer RB lost his eye, Baxter was injured with multiple ligament tears, and Clark had the Achilles tear.
