yeah, cuz we have plenty of seal teams sitting around doing nothing right. Sure, lets send them to protect someone who is probably going to meet his demise choking on a McNugget while trying to send a DM to loomer.

Tuberville's a dumbass...  and demonstrates it further by not knowing the mission of SEAL teams.

Seals are used in exec protection in real rough places. So is Delta. So they can do the mission, but doubt they have the capacity to take more on.

I'm just struggling with the operation involving a golf course.

My obstacle.  Not theirs.

well for the seals the pro shop probably has hair gel. Other than that, yeah, they could do it. But a quick movement to mcdonalds might be tricky.

Maybe it's just me, but you might think that a self-professed billionaire, playing on his own course, could simply hire his own security to lock the place down.  And the SS wouldn't have to try to secure the entire place.

or maybe he shouldn't have to...

Just a thought.

They could not lock down outside of the course. Shooter was not on the course. It backs up to a neighborhood.

We don't know if the Secret Service told him not to golf there.

And yes, he should not need to. Reagan should not have been walking on a street and shot either.

If you are a president or ex-president, the “shouldn’t have to” is WAY out the window. You’re a magnet for nutbars bent on assassination. Has nothing to do with a political angle, and everything to do with nutbars (which is nothing new - nutbar crackpot after crackpot has plotted or attempted such shit as to EVERY President and ex-president). It’s why smart presidents only golf at secure courses and such - you simply can’t demand that your security detail secure an unsecurable location. It’s a price every POTUS has paid; you give up a certain amount of your freedom, forever.
Every other POTUS got that. This dipshit still doesn’t. Because he’s the most self-absorbed human to ever walk the earth.

What the fuck are you talking about? There are tons of reports of Trump disregarding the warnings and precautionary plans of the SS. That not only endangers his life but the lives of those tasked with protecting him

seriously get the fuck out of here with that nonsense

This. Reagan, Bush, Obama…all of em. All of em realized that they’d be putting their detail in an impossible position by playing golf (or doing anything else) in a place that was openly adjacent to infinite points of public access. So they stopped going to such places. Because that’s what sane people do.

And if they do need to move somewhere quite open, shit gets shut down.

Differing opinion is so threatening, eh?

Personally, IDGAF.  at least John Hinkley got a shot off.

rep is imaginary.

Or is it/

It bothers the imaginary believers worse than it bothered...like...anyone.

That was the point.  Y'all prove it time and time again.

Wait, I thought slorch wasn’t voting for dotard. Why is he so upset?  Weird to come out of the woodwork for this thread. Oh I guess he’s just against all the violent rhetoric the Dems say right?

I wholeheartedly agree! We should be making it more difficult for people like these to legally get their hands on guns.

I'm not a dotard believer.  In that, you are correct sir.

Doesn't mean everything else is hook, line, and sinker.

i actually don't like the guy and haven't ever.  The fact that there is not a more heartfelt alternative is a problem, wouldn't you agree?

@Iceman I asked before and you gave a great answer before people jumped all over you and pestered you with bullshit that wasn’t relevant.

With public school funding facing obstacles with the push for charters, do you have any serious concerns that could stop you from voting for any incumbent Republican in the statehouse? I have an uncle, public school music teacher until full pension and band director from Cypress, that doesn’t seem to get the message

I haven't voted for Trump since 2016, nor do I plan to going forward.

There’s a very “heartfelt” alternative in both a presidential and vice presidential candidate right across the aisle in 2024.  Like, extraordinarily so.

You're gonna have to get more definitive than that.  But you knew that already.
