Yeah that terrible bama loss to blOU should have eliminated the tide's chances to be in the playoffs.

Just ridiculous... 😬

Committee to SoCar: next time, beat Bama and lose to Miss St, we’d forgive that loss

Oh, and the fact that Duke isn't ranked is 1) a travesty, and 2) a deliberate decision by the committee to weaken Miami's resume so they can say the Hurricanes have no ranked wins and elevate Alabama above them. Note that the committee has always made sure to keep Missouri in the rankings as a ranked win for Alabama.

SMU beat Duke as well.

Yep. Still makes no sense why they hover in the last 5-6 spots. They fucking suck

Texas/Uga 3 would be something

I've said it a couple of times I'm fairly certain they will shuffle the deck based on B1G & SEC CG results. The only teams that can match up for a 3rd time this season is UT & UGA and so I fully expect the loser of the SEC CG to get a home game in round 1 but be on the opposite side of the bracket to where we can only play them again if we both make the final.

Would be a ranked road win for SMU too 🤷‍♂️

Same thing with Louisville. One of those choads on the desk is like WELL SMU DOESN'T HAVE ONE RANKED WIN!

Okay but we beat AP #26 and AP #27 both on the road. Sorry we didn't hit the arbitrary #25 cutoff.

Hate that metric.

they were ranked at the time. The L to your team knocked them out of the rankings lol

Just like Texas’ win over aggy. That was a ranked win - we knocked them out of the top 25

Which means if we win uga 3 is pretty likely

I think they would drop Georgia behind Tennessee in that case. To my knowledge the committee hasn't said CCG game losers can't be "punished," that has been other people.

Ideal state is we don't get a single SEC v SEC or B1G v B1G matchup until the semifinals just not sure if that is viable and I lack the desire to do the what if scenarios.

Isn’t that basically what the media was saying about us until Saturday?  Beat Georgia and it’s ok to lose to vandy or missst?

This !!  Final rankings need to take matchups into account, most would need to be moved up or down 1 spot to avoid any rematches in 1st and 2d round.

And they'll drop Penn State behind Domer if Oregon wins, giving the fucking Domers the 5 seed.

Nobody is getting the benefit of the doubt more than those assholes. They haven't beaten anyone worth a crap and they lost AT HOME to a 7-5 MAC team.

This situation is highly likely to occur so I think we will see the Bama vs SMU discussion put to the test

Looks like we have our answer.

So if chalk holds,  would Notre Dame move up to 5 and everyone shifts down a spot? PSU to 6, Georgia to 8? I don't think the loser of the CCG in the Big 10 and SEC should lose a home game if they lose the CCG since that's an extra game. A 3rd Texas Georgia game would be stupid. I know they'll do all they can to maintain a possible Big 10/former Pac 12 Rose Bowl so it wouldn't shock me if they double stack Penn State vs. Ohio State in the 8/9.

I agree that's silly but Miami can honestly fuck off. They play one side of the ball and could have gone like 8-4. I like all of Ole Miss, Bama and SCAR better than them. I mainly think SCAR is getting shafted.

If that’s the case would psu drop behind tosu

I don't think there's any way 2-loss Penn State stays ahead of 2-loss Ohio State

Exactly right on this.

In case you guys are wondering why SEC teams still play FCS cupcakes in November, this is why:

holy christ.  I knew that dude was an idiot.   I mean, fuck Miami, but the gymnastics(see Ole Miss also) to get Bama in are hilarious.

and to look at the last 3 games  in a 12 game season is just moronic.  This isn't like basketball where you play 10 games in the last 3 weeks.

That is fine too basically as long as they get to play in December in a frozen hellhole 😉

They couldn't handle Norman in November.

Then again tOSU couldn't handle Columbus in November against a 5 loss Michigan team.

The more I think about it the more I think America needs it to happen (since the CFP has already told us Bama isn't missing out).

South Carolina getting the entire shaft from the officials in the LSU game proving to be pretty important now. The officiating in that game was a traveshamockery.

Yeah the SEC rigged the game to protect the wrong team.

Remember this for a future year when people are trying to convince us that the Longhorns will drop behind other teams with similar records.

The goal of the committee is entertainment and money, and they understand the goal. Blue bloods will always get the benefit of the doubt.

Such an absurd double standard. If the name on Bama’s jersey was “Texas”, and the Longhorns were sitting at 8-3 with that same schedule — no one would be considering us for a spot.

Alabama is exactly why we shouldn't schedule anybody worth a shit in non-conference.

Their best opponent in non-conference is 5-7 Wisconsin. A 2 loss SEC team will make the playoffs and a 3 loss SEC team has a shot to make it even with a shitty ass non-conference schedule. There is zero incentive to play good teams in non-conference and risk a loss.

That’s exactly what I was thinking.  LSU was #16 at the time.  South Carolina was unranked.  The SEC put their money on the wrong horse.

The sport changes the logic to favor Alabama every year to get them in.

Last year it was who was hot, ignore middle season wins/ losses.

This year it's opposite.

That program can't burn into fucking oblivion fast enough.

If we win and Penn State pulls off the miracle on Saturday, do they jump us for #1?

Tough to say. I think we’d get it as a helmet team and SECSECSEC

No way. Unless they just hammer UO. Which isn't happening.
