I chuckled when I read “leaflet drop” and just knowing without any doubt the leaflets would have numerous critical grammatical and spelling errors. In addition to just the lunacy of such an antiquated tactic

They'll be in English.

It will look great when the Venezuelans  shoot down one of the planes and parade a captured (or dead) American in out in front of cameras.

THinka about it.   This would be like the Herschel Walker trade.  We only get one Senator.  You get 2 sycophantic senators and like 8 moronic reps.  Think of the draft capitol!

Christian murdering Negroes to be killed?

Evangelicals will be walking around with erections for the next week or two.   This will be an excellent litmus test to see if personal family financial hardship will trump attacking Nigeria - or if obliterating Nigeria will win.

If Trump’s political or economic news gets worse, it’s gonna be a bad day for Greenland when we invade.

Evangelicals win either way as it means dead blacks no matter what

Arizona Republicans are even worse than their Texas brethren, no. Besides, y'all have senator Talarico to look forward to.

He probably literally means Rudy.

Also, I like how he is just conceding that he is giving, and will give in the future, illegal orders. That was the entire point, that the military does not have to follow illegal orders. Like, "If you see Trump commit a murder, please report it to the authorities. Trump: "Hey what I do is none of your business, traitor! I'm going to have you hanged for saying that!"

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been quietly disbanded with eight months left in its charter, according to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) director.

Director Scott Kupor told Reuters that DOGE—the sweeping cost-cutting effort led by billionaire Elon Musk that dominated the first months of President Donald Trump’s second term—“doesn't exist,” adding that most of the office's functions have been absorbed by OPM, the federal government’s human resources agency.

Kuper said that DOGE is no longer the “centralized entity” it once was when Trump appointed Musk to lead the agency in January, the news agency reported on Sunday.

Musk’s collaboration with the Trump Administration drew scrutiny for the access he was granted throughout the government in his role as a “special advisor,” and the wide-ranging impact of the cuts made to everything from foreign aid to Social Security.

Musk and his team quickly began cutting federal grants, mass-firing federal workers, shuttering entire agencies, and canceling contracts. He positioned his staff throughout government agencies, seeking access to sensitive data in the name of making the government more “efficient.”

For months, Musk reiterated his overarching goal of reducing the deficit by $1 trillion by September 30, before a very public feud with Trump over his “One Big Beautiful Bill” led to a very public breakdown in ties.

Musk’s exit had long been expected. As a special government employee, he had a 130-day contract that expired on Friday, May 30.

By the time he departed, Musk had not come close to achieving the $1 trillion savings he had projected. DOGE’s website claims it has saved $214 billion at the federal level, but multiple reports show the department inflated, rewrote, or overstated these savings.

The White House did not respond to TIME’s request for comment.

Since Musk’s departure from government, dozens of staffers—including the core leadership team—have followed the Tesla CEO out the door. In October, 45 staffers were still employed at DOGE, and the office remained open during the government shutdown, according to a memo released at the time.

Many of those who remained have since taken on new roles across different departments within the executive branch. Some high-profile staffers joined Trump’s new National Design Studio, led by Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia. Others have taken roles as chief technology officer at the Department of Health and Human Services, as an official overseeing foreign assistance at the State Department, and as chief of the Office of Naval Research.

Some of DOGE’s initiatives, including the government-wide hiring freeze, have also ended, according to Kupor’s interview with Reuters.

The OPM did not respond to TIME’s request for comment.

Don’t come back

Seriously. The correct response to that commercial was, "Uh, we're not issuing illegal orders, so this is meaningless. Go kick sand. What a colossal waste of time."

I think any other administration would have responded with "Well, duh. Yeah, we agree 100%."

Also, only in upside-down world would a draft dodger threaten to murder a group of US military vets for saying that we should follow the law. Chalk up yet another thing that would completely sink any other administration.

Ron DeSantis has to be pretty happy he’s not involved in this shitshow of an administration.  When Trump says he can’t release most of the Epstein files and when we invade Venezuela and start prepping for Nigeria, it’s going to start peeling off a lot of votes for next November.

Dead American troops in a war that is unnecessary usually don’t play well with a lot of folks.

Why anybody thinks most anything else has more than negligible effect is nuts.  How one  perceives their personal finances is the biggest emotional driver for most voters.

At least since i've been tracking this the last 40yrs.

Why would desantis care about 2026 election?

If the GOP does as poorly as expected next year, which they probably will, donors and voters will be looking for somebody not tainted by all of the Trump shit.  They will be looking for a John McCain or Mitt Romney.

There is already infighting in his cabinet that has spilled out into the public, already talk of 2028 with Cruz trying to position himself as an alternative.  Trump is losing control of Congress and the Republican factions in the two chambers are pissed at each other. The Senate is even trying to get their “my phone records were subpoenaed so pay me” stuff added back in.

And a nice little war with Venezuela and maybe in Nigeria will do wonders for oil prices.

Edit: When do we stop pretending Venezuela is about drugs and more about the largest oil reserve in the world?

Ron Desantis's days as a viable national candidate are deader than dead. He's a nobody.

This is kind of small potatoes compared to the last few pages, but it still annoys me how tacky and ugly he's made the Oval Office. Look at this mess of terribleness.

I don't know who this dude is, this just showed up on autoplay after a football highlight.

Yeah, he's also leading a disastrous term as Florida's governor as well.

I couldn't care less. At this point I think the entire white house should just be burned to the ground once trumpism is done along with the constitution as well. Then rebuild a system of government from the ground up designed to withstand the technology enabled corruption of the 21st century
