Apparently you are not paying attention. Bijan was not a Choice recruit.

I mean other than Baugh, why?? Is not like he’s recruited the position that great. and their run game didn’t set the world on fire ?

Here's my Flood hatred summed up.

Most here have had or maybe still have jobs. If you are given 4-5 years to get something done, you make a choice. If it's implement SAP - get out asap. Probably will bankrupt the company anyway. Otherwise, your choice is can do this or can't but have a 4 or so year runway to find a landing spot. I'm assuming you can lie to the Board on progress - maybe 2yrs.

Flood is an absolute disaster after his first year.

Hiring Juluke was about the only think Napier did right during his Florida tenure.

And RB coaches aren't being judged based off of how many yards their players get. It is a recruiting and relationship role.

A bit extreme.  Would you say the line got better this year?  Did Arch have more or less time to throw as the season went on?  Did Baker get better or stay the same?  What about Goosby?

I think the point is how did we have such a bad OL in year 5. They should have been as good at the beginning of the year as they were and the end, and gotta  better from there. We couldn’t figure out the front 5 until midway thru the season

I'd say T. Becton did this with S&C. It took what? 8 games to get the correct personnel in? It's not extreme. Flood and his recruiting after y1 is a disaster. Can we run for 1 yard on a 4 and 1 without Arch? No person on the OL got better other than bigger and stronger.

Relationships sure, but NIL is the recruiter these days. Give me someone who gets the most out of their backs.

Isn't he the guy that slapped a player from LSU earlier this year? Not a dealer breaker for me personally, especially since it was a guy from LSU, but it could be a hurdle.

Maybe he will slap the shit outta some of our players so they quit playing like pussies, if true(allegedly).

Yet here we are with the running back room full of his recruits that we are knocking down like a Jenga set.

OT Saadiq Charles - at LSU out of Mississippi

OT Caden Jones - to UF out of New Orleans

Adding RB Kenneth Dixon at La Tech

This is reductive and incorrect. Sure, it’s NIL first, but not only. Texas is still competing with other big time programs for many recruits in which NIL is comparable for all involved. Better recruiters are still winning more battles. Let’s not just fall prey to the $9.95er whines of “it’s only about NIL these days” as that is bullshit.

It’s also completely reductive to say recruiting is just about convincing someone to play for you. Evaluation is every bit as important if not more than the convincing part. This is the issue I have with Choice. His players like him and he made sure not to screw up sure things but man he was kind of shit in picking the right guys to play for Texas.

He was. The fact we had the line we had this year in year 5 is disaster.

Yea. We saw what our offense looked like with a serviceable line later in the season. He does his job and figures that out earlier we are in the playoffs.

I think the biggest issue with Flood was personnel management, when the pancake factory started, people (myself included) deluded themselves into thinking it would turn into the new standard with high 4 and 5 star talent. But after that it was back to normal and we still we deluded ourselves into thinking Flood would develop them, 2023 class? sure you go with projects, but the projects kept coming class after class and we had it all explode in our faces this year. We are now desperate for transfers and then pray that they can mesh quickly for our all-in season next year.

Flood needs to go, I said it before but the best HC hires need an elective/minor in OL because Sark should have seen it coming as well.

I agree with this. But I also believe being able to develop your guys along with the baseline recruiting edge provided by NIL the at Texas is more valuable than just being a rainmaker as was the thought in the pre-NIL recruiting landscape.

It’s a spectrum, but the development side is something that Choice provided that really stood out to me.

Why should I be excited about this Jabbar guy? Serious question.

Also, why is everyone here so in love with Baugh? 5.3 ypc isn't much better than Wisner's 4.6 behind the worst line in the SEC. His longest carry on the year was 26 yards..

He's a tough runner and he's got much better speed than wisner.

its because we have the worst coaching staff in the country. if we don't have 5 star seniors playing every year averaging 90 pts a game and not allowing a single yard or point , we suck monkey balls and need to tear it all down.

YPC ain’t everything. He has a better YPC than Lacy and I would 100% take Lacy and his 20TDs over him. Baugh is a strong runner and the 3rd leading rusher in the SEC. Hes not our best option but he is a solid upgrade.

Our running game was good under Choice, and fell off a cliff as soon as he left, and you think that's evidence that Choice isn't a good RB coach.

5.3 ypc when you had 220 carries is very good. Baugh was a workhorse, no other RB on Florida had even 30 carries on the season.

I find your question odd. Have you watched him play? He's pretty good. Also, there is a pretty big difference between 5.3 YPC and 4.6. That's like saying "so and so shot 50% from the field, which isn't much better than so and so shooting 40%".
